Android app not appearing in device market despite being compatible - android

I have an app (All operators' APN | Tweakker) and it's been on the market for a while now. I discovered this week that I can't find it from my device's market anymore although I used to be able to. Nothing in the app has changed. If I go to the web market I get a message that confirms the app is compatible with my Desire. I tried finding the app with other phones as well, even from different countries, and it just doesn't appear.
Here's what I tried so far:
unpublish, publish
change promotion preferences
release a small bugfix update
wait for the Market to return to normal
Someone suggested the single quote might be a problem, but that can't be the case since this worked up to this week. The app is using copy protection.

The app seems to appear in the market now, although I haven't done anything more. I did contact Google, but I don't have an answer from them yet.

Is there a way for Calabash to load an app that needs to be tested onto a phone that comes from a carrier that has the app pre-installed?

For business reasons, I cannot indulge the carrier or the app, but I need to test our app on phones that already have our app pre-installed. I have no problems running my scripts on phones that do not come pre-installed with this app, only the ones with it. The reason I believe is possibly because of the location of where the app is installed versus the location in which Calabash installs to. I thought if I rooted an Android phone that had our app on it that this would solve the problem, but that's not the case since the app does not appear on the phone after being rooted. Any suggestions would be appreciated and I apologize for the question being somewhat vague as I have to protect the companies involved. Thanks for understanding.
To add a little more detail so it makes more sense, this app I'm testing has already been released and because it's pre-loaded on this carrier's phones, I need to be able to get permission to uninstall and then reinstall the app. Maybe it's not possible but without getting some input I won't really know. Again, I have no problem testing on our older test phones (before the carrier began pre-loading the app) and maybe I need to just stick with testing on that for now. The problem with this is that it limits me from being able to test on the latest OS's. Thanks again for any input.
Whenever you want to update an app on the play store or publish a newer version first of all the package name of the app should be same and then the version code should be incremented and it should be more than that of the old version published.
In case the preload apk cannot be uninstalled (some preload app can also be uninstalled), and you do not have the same sign key for the preload apk, the answer would probably be impossible.
If you have the sign key of the preload apk, just resign the target-app apk and test-server apk.

Android app does not show up in App store > 24 hours

I released my first android app yesterday, and got the direct link to the app working after 6 hours. But Its been > 24 hours now, and it still doesnt show up in the search on playstore.
I have been searching in the playstore both from my android device, as well as from desktop browser. The app simply isnt there.
Is this common? Is there something I can do to check the status/find out whats happening?
Thanks a lot
EDIT: the direct link is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidinput
EDIT: The issue was indeed that the name "Droid Input" was too general. Changed it to Moused . Hopefully it makes it a tad better once the update is pushed to prod. Thanks for all your help!
Sometimes newly published apps take time until they appear in search results. The app needs to be indexed in the Play Store before it starts appearing in search results. Also, make sure the app name has enough unique keywords so that it's easier to spot while searching.
All my apps were searchable minutes after the direct link started working. Can you post the name of your app.
Check those in Developer console
published area
minimal Android os
make sure it's published in developer console
If it's all right, don't worry, just wait to published
If your app have any problem google will send email to you
First of all,
you must check if you have no other updates,
second check if the website is not under going several changes if so than you might have to wait a couple of days
check your device for any out of the normal activity
if this is not resolved make sure to contact the company and explain them your issue,
regularly it shouldn't be happening to only you so there might be others with the same issue as you, it is unlikely that it could be your device but there is always that possibility that it might.

android app not able to get GPS until phone restarts

I am getting multiple reports from users that they can't get GPS or location services in my app until they restart their phone, and then everything works no problem.
I only get a limited sample of android users complaints, from the set of users that use my apps but it seems shockingly similar to this issue:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39745
Google OTA updates rolled out to some additional carriers last week. Looking through my code changes over the last several months, I haven't changed any GPS/positioning stuff except in cases where I had to use the new google maps, but I can't tell if my particular user complaints are coming from a very old version or an upgrade from a very recent version or whatever version.
It appears to be related to Android 4.2 but I can't confirm that either, except the similarity of users restarting their phone and everything magically solves itself. I don't consider this a valid troubleshooting option though for my users.
Basically wondering if anyone else has solved this in code, and also putting it here in case other developers can relate to this

Android App is not listed in Market search

I have recently uploaded a few more Go SMS Pro themes but they don't show up in the market search. My older themes do show up. In theory there should not be any difference between the older ones and the new ones except for the name of the package and the changes I made in colors/pictures etc. They are in the market, one can find them by linking directly. Developer console states everything is ok and available to 694 devices. As an example I will give the direct link to my Free halloween theme.
Free Halloween Theme
Since I did not change anything that should influence the visibility to the filters or something I have no clue as of why these last 3 themes don't show up.
Update, It does show up when I change the filter to popularity! But not when it is filtered on relevance.
Thanks for your assistance.
Problem has been recognised by google and in my case it has been fixed! Question answered.
For those of you still having the problem, check your developer console for messages and also, if your apps are also not listed when you change the filter to popularity instead of relevance you most likely have a different problem.
Regards,
Ryan

Android - unable to uninstall application

I have some Android market feedback for my app Hire*A*Droid where users complain that they are unable to uninstall the application. Here's two I have so far (about 10 days apart):
janelle: I uninstalled this app, but its still showing that its
installed under my downloads. What can i do ?
valerie: It's frozen I can't open or delete it.
anyone can help n tell me how..thanks
The app has nothing really special or tricky about it and I never experienced anything of the sort so I'm really lost at what this may be, how real it is and how to reproduce and deal with it? Any ideas, suggestions? If you have any questions that you think may help with this problem I'll be happy to provide more details
P.S. Worth nothing to mention - both complaints cost me a single star rating and no additional info was provided
P.P.S. After comment from PHP Jedi I noticed similar comments for other apps while browsing Android Market. I think this is quite common and it looks like Market bug. I will try to open a bug on Android Market support site

I purchased a DROID a week back and was having the same problem. To uninstall an application from the DROID do the following.
Uninstalling an application from Android OS v2.1
Go to settings.
Go to Applications
Go to Manage applications.
Touch the application you wish to uninstall.
Touch uninstall.
Enjoy the fact that the application is gone.
The confusion I'm guessing your commenter's are having is when you hold your finger on an application you can drag it to a trash bin. This makes you think you are deleting the application when really you are removing it from your favorite applications list. Its very misleading.
from what i understand (i don't work on Market myself), the "Downloads" list inside Market can be out of date for up to a day, until it next gets an update from the server. the app isn't actually installed anymore, and Settings > Applications > Manage Applications will show that it is indeed gone.
i reported this as a Market bug internally last year. i've just added a link to this page from that bug, and i'll try to get someone to look at it.
(it may even already be fixed in newer versions. it would be interesting to know the most recent version you've seen it in.)
I could not say why the users complain, but I could say that your application work without problem on my HTC Magic, I don't get error when I tried to uninstall it.
Best Regards
