My Android emulator is having render issues like in the image. When i restart the emulator or switch to another screen it becomes normal but if I don't interact with it for a while the issue pops up again.
I tried changing the AVD Manager settings to Software GLES but the issue still persists.

I'm trying to run a sample Xamarin app and I think my Android emulator is acting up. I've tried enabling Hyper-V, increasing the RAM, telling it to use the host GPU, launching the virtual device from the command line instead of the GUI, and double checking that I have the correct version of the build tools for the version of Android I'm attempting to run.
As a test I've just run the emulator by itself without an app and have discovered that it still shows a white screen even when it is apparently running, somehow. The first image is what I get when I press the Screenshot button. The second image is what I actually see on my desktop. It's been like this for over 10 minutes.
Any advice? I've been Googling like crazy and can't seem to work this out.
Have you tried simply changing the renderer?
Go on the sidebar menu, click the 3 dots>Settings>Advanced and try changing the OpenGL ES Renderer
When I start the Android emulator only white blank screen is coming After that nothing is happening, Because of that, I changed the graphics settings to Software -GLES 2.0, Now the emulator is launching but it's very very slow, Taking more time to navigate from one screen to another. Please help me to resolve this
Blank Screen Image
To solve the issue you have to go to the sidebar menu click More>Settings>OpenGL ES Renderer and(in my case) set it to Angle(D3D11) or Angle(D3D9) or Swiftshader. After that you have to restart the emulator.
Now Issue will be fixed!
I am having an issue with the android emulator on android studios. The screen of the emulator does not fit in the window. As well as this all clicks respond as if it was fit to the large window. As far as I can tell, changing any of the AVD settings have had no effect on helping it.
I created a brand new emulator today but it is behaving weird today. Here is my setting:
When i start it up, it loads fine. Until it gets to the lock screen. I keep on dragging/swiping from bottom to top to unlock, but it wont! This is the first time I encountered such behaviour. I tried with target Android 6.0 - API Level 23 but was able to unlock. I want to test my app on Google API 23. Please help to figure out the proper setting values.
Happened to me as well.
Another solution in addition to what #TTRansmit suggested is as below:
Close emulator.
Go to AVD manager screen, edit your Emulator and go to Advanced Settings.
Select Cold boot as Boot option located in Emulated Performance section. This way you will be able to restart your emulator and get it unlocked without loosing data.
Power off (via holding power) on the device buttons and wipe data (from Android Virtual Device Manager) worked for me. It was turning off the Device Frame from the edit/Virtual Device Configuration screen of AVD that seemed to cause the problem.
I still did not solve this problem, somewhat. To get thru, what I did was I activated the Camera emulation then relaunched the emulator. On the lock screen, I dragged the Camera icon. The camera would crash and emulator would notify you about it thru a pop up dialog. Once you exit the dialog, it will go back to your homepage UNLOCKED! I know, it was weird but it worked.
So I've searched for an answer but found nothing. Basically, whenever I run a simple little menu app for android tablets using the eclipse android emulator 3.0, only about 1/6th of the app is shown (the top center piece, if the tablet is held landscape.) I've done tutorials using the 2.2 emulator and they work just fine, but whenever I launch the 3.0, the app (and only the app - the android home runs fine) just doesn't appear. When I look at it in the main.xml layout folder, the graphical layout shows it exactly the way I want it to appear.
Is this a problem with the emulator? This can't be a common problem, otherwise I'm sure I would have found a solution by now, but there must be some switch or something that I'm not seeing that's making the app appear as if it were running on a phone and not a tablet.
Do you have a low resolution set for your 3.0 AVD? If you run the AVD Manager, what resolution does it show?
