Can i access aide android sdk installation path? - android

i have some problems using default sdk icons where i get "recource not found" errors for definitions as "#android:drawable/ic_action_delete". I want to check the resource names from the sdk folder. Is it possible to access the sdk installation folder which is used by aide-ide on a android mobile phone which is not rooted?

Even if some of the icons are stored in the device, most of them are nor public. You cannot use them directly with the code. Even when you use them, they are not guaranteed to be in all the phones in the market.
What you should do instead is to copy those resources into your projects' drawable folders.
You can download all the latest drawable assets from Google's public repository.

How to create configuration APKs for external sdk library added to an android project?

I'm using an external sdk in my android app. Just like my resources, the sdk also has a set of images in multiple dpi folders.
Is there a way to create configutation APKs for these resource while creating an android app bundle (.aab file)
I've tried to create an app bundle and the base-master apk turned out to contain all the resources of the library module.
I've been using this method to add the external sdk
Is there a workaround to this? or am I missing something here which can split the sdk also?
I think, the sdk I was using is not properly configured for app-bundle configuration split.
I created my own sdk and put in resources there. When I used that sdk in a different anroid app and created app-bundle, android was able to create individual configuration apks for different dpi images. It worked out perfectly fine.

Android Studio 2.1

Good Day,
I had to format my drive due to some errors, but before I did, I have copied all the zip files form the temp directory that contained the android sdk's now instead of downloading all of them again how do I install the SDK's and how do i determine where which one goes?
I have tried to set up a webserver on my localhost with all the zip files and pointed android studio to use that as a update location but for some reason it is not reading the data from there.
Please Help.
Android SDK you need to provide the location of Android base SDK folder and it shall automatically pick up Platforms folders under which all your Android version should be listed. You do not need to reinstall whole stuff.
Also make sure ANDROID_HOME and JAVA_HOME is properly set inside Environment variables and PATH

android Use Linux tools stored at assets folder

I want to use tools from Linux which not available in Android by default such as iw and iperf. I saw Android applications that use this tools (like this). There are two ways to do it.
First: get root rights on device and put file of the tool to the system/bin/ folder.
Second: put file of the tool to assets folder of Android project and somehow use it.
Applications from Play Market use second way. But I don't know, how it cuold be done. Is there any description of implementation of second way?

This the best example of what you want to do.

Missing folders in eclipse (Android Development)

I have re installed android sdk (platform 2.3.3). Now I have different set of folders on my package explorer.
For example there are folders called drawable-xhdpi , Android dependencies which weren't there before. Also by default the main.xml is now generating on RelativeLayout instead LinearLayout.
How to avoid that?
Layout-land folder is missing as well.
How can I get the previous folder set?
I guess you were using an older version of android SDK. When you reinstalled the SDK it got updated. Folders like drawable-xhdpi are automatically added to the package explorer in the newer version of Android SDK.
To avoid this, degrade your SDK version or delete unwanted folders manually. You can find the older releases from this link.

offline installation of an Android PLATFORM on Windows?

Okay so I have followed instructions on earlier questions in order to offline install the Android SDK, platform-tools and tools, and now I am trying to install an Android platform. (When I run "android list targets", it returns that there are no available targets, and the platforms folder is empty).
What types of files are actually IN the platforms directory? I have files from the repository like "system.img" and "kernel-qemu", but I don't know where to put them.
Could someone let me know what their C:\Android\platforms folder structure actually looks like for a working installation?
(NB: for background, I am able to get to the URL "dl-ssl.google.com" through my browser and even the Eclipse internal browser, but for some reason it can't be accessed from the SDK manager, so I can't download any components or platforms!!)
For what purpose you want to install android platform? If you want to develop apps, you need a lot of stuff from platform folder except "system.img" and "kernel-qemu": android.jar, ant tasks, tools and a lot of resources. If you want just to run emulator, you probably need not all of that...
This is contents of my platform folder: http://ccfit.nsu.ru/~izhovkin/list.txt
