Is there a programming IDE in Android market? Or just an editor that gives certain supportung features like syntax highlighting?
The best solution I've seen so far is Terminal IDE : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.spartacusrex.spartacuside&rdid=com.spartacusrex.spartacuside&rdot=1
Includes fully configured VIM, Java & Java compiler, busybox, ...
BRexx (Rexx) and Ruboto IRB (Ruby) include IDE & runtime as well...I´ve tried both of them, they run pretty stable!
This is a good Blog on Programming for Android on Android. It describes the features, pros and cons of 4 IDEs.

What is the best option today to do C++ software development on an Android platform? I need C++11, Boost, SQLite, vi/Emacs/whatever, ... and Android is the development platform, not necessarily the target.
Are the development tools on Google Play complete? Do they allow to develop a full scale application?
Are there any advantages in using a Linux VM on Android for this purpose?
You can use NDK with your android app development to embed a C++ code, which will improve the performance considering you are doing much complicated task and if you need native language like C++. But now android runtime [ART/Dalvik] is much better and all the apps are targeted to run on it. You can do a lot of work only in java itself.
And there is no VM available yet. So best way to go with this is use NDK.

I am looking for applications to see how they are built, features etc...
For example the app smspopup seems very nice for studying.
Does anybody know any other worthwhile open source projects?
I always suggest the iosched project as a pretty full example, I would start downloading the project and learning everything from the source code. As it is developed by Google developers, it fulfills all Android code patterns and also has the latest Android Material design.
If you want more Android projects, there are several pages for it in github.

In my company we have started development in android application.
Our problem is there are multiple developers for same application and usually need to work on same files so it is really difficult to integrate work each one of us does. Also we are looking for versioning system also .
For php development we used VSS where on one file only developer can work which was fine but unable to use it for android since we moved to ubuntu and everyone is having their own eclipse setup.
Please suggest solution.
Thanks in advance.
So you are looking for a versionning control system. I recommend to use GIT, you can host the remote on github (as it's free for public repository), on bitbucket (for 5 users private repository) or on your own server with GitLab

I am trying to make an application for android using node.js. As far as I searched, I found anode. But is there any proper tutorial or example to get started? I have no idea how.
As a junior Android Developer I think this is not a good idea because mainly the major issue in android development are the layouts and some API (at least for me)... If you want to go with async and node-like dev on android try rxjava
I would go through a java tutorial first before you try to look into node. The fact of the matter is you are not going to find as many resources for node as you will for java. Once you are super familiar with the android stack it should be easy to write it in node with little documentation.

I'm looking for a free tool on Macbook for Android GUI design. I just want to easily draw GUI prototype for review purpose with internal team and customer. Could anybody recommend me a tool? If no such recommendation on Macbook, Windows based tool is acceptable too.
I tried a couple but the one I liked the most was Pencil, available as standalone application and as a firefox plugin. I searched a time ago, so chances are that you could find something better, but it's worthy to give it a try.
