I want to test my android app on my android device, which is a Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite (also called Samsung Galaxy Fresh) GT-S7390. However, Samsung doesn't provide the OEM drivers for that device! Hence, so far, Eclipse doesn't recognize my device when I plug it in my computer.
Could I maybe install drivers of another, related device? Would it work? If yes, which device would be the closest to mine in that respect? (Here are some info on it : http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_fresh_s7390-5841.php)
Thanks in advance for your insights!
You just can try to install Samsung Kies. There're all necessary drivers implemented.
Otherwise you could try to install the Samsung USB Driver from the developer sction:

I have a samsung tablet model number GT-P5110 and i need to download the OEM USB drivers as i can't test out my apps that i have created on android studio, can someone please provide me a link of where i should download these drivers. Your help and comments will be much appriciated.
Which platform are you developing from, windows, Linux or mac OS? Samsung drivers are usually generic, not for a specific model. Samsung Kies normally works well on windows and Mac. On Linux, you don't need drivers. I had issues with my Gt-5100 playing nicely with USB 3 and USB2 on both windows and Linux. My SM-P901 played well on USB3 and USB2 on windows, but, it only played nice with USB2 on Linux. Meaning, playing with adb.
There are two drivers when your connect samsung tablet to computer. One is USB driver, and one is tablet driver. You can try to download a drivers download software from Cnet and helps you scan your computer. It will recommend you the right driver.
I'm trying to connect my samsung galaxy s6 to my macbook pro to run my apps from android studio; however, when I connect my phone to my mac via the usb cable that came with the phone, i get a notification on my phone that it is charging but my macbook and android studio do not detect it.
I have usb debugging on.
Kies and filetransfer don't work.
I cant see the directory in finder even though I have show external disks and hard disks checked.
My phone and mac are both running the latest versions of android and OSX.
Turns out that the cord provided by samsung is with mac computers due to OEM compatibility issues. Using a different cord with correct OEM data transfer compatibility will fix the issue.
I solve it by using android file transfer. Download it from android official website https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
Install it on Macbook Pro and connect your phone with cable and ROCK!
Try PdaNet, it can help you find your device's driver version and match with your device.
I'm also having this issue. I've got an s6 edge and a new macbook retina pro; so it's definitely not an issue of "old mac" to new samsung.
Edit: Fixed it by chatting with samsung.
From your phone dial *#0808# then check the MTP option to enabled. Hit reboot.
Also make sure to install smart switch on your computer, available at http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/smartswitch/
When the smartswitch window appears, hit the drop down menu, and then click the blue folder icon. That should do it.
I tried with another USB cable and it worked. Its the problem with defult USB cable coming along with mobile.
I was facing the issue with Samsung Note-8. My macbook pro was not detecting my phone. So, i just tried with another cable and it worked. there is no need to download samsun
I developed an android application and tested on Samsung mobile phone. then i tried to run that application on asus tablet. but it couldn't install the USB drivers correctly.
Can anyone helped me to run this application on asus tablet?
There are various method, one of them, You may be try this:
The simplest way to enable USB Debugging. Download ADB Toggle from Google Play. and enable it.
I have an ASUS tablet as well, and the drivers installed without a hitch for me. You could try to manually install the USB drivers: http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en Hope that helps, if not, come on back.
Picked up my S3 on launch and want to get started learning to develop for android using Eclipse. So far I'm having fun!
However, I want to be able to debug my application on the phone hardware itself and not just in an AVD. My problem is that I cannot find appropriate USB device drivers. The Samsung support site is garbage and windows update told me 'where to go'.
Has anyone got this working yet? If so, how?
For those still looking, you don't need to install the bloat. Go to:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SCH-I535RWBVZW
Click on or scroll to "Manuals & Downloads" and then USB (Driver) is available under "Downloads".

Turns out you have to install Samsung Kies to get the USB driver. Similar to the iPhone. I wanted to avoid this unnecessary bloat (i plugged my phone in and it threw a WPF exception...) and thankfully you can uninstall Kies without uninstalling the driver. Result.
After that, ADB is able to see the phone with no problem at all and I can debug on the device perfectly.
you need the usb driver for it. Once you have that installed simply connect the phone via usb to your machine, start eclipse and adb will pick up the device given that the drivers installed properly. try this link, one of these will probably have the driver. Samsung Galaxy S3 downloads
Can be downloaded on the following link

There's no need for KIES or other bloat!!
There's a very useful toolkit that does much more then kies, and it's available here:

I am trying to test my Android apps in my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 but I dont know why, I cant. It doesn't appear in the Devices tab on Eclipse.
I've downloaded the Google Drivers via SDK Manager, I've got the Samsung Drivers for Windows x64, I've put it in debugging mode, and still nothing.
This is weird, because some time ago, but in another computer, I was able to do this with my old Xperia X8 and Nexus S, with no problem.
This phone is rooted and has a MIUI Rom on it, but my old phones were rooted and had cooked rooms too, and worked perfectly.
Am I missing something?
Thanks a lot!
On your computer, go to the start menu and type devmgmt.msc (it runs Device Management. There should then be a yellow exclamation-point box thing and a name of a driver (for the one that's missing). If there exists that issue, please comment with the exact name of the missing driver. If that does not appear there, then that means it's an issue with the MIUI rom, not so much the drivers.
I personally had some custom roms that I could not get to support ADB.
Though, if I installed "Remote ADB" from the Android Market, that would work via Wi-Fi even without USB drivers, so that is another recommendation.
Go settings on phone, manage applications, development, usb debug is off by default.
