Google glass app distribution - android

I am developing Google glass app using GDK. I am aware that apk files can be installed in Google Glass using adb tools. But is there any other way to distribute the gdk apps, similar to Google Play Store?
Notes:
I have only GDK app and no mirror API app.
I have gone through https://developers.google.com/glass/distribute/ and https://developers.google.com/glass/distribute/update. But there is no sufficient information about how much time Google requires for testing and approval of submitted app and how to update next version(release)
Thanks in advance.

The only official Google Glass distribution channel is the Glassware.
Submission details can be found here.
Unfortunately, the Glass team generally doesn't give any time frame...

Since the Glass apps are still being tested and monitored regularly by Google, there is no fixed time frame for the same. You can always submit your app to the Glassware and post your suggestions on the update form.
Google Play Store only has the collection for Phone and Watch apps.

How can I get my App in the similar apps category at google play store?

I have published my contacts backup app at google play store. I have also run campaigns on adwords, But its still not getting any handsome user, I want to be the app in similar apps when anyone explores the relevant apps on play store, any solution, or how the google algos work to get the app in similar apps..
Google uses the information you supply when publishing your app to the Play Store to determine how it will be displayed. If you enlist your app as a productivity app on the play store, then your app is most likely to be displayed to a user who is browsing productivity apps.
Providing a category alone isn't enough for your app to be listed in similar apps section. There is only space for a few apps so Google tries to only list the most popular and apps that are in-demand. The app-ranking algorithm works very similar to the page-ranking algorithm used on Google. Several factors are taken into consideration, a few of which are how many downloads your app have and also how stable it is.

Leaderboard android Google Play Game

I would like to add a leaderboard to my android game.
Of course the easiest is to use Google Paly Game. But I'm afraid my users won't like being obliged to install Google play Game.
Can we avoid this installation?
Is it really a bad experience for the users?
Is there another solution?
Referring to this documentation, when you add Leaderboards in an Android game, installing and setting-up Google Play Services is required.
But, AFAIK, your users only need to have Google Play Services for that game feature which is already installed by default on all Android devices. So, your users won't be obliged to install it.

Can I upload an Android apk developed with Android SDK to the Amazon App Store?

have you any idea?
I want to developed app in google android sdk. which app i want to upload in amazon app store.
Please suggest me.
THANK YOU...
The Amazon devices are largely Android compatible (they say "75% of apps just work"). The biggest challenge comes if you are using Google specific services (such as Maps, Cloud Messaging, Purchasing etc) as they are not supported though there are Amazon specific alternatives that you can use.
You can get a quick (automated) evaluation of your app on their "Test your app" page to help quantify the work (if any) you will need to do.

Filter publised android application by spefic devices on google play store

I have android app published on google play store. it is visible to all users in USA. But now i want to publish my application so that only specific devices can install this application.
For this purpose, i googled a lot but not getting anything. what i found is "Google play store private channel". I tried to understand that but no luck.
I think google play private channel restrict application to specific user not devices.
Am i right ?
Please guide for the same.
http://developer.android.com/google/play/filters.html
take a look at this link, it tells you how to restrict certain devices installing or viewing your app in the play store. You can restrict access by sdk version or screen size.

Default app update

I have a lower version app installed as default app. I have a higher version of app in Google Play.
They have the same certificate. I would update the app in device automatically from Google Play. I saw the similar post below: Prompt Android App User to Update App if current version <> market version Is there a way to automatically update application on Android? but Neither of those posts answer this question. They mush have some solution. just like Goole Maps, Gmail,Pluse news and Adobe Flash player 11 do. I don't know how Google Play App can display it and how they get updated automatically? Can you help me?
Thank you in advance.
You cannot upgrade applications automatically...
There is an option in google play "Allow automatic updating". If user select this settings for your app, then it will updated automatically.
I believe for Google Maps, this settings might be turned on by default.
