Emulator not working - android

I just downloaded the SDK and tried to open the emulator but, even though the emulator showed, nothing appeared on the screen of it, also, the new hardware comes with a dual core, so how can I give my emulator two cores?

The emulator takes a while to load. I know I killed it several times thinking it wasn't working. You just have to wait for it to finish loading. I don't think the emulators have support for dual cores yet.

If you use a low dpi screen on your emulator, it may appear as though it is doing nothing. On a higher dpi screen, you see what looks like DOS characters saying "ANDROID" as it loads some background things. After a while, it will start loading the OS, and then you will see a logo on screen for any sized screen.
Don't know about the dual-cores, sorry.

Android emulator not showing up on desktop screen

I encounter really strange behavior with android emulator. First of all, I am using extended monitor for development. So i code on my laptop and check the app on emulator on second screen. For some reason, I can't see emulator again after disconnect vga cable but I can see emulator is running on taskbar. Somehow, I can't bring emulator out on desktop screen or move to another screen, it just hidden and I don't know how to bring it out. It already happens to me two or three times. Can somebody help me out? What can I do to solve it?
Below is screenshots of my desktop with emulator running.
alt+tab
avd manager
It happens again when I change to another monitor for extended screen. I try what #Zoe suggested press ALT+SPACE to move but it doesn't work because move is grey out.
So my solution, I created two emulators, for two different monitors.
I am not sure why I got downvoted though.

Android emulator is not showing the phone screen in full size

I am new to android, when I launch my first app, it is not occupying the entire screen size of the emulator (attached the screenshot).
Any reason why it is showing up like this.
android default emulator is really slow and useless
use leapdroid instead,it's really powerful and fast
download leapdroid from here

Images not displaying on website? But do on handheld device

NOTE:
Please see: http://elitehitsquad.co.uk/carbon.png
This is where it will show the carbon for a split second then disappear resulting in black! Hopefully the screenshot on the left doesn't show the carbon for you guys!
I had to take a screenshot very quickly for the carbon to show, so the second screenshot has some transparency.
I have also labelled which is black and which is carbon from my screen (incase the carbon shows for you guys)
I'm building a website and it's been going fine, had no problems whatsoever, however, randomly after refreshing the page, the background images (which are carbon patterns) are no longer displayed?
The images do display however, on my tablet device and iPhone 5.. which is weird.
I took a screenshot of the website on my phone and emailed it to myself, and even windows doesn't pick up the background when viewed with Microsoft's picture viewer, the carbon displays for about 0.5 seconds, then disappears resulting in a black background..
I have tried loading old code from a backup, still nothing. Chrome, Firefox and IE all do this, and yes, i've also cleared temporary files / temporary internet files and the cache/cookies/site data.
Since im not fussed if you see this part of the site, go ahead to: http://elitehitsquad.co.uk/wp/ and take a look, their is a carbon background for body, a carbon background (slightly different) for the nav bar, and the content is in a black box.. Yet on my computer screen it's just all showing black? But on my handheld devices, it's showing normally...
Anybody know of any reason?
By the way, im using a Lenovo Ideapad Z585 with AMD A10 -4600M APU with AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7600M Dual Graphics.
Also should note if I change the background to a any solid coloured image, it works fine...
Thanks,
Blake.
This is most probably incomplete monitor calibration issue.
Check your Windows display settings, called Color management (if you are on this platform) inside your Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution\Advanced settings.
There is an color management wizard who will lead you trough the process of calibrating your monitor.

starting Android app on multiple emulators simultaneously

As we all know, Android resolution is rather fragmented.
I (like many others) don't have all the screen resolution, or OS versions to test my app on.
Emulators give a solution to the resolution and OS problem, but it is getting rather tedious and annoying to run my app on each emulator (even if they are already running) just to see one layout.
So, my question is; is there any way to run my app on EACH emulator I have selected, not doing them individually?
For now, I am using a solution called Manymo, which allows me to launch emulators faster, but my ideal solution would be to start 1 app, and have a setting to be able to launch it simultaneously on several emulators.
I am surprised to see after many searches, that although people ask about running multiple, I can't seem to find anyone who would like to launch an app in multiple instances simultaneously.
Thanks!
Once you've got your emulators running, I believe in the Run Configurations control, you can select Launch on all compatible devices/AVD's and then select Active AVD's from the dropdown. I believe this should launch your app on all emulators you have running. Could be quite taxing on your system, though, unless you're swimming in RAM.
Im not sure if this is exactly, what you want but you dont even need to start an emulator to check how a layout will look like.
the ADT plugin in Eclipse allows you to check how a layout will look on different versions and devices without having to start each emulator every time.
Graphical Layout , allows you to select a device, the orientation and android OS version.

Android Galaxy Tab Emulator
edit after looking at picture: Wait--first of all. You know you have to drag that slider thing across the screen to get started, right? After that--
I'm not sure about that specific one, but I did notice some general weirdness with the Android emulators. I found a pattern that makes them work--be patient and deliberate.
First restart all your stuff--heck restart your computer to be safe.
Launch eclipse. Start a debug session with the emulator. wait. WAIT... wait... Might be 30 seconds, might be 3 minutes, who knows.
Eventually the emulator should come up and, behold, maybe it works!
If so--here's the trick--never ever shut it down. Leave it up the whole time you are debugging. It will load your app in seconds and run it like a champ. Shut it down and you will have to restart eclipse to get it to work correctly again.
Between the long wait time and that bug I've seen people extremely frustrated (including myself).
If this isn't your problem--sorry, worth a shot.
