How to develop a windows way toggle button in android? - android

I need to design a windows kinda toggle button for my android application. I dont know which one to use. I tried using SeekBar & ToggleButton. I am not able to simulate the same way.
When you click it, it will slide to the other end. Not the exact way of slider.
When you click it during if it is off. It will slide to the other end and make it enabled.
Is there a way in SeekBar that i can achieve.
For the interface i am gonna use the below icon

Maybe Switch would suit you http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/Switch.html ?

how to mimic android checkbox using button and state drawables

I want to use checkbox in RemoteViews but it does not support Checkbox object, so I think that I can achieve a similar effect using Button with custom state-list drawables. Basically I want an on/off switch which toggles on click and looks like a Checkbox.
I believe I am not the only one having this requirement so maybe someone has already made this checkbox-like button before. Please share with me the xml or point me in a direction. I don't have 100% understanding of drawables but I can find a way through it if I am heading in the right direction.
One shortcut I could take is to use an ImageButton and then alternate the images of checked/unchecked states programmatically, but I think inherent state changes would be faster.

Android: How to make sliding buttons like phone unlock button on screensaver?

I don't know how exactly this type of buttons is called that's why I can't even google about it.
You use that button to unlock phone - tap on it and move from left to right.
I'd like to add same button in my app. How to do it?
You should use SeekBar to achieve what you want. http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/SeekBar.html
Here is a good example

Try this for a library

and this for a DIY

You can overide onTouch() and change the location of the button acording to the x position. and when you lift the finger you can overide onUp() (im not sure thats the name of the method) and create an animation that will lead the button back to its place.
From your question I get that you might think its a button you can simply add from a list of buttons, well, its not. you need to manualy create it.

How to implement this Android layout?

At the top there is the favorites/styles/all channels
i don't know what that widget/control is i need to know what it is
i am certain i saw it before i just can't seem to find it again.
then there is a listview which is easy to implement no help needed there
then the same control again, i need to know how to build it.
it looks like a native Android control, i know how i can make one just like it using image buttons but i am sure i am missing something.
P.S. this is an image from sky.fm app on android
EDIT: I Do no need help with the ListView i already did that
What i do need help with is how to make the "favorites/styles/all channels" buttons if there is a way to do natively.
If there isn't a way to do natively, and you are sure just say there isn't a way to do natively ( that would be a good answer )
the perfect answer would be a working code, but i am not lazy i am already implementing the code my self
There's no native control for this. It's probably a Button or maybe ToggleButton. You could create a background xml with different states for selected true or false. And when you click the button toggle the selected state.
Top might be a custom tab layout, or just a bunch of buttons with custom styling.
Main part looks like a listview with complex row views.
Bottom almost definately is a bunch of buttons.
You can implement it using ClickableListAdapter. There is also tab implementation.try it.
Just make it using image buttons and put filters in your ListView, or create your own filter form scratch !

How to get iphone like animation for button in android

I saw one iphone application if the button is visible and we press cancel button then that button should gone. in that case there is animation "the button diposes from left to right and finally got vanished". In android i am able to rotate any view or move it from left to right. But how can i get the effect that the button destroy animation and make a button visible in that type of animation.
Thanks
Deepak
I'm not sure that I fully understand what you're trying to do, but it seems like you want to fade the button as well as translating it. If that's the case, then you can use alpha animations to change the opacity of the button. By gradually reducing the alpha to 0, the button will appear to fade away.
I have recently completed a series on animations on my blog. It is probably best to read the articles in order starting with the first, but the final article covers animating individual widgets.
To get a general idea of animations in android, check out this awesome page on quick actions. There is plenty of code and working animations with different options so you can get a full tutorial of how they work.

How to control screen birghtness with slider in android

I want users to be able to control the birghtness with a slider. Please answer in the simplest way because im a noob when it comes to android.
Controlling the screen brightness has been through here many times, for example this post.
Now, the easiest way to get a slider control is to use the SeekBar widget, which comes pretty close. Then you just hook up the OnSeekBarChange event to your function which sets the brightness to your desired value.
