Android manual: http://jayxie.com/mirrors/android-sdk/sdk/eclipse-adt.html#InstallingADT
I have followed the steps in the Android manual to update and troubleshooting ADT, but all without success.
I cannot access Android SDK and AVD manager, as it says "Location of the Android SDK has not been setup in the preferences".
I downloaded the zip version to install it manually, but then I get this error:
Cannot complete the request. See the error log for details.
"Android DDMS" will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
"Android Development Tools" will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
I also tried installing new software using Eclipse with the website url:
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
But then a problem occurs:
An error occurred while uninstalling session context
was:(profile=SDKProfile,

I have Eclipse 3.6.2 installed on my macbook, with build id: M20110210-1200.
I installed a newer version of Eclipse, but was not able to open it.
When I double clicked on the Eclipse program, it appears very shortly in the dock below and disappears after. Therefore I need to use the current Eclipse version.
#Yanny try downloading new version Juno.& then do the following steps. It worked fine for me

I downloaded a fresh copy of Visual Studio 2019 Community Edition. For installation, I selected only the Xamarin workload for mobile development. I created a new Xamarin.Forms project and it immediately gives the following error:
When I double click the message, I am prompted to Accept the Android SDK License Agreement. I click accept, and nothing changes, I just keep repeating those steps.
Navigating to the Android SDK Manager shows an empty list with an error:
All the solutions I have found online have not worked for me:
Enable "Auto-Install Android SDKs" in Xamarin options
Run Visual Studio as Administrator
Create custom AndroidSdkManager.exe.config file
Uninstall and re-install Visual Studio
Verified JAVA_HOME variable is set correctly
The only thing that resolved the error (before I uninstalled) was changing the Android SDK Manager repository from Microsoft to Google:
This doesn't seem like a proper solution given the warning message shown so I am wondering what else I can do.
If this issue has not been resolved yet, try to:
Open Visual Studio as an admin because the software might be failing to read the files in your system.
Go to Visual Studio > Tools > Android > Android SDK Manager and go to the tools tab and install Android SDK Command Line tools.
Then now, you can double click on the error and the issue should be resolved.
I'm running VS2022 17.4.2 and the same issue appeared on a new 7.0 Maui Blazor App. Closing VS and Running as Administrator, reopening the project, then clicking on the error gave me a License Acceptance. After accepting, all is well.
I was running on Windows 7. The issue was resolved after upgrading to Windows 10 and the Android SDKs installed correctly.
I am getting this error:
I have installed ADT and SDK using install new software in Eclipse. I am using Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers. Version: Kepler Service Release 2.
I used this link https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
I do not know where the SDK is getting installed as it being done through Eclipse. Which path should I provide to remove this error. Actually I cannot even set a path as the OK button in preferences window remains disabled.
What can be the issue.
I know this has be address earlier but could not get what I am looking for hence added a new thread.
I do not know where the SDK is getting installed as it being done through Eclipse.
Not if you installed the ADT plugin separately. You need to download and install the Android SDK (see "SDK Tools Only"), then teach the ADT plugin where you installed it.
Also note that support for the ADT Plugin has been officially discontinued by Google.
Choose Window>preferences>Android
In the SDK location Text Box you need to browse the location of Android SDK, to let eclipse know where the android SDK is, and same for the ADT by chhosing HELP>Install new Software...
I had faced same problem and get solution....
In Eclipse go to Help
Install New Software ---> Add
Inside Add Repository write the Name: ADT (or, as you want)
and Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
after loading some time you will get Developer Tools.
check Developer Tool
click Next
Finish
Your problem will solved.
I have deleted folder .android in my user folder (c:/users/xyz/.android) and relaunched Eclipse - dialog box "Android SDK installation" (not exact name) has came up - then install of SDK.
I am trying to install androids SDK + the AVD manager on the windows 7 platform and a $(^Name) error is coming back after the installation wizard fails. Under the 'more description link-option, a defined 'appcrash' has accrued. How do i resolve this issue, I've tried numerous attempts!
I suggest you install Eclipse, and install ADK Eclipse plugin. Here for more details on how to do it.
i am basically at the very last step where i have installed the eclipse and went to install the new software the ADT to get the android project on the screen and i get this message
say operation cannot be completed. see details
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Android DDMS 18.0.0.v201203301601-306762 (com.android.ide.eclipse.ddms.feature.group 18.0.0.v201203301601-306762)
Missing requirement: Android DDMS 18.0.0.v201203301601-306762 (com.android.ide.eclipse.ddms.feature.group 18.0.0.v201203301601-306762) requires 'org.eclipse.ui 3.6.2' but it could not be found
it has been almost a full week of me trying to install this program someone please ease this frustration
In eclipse if you cannot access the Android SDK manager I suggest you unistall eclipse and restart.
On the other hand if you can access the SDK manager then you will be wanting to install most if not all of the software development kit environments for eclipse.
Upon install you have to start a new AVD choose your preferred SDK for that AVD and you should be ready to go.
Why dont you try the latest Eclipse 3.7.2 (Download Link)?
What is the version of Eclipse are you using?
It is recommended on the SDK page to use the classic version, seems like you are using a different one.
Sudhaker
Goto --> Eclipse Help --> Check for Updates --> Update Eclipse IDE Package which will show up in the list of available updates. Restart Eclipse and now try to install ADT plugin which includes the DDMS. It should work.
I've just updated my android adt to version 17 and now i cant start my android projects. When I try to update it gives me an error:
This Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 17.0.0 or above. Current version is 16.0.1.v201112150204-238534. Please update ADT to the latest version.
I've tried to update again but it shows me this
Cannot complete the request. See the error log for details.
Android DDMS will be ignored because it is already installed, and updates are not permitted.
Android Development Tools will be ignored because it is already installed, and updates are not permitted.
Android Hierarchy Viewer will be ignored because it is already installed, and updates are not permitted.
Android Traceview will be ignored because it is already installed, and updates are not permitted.
Is there a way to fix this or can i downgrade adt to fix this problem
Get the Newest ADT by going to help, install software, and entering https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
if it doesn't let you, choose from 'available sites'
I had almost the same issue when trying to update the Android ADT tools on my Windows 7 machine. Turned out running Eclipse as Administrator solved the issue for me and I was able to update normally.
Moved my Android folder to Root.
open the SDK manager outside eclipse by browsing into it.
Turn of your virus protection
Turn off zonealarm
Unistall SDk Tools and SDK platform tools.
close out the manager and start up eclipse.
(Inside Eclipse) Help -> Install new Software -> ADD " name =" ADT PLUGIN ",
location " https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ " ---> OK
-----> Check the developer tools box.
I believe i had a corrupted install of 20 so eclipse knew it was there but did not know it was incomplete.Hope this saves someone the 3 hours it took me to figure this out.
Delete all folders/jars under \eclipse\plugins and \eclipse\features. Try installing Android ADT tools again. If you still have same error than search android word under eclipse(installation) folder. Delete all except platform.xml. open platform.xml and search android xml tags and remove all. Try installing again. This solved problem below.
The step which i have tried is: Run the SDK Manager and try to update the ADT.
