Android Studio shows Build Tools 21.1 not installed - android

Android Studio shows Build Tools 21.1 not installed even if I can see it completely installed in sdk directory (My sdk directory is "C:/Program Files/Android/sdk")(I can see Build Tools files in /sdk/build-tools/21.1.x)(It didn;t bnot work when it was installed in default directory too). Note that I had downloaded Android Studio 1.0 completely from Google Website itself and successfully installed it. I have not been able to start it even once since then as it starts downloading Build Tools 21.1 automatically even if I already have it. I dont have enough internet to download it again. Even the download won't cancel and I have to forcibly close it. If i try to start Studio when not connected to internet, it shows Build Tools was not installed and after clicking finish, sometimes it starts sometimes not.
Please help me. I have tried other options told by users over the internet but none could help me!

Missing Android Studio uninstall.exe

I am having some issues with my download of Android Studio. I recently was on a test build Windows 11 and the Virtual Device Manager in Android Studio was not working. I found out that that build I was on was having issues with Android Studio so I reverted back to Windows 10. I had to do a complete reboot so I redownloaded Android Studio. I started getting issues with the SDK not wanting to download. I would select one in the SDK Manager and it would say that the file directory that stored the SDK was missing or corrupt. I have tried to uninstall in Settings but it tells me that uninstall.exe is missing. I downloaded a second version in hopes that it might have the uninstall.exe but it does not. What are my options to first get rid of my corrupt version and also install it correctly?

Android Studio Bug? AntergOS Android SDK can't be installed with Android Studio or AUR

OS : Antergos (Linux)
The problem here is the missing Android SDK, I can not install it from either android-studio-2.2 or AUR.
When I tried to install it from the Android SDK, it does not allow me to check the Android SDK Platform for download
Assuming that Android SDK is already installed I proceed to click next only to be met with this message which confirms that an Android SDK is installed. I then tried to start a project which the program in turn throw an error saying that the Android SDK is not installed. I then check the settings and found that the Android SDK Location is not set. I google for the location of default Android SDK location, which is $HOME/Android/sdk, which does not exist on my machine. The only conclusion I can make is that Android SDK is not installed on my machine. I tried to install it from android-studio-2.2's GUI but it does not let me tick it while saying that it is installed. I then tried to install the Android SDK from the AUR, which returns 'package filename is not valid'.
I tried installing android-studio-2.2 from both AUR and the official android site, neither let me download Android SDK.
What might be the problem? Is it Antergos? Could it be that the default install path is different than many other path on the internet?
You need to reset the older SDK and Android Studio configuration by going to the:
/home/brandon/.. directory
and deleting .AndroidStudio2.2 and Android folder. Make sure you have enabled hidden directory visibility. This will reset old Android Studio setup and start over everything from the beginning.

Unable to update SDK components within Android Studio 2.1.1

So when I opened Android Studio today, there was a notification telling me that there is an update available for the Android Support Repository. I clicked on the update link and I received this warning:
Due to your system configuration and the packages to be installed, it
is likely that the following packages cannot be successfully installed
while Android Studio is running.
Please exit and install the following packages using the standalone
SDK manager:
-Android Support Repository
I went in the Android SDK settings page and it gave me the same result when clicking Apply.
My SDK is in C:\Android\sdk\ so it can't be a problem with rights elevation. I had the SDK installed before I installed Android Studio, however I had some problems with the SDK so I completely flushed and reinstalled it, while Android Studio was installed.
I also used the edit link next to the path (in the Android SDK settings) and I went through the setup, Android Studio found everything and had nothing to do. There was an update for the latest platform which I did through that instead and Android Studio installed it properly without needing the standalone manager.
Is it just that this component must be updated from the standalone manager or is it a problem with my Android Studio and/or the standalone manager?
UPDATE: I have tried to update from the main menu (after closing the active project) and it still asks me to open the standalone.
To be clear: I can update properly from the standalone SDK manager and there is no problem with opening it, however I have seen a clean install on a colleague's computer and he could install additional components directly inside Android Studio without using the standalone manager at all, so I find it quite annoying to close, update and reopen when I shouldn't have to.
Should I risk to attempt the update from Android Studio (as there is a button for it), reinstall or repair Android Studio or do I need to flush absolutely everything and install from scratch?
I'm not totally sure if this will help but - try uninstalling everything to do with android studio (the ide, sdk, etc.). Also delete every file they created on your computer.
Did you download the 1.2 GB android studio all in one? If not, make sure to grab that one.
Also, make sure your Java SDK is also installed and that your Windows environment variable points to the sdk location correctly.
Finally, you do have to exit android studio in order for the sdk standalone to work properly.
Hope this helps, good luck.

Android SDK installation errors

Installing the Android SDK. Got Eclipse Juno (latest version). Ran into some minor issues with the installation, but managed to get past them. But now I have one I just can't work through. I've downloaded the Eclipse ADT Plugin. When I restart Eclipse, it gives me this error: "This version of ADT requires Android SDK Tools in revision 20.0.0 or above. Current revision is 16.0.0. Please update your SDK Tools to the latest version." The error dialog box gives me a button to open the SDK Manager, which I take. It opens the SDK Manager and it finds the new packages that I need. When I go to install them, I get ANOTHER error. The log says:
"Failed to rename directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\temp\PlatformToolPackage.old01."
and a dialog pops up telling me that it can't rename the folder and what to try to get it to work. It never works, and I have to Cancel everything all the way back to Eclipse (which is still miffed that I don't have the latest stuff).
I've tried rebooting and such, but it doesn't help. I tried running the SDK Manager as Admin, but when I do that, it thinks it has all the latest stuff (weird) and won't want to download anything.
Just FYI, I have Rev. 16 of the Android SDK Tools (it wants 20) and have Rev. 10 of the Android SDK Platform-tools (it wants 12).
Thanks for any help!
Did you start eclipse as an Administrator? If not, try it, sometimes eclipse just installing updates if you are an admin.
If I update SDK, I first start SDK-Manager without eclipse to install updates. After this is done, I am doing the same in eclipse. Always do this as an admin.

Cannot update Android ADT using remote site or zip archive

Android manual: http://jayxie.com/mirrors/android-sdk/sdk/eclipse-adt.html#InstallingADT
I have followed the steps in the Android manual to update and troubleshooting ADT, but all without success.
I cannot access Android SDK and AVD manager, as it says "Location of the Android SDK has not been setup in the preferences".
I downloaded the zip version to install it manually, but then I get this error:
Cannot complete the request. See the error log for details.
"Android DDMS" will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
"Android Development Tools" will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
I also tried installing new software using Eclipse with the website url:
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
But then a problem occurs:
An error occurred while uninstalling session context

I have Eclipse 3.6.2 installed on my macbook, with build id: M20110210-1200.
I installed a newer version of Eclipse, but was not able to open it.
When I double clicked on the Eclipse program, it appears very shortly in the dock below and disappears after. Therefore I need to use the current Eclipse version.
