How do I right justify a TextView in a Linear Layout?

I am trying to get the TextView, "tv_amount" to stay on the right side of the screen. I have tried using android:gravity="right" but that hasn't been working for me. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am expecting the transaction or "tv_amount" to stay be right justified so that end of the number is staying towards the right side of the screen.
I tried using :
android:layout_weight="0"
android:layout_gravity="end"
android:gravity="right"
but these don't seem to work obviously. I am a beginner when it comes to android development and can't seem to find any answers that have helped anywhere else. They all say to use android:gravity or some other alternative. Maybe there is something in my code that doesn't allow that.

Try it like this:

I am dumb. The issue wasn't with the code in my individual recycler view layout code. It was with my activity_main.xml. I set the recycler_view width to "wrap_content" when it should have been "match_parent." Rookie mistake.

Text not showing on my Button- Android studio

I'm new to Android studio, and I need to write something on the Button here but the text doesn't show, what can I do to solve this?
Note that the LinearLayout showed in the code is placed inside another bigger LinearLayout.

you can use somthing like this

and try to change the android:background="#drawable/yellow_border"
because you might have some padding inside of it

Fit 2 TextViews

I need to fit 2 TextViews in one line. I tried to use LinearLayout, and now my best approach is to use RelativeLayout.

And the result
As you can see it's fit's okay, but second TextView is on the right side, when I want it to be after first TextView.
When I used LinearLayout I faced problem with size of first TextView (if it have to many text in it, second TextView will go off screen). Another approach with LinearLayout gave me similar results to RelativeLayout with same problem (wrong position of second view)

This happens because you are using wrap_content. If textView1 needs the space of the whole screen, then textView2 will get nothing. Instead you can use layout_weight to always give a View his space.

Remove this line from second TextView :
android:layout_alignParentRight="true"

How to set text in center of text view

I am making the list view in which I have a image view and to its left I have to align the TextView which should have text in the center of it not the bottom of it. I have set the gravity but its only looking good in the design but when I run my app and data is fetched in list view then the text gets set in the bottom .
I will show you what I mean by this.But first let me show you how I am doing to align this

as you can see in the second picture I want this type of adjustment. and in design preview it is showing me design just like it is expected. But When I run the app it just showing me text like i showed you in picture one.
Please tell me what i am doing wrong and How to constrict this not to get out of allignment.

Use LinearLayout Instead of RelativeLayout as acheiveing something like this is pretty easy in LinearLayout

Android Textview moves other views out of the layout

In my layout I need to have a textview with two buttons next to that and one cancel button at right side (refer below image)
But when the text view is too long then the buttons near to the textview goes behind the cancel button(refer the below image)

This question has been asked multiple times, but there should have no basic layout solution to handle this. You have to write custom code to completely solve this problem.
You can use a workaround, set android:maxWidth for TextView
e.g.

android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:maxWidth="150dp"/>
