I have upgraded phonegap version to 2.2 but I checked the build is still 2.1 version. Will there be any issue in upgrade of the project and running the cloud build with the version 2.1
There might be some problems. If they changed anything on how the js calls native functions from version 2.1 to 2.2, wich I believe they did because of the changes on the plugins api, some functions that you might use on your app might not work on 1 or more platforms because of the version difference.
Basically, you would be making calls from the 2.2 js version that the 2.1 native version might not understand. You might need to wait for the update on the cloud build, or revert your project back to 2.1.

So let's say I have an application on android studios using Gradle version 4.1 with Gradle plugin version of 3.0. I have added implementation 'com.facebook.android:facebook-login:8.2.1' to my build.gradle file. However com.facebook.android:facebook-login:8.2.1 is using Gradle version 4.4.
So the only way for me to use this library (and that version) is if my project is on Gradle version 4.4 or greater?
Or is there a way for me to use that library (and that version) without changing my Gradle version?
Thanks.
Update: More Info
So specifically I am talking about using the stripe API. I was on version 6.1.2 but because of some new EU law, I need to update the version I am using to at least 9.1.1.
I noticed the only time I get this error 'apptransformClasseswithdesugarfordebug' when trying to run my app, is after they update there Gradle to use version 3.4.1 from 3.4.0 (not the Gradle plugin). On version of Stripe 9.0.0, my app is able to run, however, after switching to version 9.1.1, I get that error.
Note, my project is on Gradle version 3.1.4 and when it's on Stripe version of Gradle 3.4.0, my app is able to run.
So to wrap it up, I need to know if I need to be on the same version, although I doubt it because my app works with 9.0.0 of Stripe, which is using a different version of Gradle.
I am confused about how SDK platforms work in android studio.
I have only a few SDK platforms installed, yet i am able to run my app for MeMu android 4.4.4 emulator.
When creating the project i set min version to android 4, i assume that's why it can run on android 4+. but then what are these SDK platforms and what will be missed if i dont have them installed?
Those are different versions of the SDK released for the different versions of the platform. Generally you just install the latest and use that for a new project. However not all projects jump right on updating it, so if you're working on a pre-existing app you may need to download whatever version they were using at the time.
To increase compatibility with older Android devices (4.0+) for my Cordova App I am wanting to use the Crosswalk Webview instead of the device webview. I am using Cordova Tools (CLI 6.3.0) for Visual Studio (2015 - Update 3) and have added the Plugin "Crosswalk WebView Engine" using the plugins panel in the config.xml. However, when I start up the app, debug it and inspect the useragenet (using "navigator.userAgent" from the console) it is not reporting as running using the Crosswalk WebView Engine.
Now I have heard some people suggest that you remove the Android platform, install the plugin and then rebuild, but that isn't fixing it for me. Perhaps I am removing the Android platform incorrectly? (I am just deleting the folder from disk).
Is this a case of my build steps being incorrect? Any assistance would be appreciated.
After persisting with this problem, assuming it to be a problem with my set-up, I got it working.
The key was to update everything. I installed the latest Java JDK (v1.8) - Updated mt CLI version to 6.5.0 - Installed any updates using the Android Update Manager (I also updated some files within Android Studio itself) and then finally installed Crosswalk (2.3.0).
Works like a dream now.
I'm started with a new phonegap application and I want to use the 2.2 Android API.
I've got error even in the initial project.
I can resolve these problems using a major version of the API (4.x).
Is there a way to build application with PhoneGap 2.6 for android API 2.2?
maybe I do somenthing wrong in the
./create <p1> <p2> <p3>
project.
using oracle-jdk7U21 and android-sdk-linux
the ANDROID_BIN is set to
android-sdk-linux/tools/android
EDIT and SOLVED
It's everything fine for compatibility build with Android API 16 and using a device that support API 8.
so i figured out it's ok using the android sdk 4.x and run on device with andorid 2.2 (until now)
for downloading android sdk follow the link Android
and for phonegap eclipse
I just noticed that a new version of the Android Development Toolkit was released.
I also noticed that it dropped support for Eclipse version 3.4 which is what I develop on using Pulse to get my plugins. The update site no longer hosts the older version that did support eclipse 3.4 and below. This means I can no longer use my older version since the metadata was deleted.
Would it be possible to get an update site that supports the older Android Plugin so I can continue using eclipse 3.4 as mandated by my employer?
Cheers
Ray
You can get the older ADT plugins OK, but not the older SDKs. It's not publicised but there are links which work,For example
http://dl.google.com/android/ADT-9.0.0.zip
Versions 10.0.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.0 etc are all available in zip files (just change the URL to the appropriate version number). They're all listed on this page
