NOTE:
Please see: http://elitehitsquad.co.uk/carbon.png
This is where it will show the carbon for a split second then disappear resulting in black! Hopefully the screenshot on the left doesn't show the carbon for you guys!
I had to take a screenshot very quickly for the carbon to show, so the second screenshot has some transparency.
I have also labelled which is black and which is carbon from my screen (incase the carbon shows for you guys)
I'm building a website and it's been going fine, had no problems whatsoever, however, randomly after refreshing the page, the background images (which are carbon patterns) are no longer displayed?
The images do display however, on my tablet device and iPhone 5.. which is weird.
I took a screenshot of the website on my phone and emailed it to myself, and even windows doesn't pick up the background when viewed with Microsoft's picture viewer, the carbon displays for about 0.5 seconds, then disappears resulting in a black background..
I have tried loading old code from a backup, still nothing. Chrome, Firefox and IE all do this, and yes, i've also cleared temporary files / temporary internet files and the cache/cookies/site data.
Since im not fussed if you see this part of the site, go ahead to: http://elitehitsquad.co.uk/wp/ and take a look, their is a carbon background for body, a carbon background (slightly different) for the nav bar, and the content is in a black box.. Yet on my computer screen it's just all showing black? But on my handheld devices, it's showing normally...
Anybody know of any reason?
By the way, im using a Lenovo Ideapad Z585 with AMD A10 -4600M APU with AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7600M Dual Graphics.
Also should note if I change the background to a any solid coloured image, it works fine...
Thanks,
Blake.
This is most probably incomplete monitor calibration issue.
Check your Windows display settings, called Color management (if you are on this platform) inside your Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution\Advanced settings.
There is an color management wizard who will lead you trough the process of calibrating your monitor.

I’m quite a newbie around here so this kinda feel like I’m learning sanscrit. Thrilling and overwhelming at the same time.
Anyway, the thing is I'm using wordpress at my laptop and I'm sttrugling at keeping my pics at the size expected when I switch to android. They look totally fine on the laptop preview for the phone, but on the real world they're basically turning into a thumbnail. I attach a picture of expectation versus reality
I apologize in advance because I suspect this is part of the ABC of programming; I don't even know if I should be uploading my pics with a particular size. I promise I'm training to become a proper padawan, and 'll appreciate any feedback.
Thank you so much for your time, and have a great day!
If you are starting with Wordpress, best thing to do is to work with themes supported by Elementor & one that allows you to modify the design for desktop, tablet, & mobile versions separately.
-Select 'Edit with Elementor'
-select the section with these six pictures. in the '#Edit Section' box at the right, you will see three options- layout/content, style, advanced.
-Select 'Advanced' and scroll down till the bottom section.
-Select the 3rd last option, 'Responsive'. From here you can hide the mentioned section for mobile.
It would look something like the attached picture
DO BEAR IN MIND THAT I HAVE ADDED SAME BUTTON TWICE - the button at the left is visible to site visitors using desktop/tablet. At the right part, you can see same button blurred. That's 'cause I hid it from Desktop & Tab.
Similarly, you too have to add section with pictures again to show in mobile only.
For that, find and click on Responsive icon & select Mobile.
Decorate the section just the way you want and do not forget to hide it from PC & Tab.
I've been doing development with Flutter. I was using a real hardware but wanted to use an emulator. I set it up but there's this issue.
I usually put my apps in virtual desktops and I switch between them with Ctrl+Meta+[arrow keys]. Each of them have a special purpose, usually desktop 1 is for browsing, desktop 2 is for development and desktop 4 is extra (for testing UI apps and emulator in this case).
However, after I launch Android emulator and switch to a different desktop, it results in the issue seen below:
The red area you see stays unresponsive for other apps such as browser, VSCode etc. (i.e. does not respond to clicks). That area is where the emulator is on Desktop 4. And it also keeps showing multitouch tool.
It's a bit annoying so I wanted to ask if anyone got this issue and if they have any solutions.
Thanks in advance.
Environment
Kubuntu 20.04
AMD Radeon R7 240/340
Solution 1
I have, somehow in a weird way, found a workaround for this issue.
After having this issue, go to the emulator window and press the magnifying glass with a plus button icon twice.
After that, it will drop that weird multitouch state and it won't bother you even as you switch desktop.
Rebooting computer will result in the same bug, however, you have to do it again.
Solution 2
Another method that works is to simply resize the window. If you have a device frame on your emulator, you can simply hold down the Meta key and hold right click and resize your window.
Solution 3
You can also maximize the window. If you have device frame around emulator window, you can press ALT+F3, which opens up window options menu, then click "Maximize". This will get rid of it.
I have noticed that if I put a slightly grey background on a view, in the emulator is rendered as white.
Pairing with another developer we realized that all the colors are slightly lighter than what actually has been set in the code.
In the picture you can see the difference between what is shown "live" on the emulator and a screen record of the emulator itself taken with Android Studio.
So the code is correct, also in an actual device the grey is displayed correctly, but the emulator show the result in slightly lighter color. Don't know why.
Anyone knows how to fix this? It's such a pain when you need to have a pixel perfect interface.
I am successfully debugging my Android app on the NOOK SDK and using the NOOK emulation. However, I am finding that the lower part of my Nook screen is being cutoff -- I'm talking about the actual screen, not my layout. Does anybody know how to fix this so the entire NOOK image is displayed in the emulator?
After much experimentation, I found that I can get the whole emulator to display by minimizing it (double click the icon on the taskbar for the emulator), and then click the icon on the taskbar again to re-display the emulator. After this the complete Nook image is displayed. It's a little strange, but for now its the best answer I've got.
I just downloaded the SDK and tried to open the emulator but, even though the emulator showed, nothing appeared on the screen of it, also, the new hardware comes with a dual core, so how can I give my emulator two cores?
The emulator takes a while to load. I know I killed it several times thinking it wasn't working. You just have to wait for it to finish loading. I don't think the emulators have support for dual cores yet.
If you use a low dpi screen on your emulator, it may appear as though it is doing nothing. On a higher dpi screen, you see what looks like DOS characters saying "ANDROID" as it loads some background things. After a while, it will start loading the OS, and then you will see a logo on screen for any sized screen.
Don't know about the dual-cores, sorry.
