Hi I'm pretty new to Android programming. I have downloaded the Android eclipse bundle and extracted to a folder and updated the SDK. Later I have created a new 'HelloDroid' program but I am getting these error when the project is created.
Could some one please help me to fix these error and explain why these errors are occurring.
Note: I have installed support upto v.19 starting from Froyo
Set compatible values for:
minSdkVersion/targetSdkVersion in your AndroidManifest.xml
Android > Project Build Target in your project properties
Android support libraries
After that rebuild the project.

I was just coding in my Xamarin.Forms project, and suddenly, this error appeared:
Project is not compatible with monoandroid81(MonoAndroid,Version=v8.1). Project TaskX.iOS supports: xamarinios10 (Xamarin.iOS,Version=v1.0)
I donĀ“t really know what this means. Does anyone have a solution?
After a few days of messing around, it worked when I installed the latest version -
I had 8.1 installed but as soon as I installed "Android SDK Platform 28" (Latest) + updated all sdk's everything worked
maybe updating the sdk's was the solution but just make sure you specify a installed (updated) android version correctly
This is yet another failing of the Visual Studio error list. I am getting this error on my Android projects and a very similar one on my IOS project. Neither project uses NHibernate. I can unload my NHibernate project and both my Android and IOS project still build. Yet the error remains. I can change the error list filter to Build so I can ignore this IntelliSense error. It's not much of a solution but neither is Visual Studio's error list.
I fixed this issue removing an android reference on my iOS project.
Expand reference on your iOS project and look for and .Droid and remove it
[It is an image which is showing errors that I want to solve
I am using android 2.3.3 I have changed many setups but some constant problems are apearing
Gradle project sync failed.
Rendor errors
install repository and sync project.
I do a lot search and found some ways I replace gradle folder with new version of gradle but failed to solve this.As i installed repository but error is still there.
Why all setups of android are showing same problem?
Remove all previous installation.
Install java JDK 8.
Install jre.
Download latest Android studio (https://developer.android.com/studio/archive.html)
Follow these steps. (https://developer.android.com/studio/install.html)
Can you specify your system configurations?
I tried all the examples provided but still the same problem. Can you please solve this issue?
Steps that I followed
imported the android studio project to my android studio.
while building the gradle it statrs to error. the i searched about the problem in google
Then i tried https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2341134/command-line-svn-for-windows and i installed the svn from then i started my android studio then it shows the same error.
This is what i getting while i starts ma android studio.
Instead of the correct path to svn.exe you've specified a path to your Gradle build file. That's why Android studio is unable to run SVN client.
I am trying to create Android project using Android studio.
I have installed the latest Android studio and update it using the help-check for updates.
Then I tried to create my first Android project, however after the studio download the gradle, it throw a error:
Gradle: A problem occurred configuring project ':FirstAndroid'.
> Failed to notify project evaluation listener.
> Could not resolve all dependencies for configuration ':FirstAndroid:_DebugCompile'.
> Could not find any version that matches com.android.support:appcompat-v7:+.
Required by:
FirstAndroidProject:FirstAndroid:unspecified
I am not sure what's the problem.
Anyone can do me a favor?
I am sorry , I think I made a mistake before I ask this questions.
Before using Android studio , I have used eclipse and Idea together with a standalone Android sdk while this sdk cover almost all the required components.
However when I install Android studio, it use its internal sdk which do not include the components like com.android.support:appcompat-v7, after update the sdk through the Android studio, the problem is solved.
It says com.android.support:appcompat-v7 -- maybe, you need to install v7 support?
I have to note that the last time I needed to create a new project, I found the tools in a poor state: to create a project that could compile from both Eclipse and command line I had to create two new projects and manually copy files from one to another (otherwise I was getting a crazy error about null returning 1).
I was getting the same message. (Working on Mac, Android Studio 0.4.5)
Simply updating the SDK through the SDK Manager did correct the issue for me.
To correct the issue I opened the SDK manager (tools -> Android -> SDK Manager). Scrolled down to the bottom and found the Extras folder.
Downloading and installing the components in the Extras folder corrected the issue.
When I try to build my project in Android Studio I get the following error, using the gradle plugin provided with the download (v 1.6):
The specified Gradle installation is not supported by this tooling API version (1.6, protocol version 4)
When I downgrade to gradle 1.3, 1.4 or 1.5, I get this error:
Gradle: : java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.gradle.tooling.provider.model.ToolingModelBuilderRegistry
The project was originally created in Eclipse, the exported using the build gradle file option, then imported into Android Studio.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix these issues? Many thanks.
I had a similar problem and I believe that it was caused by having multiple versions of gradle on my machine. The solution I found was to use the script that Android Studio creates in your project folder (either gradlew (MacOs/Unix) or gradlew.bat (Windows)):
./gradlew assemble
This causes the correct version of gradle to be run - i.e. the version that was shipped with Android Studio.
I haven't tried creating a project within Eclipse, so I'm not sure if these scripts are created when creating your project in that way.
I think the problem is with the way Eclipse 22 exports the project. In the end the way I got my project transferred over was to create a new project in Android Studio and copy over the files from my Eclipse project into the appropriate directories in the new project.
The directory structure of projects in Android Studio is very different to the structure in Eclipse, and there are several files created when you start a new project which you don't get when importing a project from Eclipse (e.g. gradlew.bat, settings.gradle).
I also had this problem which can indeed be worked around with Mark's suggestion of using ./gradlew assemble.
However, this does not help you run Make Project from within Android Studio.
To do that, I had to go to Preferences / Gradle / Use local gradle distribution
and select any random (but NOT gradle) folder inside the project folder.
You might notice that this is marked as an invalid location, but you can ignore that, it seems...
Not a great solution, but it works.
