How to reply to comments in Android Market? - android

As a developer, sometimes we get comments about our apps in the Android market. I hate being unable to find a way to respond back to my customers. Is there a way to reply back to the comments in the Android market?
If yes, Google should really make more obvious to us developers!

Sounds like Google has now given the ability for some developers to begin adding responses to comments within Google Play. Unfortunately, it is only to Google's "Top Developers"; hopefully, the ability will be extended to all developers soon. Read more here.
Here is the original Google link.

No
Update:
Yes, please check Jon's and other's answer.
Below is the outdated answer but you can still use some of the ideas.
There is no such function, an alternative way to do that would be adding a feedback function directly in the app and send the message via email or HTTP post back to the developer.
While implementing the feedback system, consider a thread-like conversation with a user if your project is big enough.
You can even use a webview to avoid extra coding in the app and set the webview to a comment page.

this is no longer impossible .
according to many articles, google has allowed ALL developers to reply to users' comments (ratings) .
example :
http://www.droid-life.com/2013/01/09/google-adds-ability-for-all-developers-to-reply-to-comments-in-play-store/
however , i've checked it today , and i can't find out how to do it . i've searched on both the play store website and the developer console website .
can anyone find how to reply to users' comments ?

It looks like this is in the pipeline, being deployed to some developers as of the time of posting: Google Play will allow Android Developers to reply to customer feedback.
Edit 16 Apr 2013: I can now reply to comments on my own app, as of several weeks ago. So either the rollout has continued steadily and recently touched me, or it's now available to everyone.

You can reply direct on Google Play Console, GPC API or AppFollow.io API.

Proper way to republish rejected android app

I am working on client project. I submitted the android app on play store from my account. It was showing on Play store. Than according to requirement i have to publish the app from client play console account. I removed app from my account and published the same app with different package name. Than it shows app rejected because of some family policy violation. I fixed this and resubmit the app. Now it taking a lot of time in reviewing the app.
I have tried to resubmit the app after editing the policies required by google.
I want to know how much time google will take to republish my app after reviewing it again.
Or How i can connect from google with any #support email.
It usually they review my apps within few hours... but... I feel there's something wrong inside Google and one of many emails I had from their support told me it's because there's a new review process for apps on the Family program. Well I will tell a little bit about my journey may give you some idea why you are having this problem.
We experienced this problem with 2 apps:
First App: I received a message saying that my update was rejected because of the violation on the Family program alleging that it was crashing or giving an error (pretty generic message without any detail at all), I enter in contact on the support form and they send an email asking for me to read the terms and to update my APK number and submit again, I read the terms, I already had complied with everything so I replied saying that, we already comply with everyhting and we tested the APK and OBB installation and game play, all good, please send more details, they replied copying and pasting the same message, I once more insisted and asked for them to explain the problem, they replied asking for update my APK version and submit again, I said this will solve no crashes, please explain what is the problem and the support called Sara highlighted in the message asking to update the APK version, kind of talking with a machine that do not responded what I asked, but I updated my APK version, submitted again and... Worked. Why? For some reason they will not explain, my guess is they just marked my APK as dirty as an attempt to remove apps that the developers don't update, there's no other logical thing I can think off.
Second App: This one I didn't had a happy end as the previous one, I tried the technique of updating the APK version 6 times, none worked, I asked help on the form (many times), they just copy and paste the message about read the Terms, I started to insist for some details, provided them with many proves that my APK+OBB files sent to Google Play are working fine, and asked for any clue about this "problem", like a device model and Android Version that they experienced it (isn't the minimum they suppose to provide us?) but after requesting this many times, for the first time the support guy called Arthur didn't copied and pasted and finally wrote an email, his answer was:
Hi Developer,
Thanks again for contacting the Google Play Team.
As much as I'd like to help, due to policy, I’m not able to provide any more information or a better answer to your question. In our previous email, I made sure to include all the information available to me.
If you have a different question about Google Play policies, please let me know.
Regards,
Arthur
The Google Play Team
It means, he has no information at all about what is the problem, I've trying to solve this for 2 months, our flagship game is threatened of been removed from the store and they can't even explain why, the support team can just copy and paste a generic message without any understanding of our problem and we have no other channel to ask for help.
I'm really disappointed with Google for such poor support for developers.
Hope you can solve your problem updating your APK and submitting again, otherwise you can enter on the same loop as me.
Good luck!

Python API for querying Google Developer Console?

I want to get the details of one of my Android apps from the Google Developer Console (i.e. the number of installs, and current rating).
I preferably want to do this using Python. I'd prefer not to go down the screen scraping/Beautiful Soup route, so I've been searching for a relevant API. I haven't managed to find one.
My questions are thus:
Does such a Python-based Google API exist (and if so, what/where is it)?
If not, are there any other Python-based libraries I could use?
If not, what would people recommend as a non-Python alternative?
Try out Google dev scraper:
https://github.com/tmurakam/googleplay_dev_scraper
I'm using it and it works really great! You can get the number of downloads of a specific app, ratings and other statistics that you want. Try it out, you will not be sorry!

How can I upload translated descriptions of an android app to the developer console?

I have made an Android App and translated the description (which appears on the Play Store) of the app in many languages.
How can I upload the descriptions directly to the developer console ?
EDIT :
The fact is :
For each language translation you want to add to an app as public description, you have to copy - paste.
We are talking about 42 languages, "description" + "what's new" sections.
so about 82 copy - paste...
I would like to get a way to simplify these actions.
Thanks
Unfortunately, Google Play does not offer any API that allows you to upload descriptions, screenshots, updated APKs etc.
At best, you could spend a fair amount of time figuring out the various requests they use to insert data into the server, and emulate them from a small Java program. However, this probably isn't worth the trouble, as it would take really long to figure out the data in and the format of the various POST and GET requests.
I sent a request to Google, and they answered me this :
Hi,
Thank you for your note. We understand you wish to upload localized
descriptions in bulk. Unfortunately we do not currently support this
functionality. We really appreciate your thoughtful feedback, and
we'll be sure to take your thoughts into consideration as we work to
improve Google Play.
If we can assist you further, please let us know.
Regards, The Google Play Team
I'm not going any further.
I already wasted too much time.

Published application not showing in developers link

I published my new application 16 hours ago.
I can see my application only by visiting the direct link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=development.nk.cretanrecipes
The problem is that i can not see my application in my developer's link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=NKdevelopment
In addition to that my app is not indexed, so nobody can find my app by searching it...
Should i wait a few more hours or i have done something wrong? Should i contact google ?
Thank you
Google Play can be notoriously slow, both for the Developer Console and the Front End for users.
I've seen apps go live and not turn up on my Developer page for close to 48 hours. There is no way you did anything wrong, as Google Play doesn't provide any option for you to omit apps from your developer page which you may have accidentally enabled.
I'd recommend waiting for a day or two more. If it still doesn't turn up, you could try contacting Google Play support, but I wouldn't get my hopes high about even receiving a response.

Possible to report or remove comment from Android Play?

If someone posts an offensive comment on the Android Play comments section, is it possible to have it removed?
Thanks,
You can report the comment as "spam" from either the web interface (not the developer console) or from the Android client.
