I have re installed android sdk (platform 2.3.3). Now I have different set of folders on my package explorer.
For example there are folders called drawable-xhdpi , Android dependencies which weren't there before. Also by default the main.xml is now generating on RelativeLayout instead LinearLayout.
How to avoid that?
Layout-land folder is missing as well.
How can I get the previous folder set?
I guess you were using an older version of android SDK. When you reinstalled the SDK it got updated. Folders like drawable-xhdpi are automatically added to the package explorer in the newer version of Android SDK.
To avoid this, degrade your SDK version or delete unwanted folders manually. You can find the older releases from this link.

I have to free some space in my hard disk, and looking for what to delete I found that I have many Android Studio (AS) folders refering to old versions.
The route where I found that folders is: C:\Users\mysuername
What I want is the way to delete the older versions and just have the lastest one (in that moment ASPreview 1.3).
I have just to delete the folders and will be ok? Or I have to do something more to don't "break" AS?
You can also delete the older version folders instead of completely removing the Android studio as you mentioned go to C:\Users\yourUsername and delete older version folder.
i have some problems using default sdk icons where i get "recource not found" errors for definitions as "#android:drawable/ic_action_delete". I want to check the resource names from the sdk folder. Is it possible to access the sdk installation folder which is used by aide-ide on a android mobile phone which is not rooted?
Even if some of the icons are stored in the device, most of them are nor public. You cannot use them directly with the code. Even when you use them, they are not guaranteed to be in all the phones in the market.
What you should do instead is to copy those resources into your projects' drawable folders.
You can download all the latest drawable assets from Google's public repository.

Background: I have been using the Terminal-IDE program to learn about doing Android development (I like vim, for starters...).

As shipped, it supports SDK level 9. I want to support level 14 (Android 4.0+), so that I can use GridLayout instead of the more complex TableLayout.
I emailed the author, who responded in less than a day (kudos!), but, when I look for a replacement android.jar under /system on my tablet (Nexus 7 model 2), that particular jar does not exist, only many other jars with longer names that are just wrappers around dex files.
Anybody ran into this problem and solved it?
Upon further emails with the author of the environment, I found an easy solution:
Go to the system/classes directory of the T-IDE install
Rename the existing jar (e.g. - android.jar.t-ide)
Copy the android.jar from the SDK (or sdk directory within Android Studio) with an alternate name (e.g. - android.jar.studio.sdk)
Make a symbolic link from the updated SDK jar to android.jar
Now I can use GridLayout from Android 4.0 - compiles (on the tablet) and runs just fine. I did not need to update any other environment variables or configurations, as I replaced the original android.jar with a sym-link to the updated jar (and an "ls -l" will show which one is being used as "android.jar").
Note: if you get the updated android.jar from Android Studio, be sure to get the one in the sdk directory, not the one in the "plugins" directory, which won't work.
I recently upgraded computers and in the process I upgraded to using Eclipse Indigo to develop Android apps. The problem is that Package Explorer will no longer display my projects for either Android 2.3.3 or Android 3.0. It does however display earlier Android versions (e.g., 2.0 and 2.2) in their respective workspaces.
I've checked, and the SDKs for 2.3.3 and 3.0 are installed, and the application/projects are in the correct workspace. Further complicating the issue is that when I try and "Import" the 2.3.3 or 3.0 applications/projects into their respective workspaces, Eclipse won't allow me to do so because it says they already exist in the workspace.
Anyone seen this behavior before or have any idea how to correct it? Thanks!
It sounds like some of your desktop files are corrupted or not recognised by Indigo. Try moving the folders for the projects out of the workspace folder, and then importing them.
I'm used to find all SDK resources (such as images, that is what I want) in folder android-sdk>platforms>android-[VERSION_NUMBER]>data>res but I can't find the new android-14 folder.
I've updated all 4.0 tools (as you can see in the image) and the API 14 emulator works
I tried downloading the SDK folder from Android Developer, but it doesn't contain images. How can I access Android 4.0 resources?
Have you tried searching for a folder with the name android-14? I'm thinking the SDK Updater might have placed it elsewhere - all though I don't know why it would have done it.
Since you have the tools installed - the folder should be there. (I have one at least).
