I would like to have a transparent/translucent toolbar in my app, just like this one here:
What I have:
activity_activity_profil.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context="com.appmac.ron.app_newsfeed.ActivityProfil">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="#drawable/toolbar_color"
app:elevation="0dp"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.AppBarOverlay">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="#null"
app:elevation="0dp"
app:popupTheme="#style/AppTheme.PopupOverlay" />
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<include layout="#layout/content_activity_profil" />
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
toolbar_color.xml
<shape xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:shape="rectangle">
<gradient
android:angle="90"
android:centerColor="#4f000000"
android:endColor="#a8000000"
android:startColor="#00000000"
android:type="linear" />
</shape>
I spent many hours searching for a suitable solution, but I couldn't find anything helpful.
Thankful for any help!
I search in web and finally this layout its works.
with material effect.

I have a problem with collapsing toolbar layout. I would like to create collapsing toolbar with parallax effect. I read a lot of tutorials and everything is ok except one little element. The background of status bar is moving down while scrolling NestedScrollView quickly. I would like to create profile like in Facebook app.
I am attaching a video which shows my problem (in this video I am showing borders of layouts).
URL: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RXhEW4244DvsKE3p3dYaIyi5g17PuFP2
Also this is my layout:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<layout>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/coordinator"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appBar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="200dp"
app:titleEnabled="false"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="#color/colorRedThemePrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<ImageView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:src="#drawable/drawer_top_part" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"/>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v4.widget.NestedScrollView
android:id="#+id/scroll"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fillViewport="true"
android:overScrollMode="never"
android:clipToPadding="false"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
<TextView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="#string/activity_rules_info_text" />
</android.support.v4.widget.NestedScrollView>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
</layout>
Could you help me to resolve this problem ?
I had the exact same problem and it turns out that it was because of the android:fitsSystemWindows="true" property on the android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout element.
If you remove that, it should work.
Here is my layout.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context=".MainActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/app_bar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="#dimen/app_bar_height"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.AppBarOverlay">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/toolbar_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:toolbarId="#+id/toolbar">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/iv"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
android:clickable="true"
android:foreground="?attr/selectableItemBackground"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
android:contentDescription="#string/image"
app:srcCompat="#drawable/risotto">
</ImageView>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
app:popupTheme="#style/AppTheme.PopupOverlay" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<include layout="#layout/content" />
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
I have researched all the previous question before posting this question none of the previous solution worked for me. I need to make my Toolbar static while scrolling it goes up while scrolling butI need to make it static how can i do this. Now let me explain what are all the methods I have tried so far,
I have entered windowSoftInputMode to adjust resize
fitwindows
true in layout
This is the code i have written :
This is the main CoordinatorLayout:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/main_content"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways" />
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<include layout="#layout/activity_incident"
/>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
This is the layout file :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/activity_incident"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:id="#+id/incident_recyclerview"
android:divider="#fff"
android:keepScreenOn="true"
android:dividerHeight="0.5dp"
/>
</RelativeLayout>
I just want to make my Toolbar static how can I achieve Thanks in advance!!
Remove app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways" this from Toolbar and check scroll.
Okay there are lot of answers but ,
Is this what are you looking for?
If yes, you can use CollapsingToolbarLayout
For the second view here is my xml all you need to remove ImageView to get the first view.
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/profile_id"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#drawable/monkey"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v4.widget.NestedScrollView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#ffe5e5e5"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:orientation="vertical">
<include layout="#layout/activity_second" />
</LinearLayout>
</android.support.v4.widget.NestedScrollView>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
Take a note that I've used app:layout_collapseMode="pin" for Toolbar
Have fun ^_^
Make your layout like this. Your toolbar will be fixed at top while you scroll your layout.
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
>
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed|enterAlwaysCollapsed"
app:statusBarScrim="#color/primary"
app:contentScrim="#color/primary"
app:titleEnabled="false"
app:layout_collapseMode="none"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<!--
we must create the value entry for the toolbar height here as different version would have different heights
-->
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="top"
android:gravity="top"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:contentInsetLeft="0dp"
app:contentInsetStart="0dp">
</android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/main_content"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways" />
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<include layout="#layout/activity_incident"
/>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
Hi i am learning to use coordinate layout. I want to know how do i implement coordinator layout in a fragment. Can any one post some tutorials or example here ?
This is my activity_main
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context="com.example.manish.planetdelhi.MainActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.AppBarOverlay">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:popupTheme="#style/AppTheme.PopupOverlay" />
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<include layout="#layout/content_main" />
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
And this is my fragment :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context="com.example.manish.planetdelhi.MainActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="192dp"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/header"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#drawable/midu_cover"
android:contentDescription="#string/paralax"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/detail_recycler_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior" />
<android.support.design.widget.FloatingActionButton
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:id="#+id/fab"
android:layout_margin="10dp"
app:layout_anchor="#+id/appbar"
app:layout_anchorGravity="bottom|right|end"
android:src="#android:drawable/ic_input_add" />
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
Thanks :)
Your implementation seems to be fine.. But why have have you used a coordinator layout in an activity as well as in a fragment. You should only keep it in fragment and simply modify your activity xml to be-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context="com.example.manish.planetdelhi.MainActivity">
<include layout="#layout/content_main" />
</RelativeLayout>
Also a good tutorial-
http://saulmm.github.io/mastering-coordinator
UPDATE: BTW, just a suggestion- it seems you are using a scrollable view(recycler view). So I suggest that you just put the recyclerview in a fragment and the rest of the code in the activity.
Your activity xml-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context="com.example.manish.planetdelhi.MainActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="192dp"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/header"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#drawable/midu_cover"
android:contentDescription="#string/paralax"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<FrameLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:id="#+id/frame"/>
<android.support.design.widget.FloatingActionButton
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:id="#+id/fab"
android:layout_margin="10dp"
app:layout_anchor="#+id/appbar"
app:layout_anchorGravity="bottom|right|end"
android:src="#android:drawable/ic_input_add" />
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
And your fragment xml-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:id="#+id/my_recycler_view"
android:scrollbars="vertical"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
android:layout_height="match_parent"/>
Now simply inflate the frame layout at runtime.
I have implement a collapsingToolbarLayout with a toolbar. the problem is that toolbar is overlapping below status bar. I have read other related problem ( android:fitsSystemWindows="true") on stackoverflow but some thing is wrong and they are not working in my problem.
here is my activity xml :
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/app_bar_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true" >
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="16dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="0dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginBottom="40dp"
app:collapsedTitleGravity="start"
app:collapsedTitleTextAppearance="#style/colapsedTextAprearance"
app:expandedTitleTextAppearance="#style/expandedTextAprearance"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
>
<TextView
android:id="#+id/subtitle"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="bottom"
android:layout_marginBottom="10dp"
android:layout_marginLeft="16dp"
/>
<include
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
layout="#layout/peyvtoolbar"
/>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
and peyvtoolbar.xml is :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
>
</android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar>
I'm trying to make a CollapsingToolbarLayout scrolling always even if I don't need to scroll on my view.
I have seen something similar in WhatsApp application.
Here is a link to see what I want :
