In my company we have started development in android application.
Our problem is there are multiple developers for same application and usually need to work on same files so it is really difficult to integrate work each one of us does. Also we are looking for versioning system also .
For php development we used VSS where on one file only developer can work which was fine but unable to use it for android since we moved to ubuntu and everyone is having their own eclipse setup.
Please suggest solution.
Thanks in advance.

So you are looking for a versionning control system. I recommend to use GIT, you can host the remote on github (as it's free for public repository), on bitbucket (for 5 users private repository) or on your own server with GitLab

I am looking for applications to see how they are built, features etc...
For example the app smspopup seems very nice for studying.
Does anybody know any other worthwhile open source projects?
I always suggest the iosched project as a pretty full example, I would start downloading the project and learning everything from the source code. As it is developed by Google developers, it fulfills all Android code patterns and also has the latest Android Material design.
If you want more Android projects, there are several pages for it in github.

Well i am trying to find a good software which helps me in coding. Hassle free and a bit helpy?
As of now eclipse is generally used by most of the people around the world. You can download the same either from eclipse official site and download the plugin for the same
Or you can use Android studio for the same. To do the same you can download it from the official android developers site https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html .
Do keep in mind that after some time, android studio may be used more by people as it is developed only for android development and also google is stopping to provide support for eclipse.
One more thing that, once you download the software, you will need to install sdk's for the api level for which you want to develop
All the support for development for android is available at the above mentioned link. Information about all the libraries are also available at the same. For more resources, you can always use youtube for the possible leacture series and also use stackoverflow and codata whenever you are stuck.

I am trying to make an application for android using node.js. As far as I searched, I found anode. But is there any proper tutorial or example to get started? I have no idea how.
As a junior Android Developer I think this is not a good idea because mainly the major issue in android development are the layouts and some API (at least for me)... If you want to go with async and node-like dev on android try rxjava
I would go through a java tutorial first before you try to look into node. The fact of the matter is you are not going to find as many resources for node as you will for java. Once you are super familiar with the android stack it should be easy to write it in node with little documentation.

I'm looking for a free tool on Macbook for Android GUI design. I just want to easily draw GUI prototype for review purpose with internal team and customer. Could anybody recommend me a tool? If no such recommendation on Macbook, Windows based tool is acceptable too.
I tried a couple but the one I liked the most was Pencil, available as standalone application and as a firefox plugin. I searched a time ago, so chances are that you could find something better, but it's worthy to give it a try.

I want to create an open source application for Android that will be available through a repository control version system. The problem is pretty fundamental, I need a tutorial that will cover the basics of licensing & how to properly maintain and create open source project (application).
First of all, find a proper license that suits for your needs.
Maybe you can begin with this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_license and then dig into the different Opensource licenses : there are a lot.
http://www.github.com is a good challenger to host opensource projects. The help is great if you need to learn Git.
You will be the owner of the project and you will be able to accept or refuse contributions. Later, you will be able to give more rights to trusted buddies that will help you building the software (because when success rise, you won't be able to handle all the submissions).
I suggest you create an empty project and pratice on it, alone.
You can delete it when you feel enough comfortable with the interface, actions to do, etc...
Do not start directly with your final project.
You will make mistakes, better to do them on a dummy project.
Good luck :)
