"Couldn't upload. Try again." error on Google Play Console - android

When I try to upload my Android App Bundle to the Google Play Console, I get this generic error message saying "Couldn't upload. Try again.".
I've already tried:
making sure my versionName and versionCode are unique among all uploaded artifacts
making sure that the .aab/.apk is signed with the proper key
re-uploading the .AAB file
re-uploading the .APK file
checking status of google services to make sure that there isn't a mass outage
asking my senior Android dev what's up
How do I resolve this error and upload my .AAB or .APK?

Google Chrome
Use a new Incognito window to upload the .aab or .apk (as mentioned in the comments).
Alternatively, clear the website data:
going to: developer console (F12) > Application > Storage > Clear site data
Screenshot
press F5 to refresh the page
uploading the .apk/.aab again
Safari
Open Preferences >
Privacy > Manage Website Data > Remove All > Done

Here's what worked for me:
After getting the error on play console. Now use 'Add from Library' option instead of 'Upload', and you will find your appbundle that failed to upload there, select it and proceed with further steps.

This problem comes out due to multiple gmail logins on same browser, if the developer account is not the default logged in account. You can solve this by signing out all gmail accounts and login in the specific gmail account.

For my case clearing data, using Incognito or changing browser did not work. So, finally I uploaded an APK file (all previous versions were AAB files) and surprisingly Google Play console accepted it!
Give a chance to APK file if the above answers are not helping you.

Do you have gmail with another account, opened in other tab? If so, sign out from both accounts, then sign in to Google Play console again.

I could simply solve the problem by usinng Firefox instead of Chrome. Nothing else helped. With Chrome the problem remained even after applying all the suggestions above. Chrome 56, OS Ubuntu 16.04

If your zip align is not successful or verification failed at the end of the zip align process, this error is likely to occur. Please analyze whether zip align was successful. Also, you can try uploading both in .apk and .aab format. You are more likely to get a more detailed error hinting a possible cause.

If you're using Unity
I was trying to upload a Unity project. Clearing browser cache, loging out of accounts, trying different browsers, zip align etc. didn't help for me. What did, was to either:
a. Upload an .apk instead of an app bundle.
For some reason, this works completely fine, but app bundles fail every time.
Sadly, apks be unavailable for new apps starting from August 2021 :(
b. Upgrade to a newer version of Unity
Versions that did not work:
2019.4.20
Versions that worked:
2020.3.3
Play Console's error message is not especially helpful, so it's difficult to say exactly what the problem was or what fixed it, but hopefully this will help someone else using Unity.
I haven't tested any Unity versions except those listed above. If you have and also have the necessary stackoverflow rights, feel free to update my list with your own findings.

On Safari:
Preferences -> Privacy -> Manage Website Data -> Google (remove that) did it for me! ;-)

After that error happened to me, I click "Add From Library" and my uploaded app bundle showed up there, and am able to select it.
No need to logout/login or clear the cache/cookies.

After All of trying above, I have just Change the browser from Chrome To "Opera" - and its uploaded very fast. It seems that opera is very fast than chrome.

Installing old uploaded APK from Google Play Console not working anymore?

I used to test migration problems via installing old APKs from google play console and then updating to the most recent internal test version.
Since at least a week this doesn't work anymore. Every share link to a specific APK just links me to the latest APK that is published. I'm talking about this share link:
So either the live production version, or as an internal tester the current internal test version.
Anyone else has this problem? I couldn't find anything about it online.
My personal fix now is to manually download the APK, install it via ADB and then update via playstore. But that's of course more annoying than just clicking a link.
I have been in contact with an agent from google for more than 1 month about this issue, first they insisted that it was not a problem, but I helped them to understand this issue with a few images. The agent who took care of me says that their technical team has been investigating this issue for a while.
It seems we have to wait until we get a proper fix. Until that, you can use this area to upload your apk and get a specific link for that:
https://play.google.com/console/u/0/internal-app-sharing
This part gave google play link for that build and still working on android devices without a problem.
Best!

Publishing app to google store from android studio

I have built a app in android studio and would now like to publish it however I am very confused with the process for this. From Android studio I have generated a signed APK file which can be seen in the image below.
I see however that Google play console wants the files in the .AAB file type. How do I generate this/ what is it. The upload console can be seen below.
This is my first app upload so my questions may make no sense, please let me know in the comments below if there is anything I need to change or additional information required.
Any additional help with publishing apps on google play store will be greatly appreciated.
.AAB refers to "Android App Bundle", select Android App Bundle instead of APK after you clicked Generated Signed Bundle / APK, the rest of the procedure is more or less the same. You may refer to the official documentation for more information

Firebase app distribution fails: invalid apk file

I'm trying to upload an apk for distribution on firebase but I get this error instead:
"There's been an error processing your distribution. Ensure you're uploading a valid IPA or APK and try again. Additional information about this error: Invalid APK file."
I'm indeed trying to upload an apk (which by the way, works fine on device). I thought the issue could be related to the android keystore, but that seems okay too. Can't find much more info on this online. Any suggestions?
There could be various reasons for this type of issue and you can try the below methods to solve the problem.
Try to upload apk via a google chrome OR any other browser. Reason for saying this is sometime problem is your session invalid. Using any different browser such as firefox,IE etc. would create new session and allow to upload apk.
Sometimes it happens due to low internet speed speed but it's rare.
It could be happened with the application icon. You must need to be set in the AndroidManifest.xml file
You can contact to firebase support team if above doesn't work. Link

Google App is Published on Internal Test Track but Can't Be Found/Downloaded

I've successfully completed the publishing process for an APK to the Internal Test Track.
But when I try to view the App for download on the Google Play Store using the "VIEW ON GOOGLE PLAY" link in the screenshot below...
...it opens a new window with the following error:
I've also tried using the testers link "download it on Google Play." below...
...but it results in the same message stating the App can't be found.
This is the first time the App has been published and it's being done on the Internal Test Track.
The automated testing picked up a few warning and minor issues but no errors:
Has anyone experienced this issue before? I've contacted Google support for advice but I thought it would be worth trying here too and seeing if anyone had any suggestions on what to try next.
Thanks.
If this is the first time your app is being published on a track, it will take a couple of hours to be processed. This is only a one-time thing though, for future updates, the availability will be immediate on the internal test track.
Once the app is available, you'll also need to follow the opt-in link to be eligible for the download of the app.
Please delete cache and data of google play app on your device, then new updated version will be available
For Android App Bundles (AAB)
On the left menu, select Release > Devices and versions > App bundle
explorer.
Select the artifact filter near the top right of the page.
On the “Choose an artifact” table, select the right arrow on the
artifact you want to view.
Select the Downloads tab.
To share a link to install a specific APK: In the “Internal app
sharing link” section, select Copy shareable link.
As of today, the format of the shareable link:
https://play.google.com/apps/test/<package.name>/<version.number>
For Both APKs and AABs
You can use Internal app sharing instead.
Upload an APK or app bundle on the internal app sharing upload page
Then you can make your app available to anyone by sharing a download link.
Before anyone can download, they need to turn on internal app sharing on their Google Play Store app.
Open the Google Play Store app Google Play.
Tap Menu Menu > Settings.
In the “About” section, tap the Play Store version 7 times.
After the Internal app sharing setting appears, tap the switch to turn on
internal app sharing.

Answer for latest play console 2021
I was having same problem but since play console is lot different I didnt found any suitable solution but after trying a bit, this was solution that worked for me.
Play Console > Setup > Internal App Sharing > Email Lists > Make sure your email list is checked and saved.
In uploader and tester section make sure 'Anyone you shared link with can download' is selected.
Thats it.
I also created video on how this problem can be solved:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAiu76l4-7s
I just went through this completely unintuitive process, so let me clear up some myths:
Internal testing does NOT require the app be publicly released
The review process for your app apparently needs to complete before the app is available, as others pointed out, but the Play Console gives no indication this is a prerequisite, and happily states in several places that the App is available to internal testers when it is not. In my case the review took about a month to complete, which is why the "We are experiencing longer than normal review times" message was appearing in the console. This was the initial creation of my app, so I don't know which items-under-review were actually required, as the whole backlog completed at the same time (also with no notice to me).
Even at this point, if I follow the 'join' link on my phone, I still have the same issues the OP had. Clearing Play Store cache and other tricks did nothing. Instead, I had to click it from a PC, follow the prompts, and choose to install to a specific device (which requires the 7-tap developer mode on the device mentioned by others)
My case, hope it help. (Internal testing)
Make sure:
Change your version code for new release.
Add tester emails.
After upload and share link, must do these steps to download:
Open the Google Play Store app Google Play.
Click the Menu icon Menu > Settings.
In the "About" section, tap the Play Store version 7 times.
Once the Internal App Sharing setting appears, tap the switch to enable internal app sharing.
Click Enable.
Hours on this.
In my case the missing step was to enable Managed Google Play, which "Manage your private app and make it available to specific organisations". You don't need to apply an organisation filter, and simply use the internal test tracks.
The setting is found in Setup > Advanced Settings > Managed Google Play
#pierre was right. But that was some time ago, and now that link is not called Opt-in URL, but Join on the web. Just ask your testers to open it before they download the application.
We just had a related issue in this completely horrible process - documenting here because it burned a week for us.
Problem: We got approved on closed and production 2x but no one could see our app in internal, closed, public test tracks or on the public store.
How it happens: As far as I can tell when you start a Closed Test Track an organization gets auto-selected on Setup > Advanced Settings > Managed By Google and/or you can (irreparably!) set one yourself on the Closed Testing page. This means that only people in your org will be able to access it.
Solution: If Internal/Closed/Production is not showing up the solution may be: In Setup > Advanced Settings > Managed By Google you UN-check your org for it to be publicly available, as in the helpful alert in the screenshot below.
Duh. Worst default ever? :)
For me, i clicked the link play console gave me on phone
https://play.google.com/apps/internaltest/***********
But it didn't work, i clicked the link with pc, got the play store link, and clicked link on phone, and it worked !
For me, the issue was that of the version X.Y.Z, Google Play Console uses Z to determine the newest version of the app. So if, for example, the previous version of your app was 1.70.170, then 2.1.171 would work, but 2.1.1 would not show up for you as it would be considered older than 1.70.170.
Once you got the application from google play store link will be available on internal testing page inside.
Click on Internal testing
Step 1: Click copy link and use any browser
Step 2: after that it will show Accept Invitation already you are opened your added mail id from the google play developer console for internal tester on this application.
Step 3:
finally click on download it on google play
thats all. enjoy your coding...
Go to settings --> then internal app testing and add your testers there. Follow the instructions in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAiu76l4-7s

Error while publishing my application to android market

when i am publishing my application to android market i am getting this error:Market does not accept apks signed with the debug certificate. Create a new certificate that is valid for at least 50 years.
i don't know how to solve it.
can any one help me?
Thanks in Advance
Aamirkhan I.
You have to create your own certificate to release your app in the Market. If you're using eclipse follow this.
Right-click on your project > Android Tools > Export Signed Application Package...
If your project is chosen, press next.
Select: Create new keystore, set the path and password, press next
Fill the form, (Validity = 1000), next
Save the APK somewhere and press finish
Important
Save the keystore where you always find it and make a backup somewhere. You need this keystore to update your app. If you lose it you won't be able to update your app anymore. Not even Google can help you, if you lose it. So make a backup on your hard drive, online, external hard drive, ... This is a very important file.
But please use this site before you post something here.
Check the link posted by Warpzit. The debug key store is used only for running application on the emulator. Please sign the application in the release mode for uploading it to the android market.
