How to set a fixed background in ViewPager

I have a Fragment that contains a ViewPager which allows the user to swipe through three fragments.
Here's the problem: I want the ViewPager to have a background that remains fixed when the user swipes through the fragments. I tried setting an image in my drawable as the background of the ViewPager but that didn't work.. Here's my code:

Although there are many ways to achieve this feat, this approach works for me:
Simply create a FrameLayout with two children: Your ViewPager and the view(s) you want to use as the background of your viewpager. Here's an example:

Note that you can replace the Imageview with a layout (e.g RelativeLayout) containing all the composite views you want your background to contain.

How to make view container above Viewpager "scrollable" (Toolbar is inside Activity, not Fragment)?

I have fragment, which doesn´t cointains toolbar. Toolbar must stay in activity. This fragment must show main view and bellow viewpager with two fragments. Each fragment is specific. First use custom layout, second use adapter. Each has different height. I tried a lot of libs and ideas, but none of them works as it should (it made scroll longer/shorter than it should or it made crazy UI overlays).
I am trying to do UI where it looks that this all is one layout, meaning, it is scrollable from up to bottom. But I can´t figure it out. I was thinking to use CoordinatorLayout, but I have no idea how.

Update: Yes, here are some pictures, I hope it is more clear now.

Wrap your LinearLayout inside an AppBarLayout. Actually AppBarLayout extends LinearLayout so you could just replace your LinearLayout with it.
Even if your app doesn't have a toolbar or an app bar, the AppBarLayout is the view that CoordinatorLayout coordinates with.
Adding the AppBarLayout should provide the behavior you're looking for.

This root fragment layout seems to working. I am not sure that this is best solution, but it works.
Note: I replaced listview by standard LinearLayout as root container and inflate child layouts (items) there.

show toolbar when switching page in ViewPager

I have search the Stack Overflow beforewise, but haven't found an appropriate answer to my problem.
I have an Android application with the coordinator layout that has a nested ViewPager inside. If I scroll a RecyclerView that is inside of the first fragment in a View pager, the Toolbar is hidden and shown as intended. However, my other fragments in the ViewPager do not have nested scroll, so I would like to show Toolbar if it is hidden on ViewPager page change. I wonder if I can extend the CoordinatorLayout behavior to have it nicely done.

I have found a couple of related questions like: this or this. But they focus mostly on layout problems, while I want to understand if it is real to have a nice solution to triggering Toolbar movement on demand.

So it seems that the answer is the following: wrap the Toolbar in AppBarLayout and in the code use something like: appBarLayout.setExpanded(false, true);
This does the trick for me.

Failed to Load fragments when tabs + viewpager inside scrollview ?

using material design tablayout +viewpager material design tablayout everything works perfectly but if i m trying to put parent view as ScrollView so that my whole screen can scroll once user try to see tabs fragment content as fragment contains listview so it is getting very low height on small devices.After adding scrollview my fragments of viewpager are not being displayed ?how to overcome in this situation ?

Android ViewPager, content between tabs and fragments

Hi i have a main_activity.xml like this

I've created a tab-application with the eclipse wizard, which works fine.
But now i want to add a progressbar between the tabs and the content (fragments) which should always be visible. Is this possible?

You have to add the progressbar above the viewpager in the activities xml.
