There is no system images at my Android SDK Manager - android

I searched about that for 1 whole day but there is not a clear answer that fixed my problem. I want to install system images for Android 6.0(API 23) but SDK Manager doesn't show me any options about that.
Using latest version stand-alone SDK Manager.
Tools updated to latest version also.
Checked all Add-On Sites from Tools tab.
Started it as Administrator.
My Android SDK Manager Screen
Am I missing something?

Check your SDK Update sites, make sure that it contains these entries:
https://dl.google.com/android/repository/sys-img/android/sys-img.xml
https://dl.google.com/android/repository/sys-img/android/sys-img2-1.xml

How to add newer Android Sdk's to ADT plugin (Eclipse)?

This is my first question in this site so forgive me if this is asked before.
My Laptop is very humble (Acer 5733Z) and can't run Android Studio conveniently and the CPU does not have the virtualization feature to support emulator so I use the eclipse ADT plugin for developing simple apps for android since it runs smoothly without any problems.
But the problem is that i have only up to API17 (Android 4.2) SDK installed and when I open the SDK manager to install the newer SDK' it doesn't show any newer API's as shown :
SDK manager screenshot
So, Is there any way to add SDK's manually or something ?
Any help would be extremely appreciated.
IIRC, you need to update the "SDK Tools" and "SDK Platform-tools" entries before you can download newer SDKs. You will see those highlighted with yellow download arrows, and if you click the "Install 3 packages" button, the SDK Manager will download and upgrade those packages.
you want to update your SDK Tools for newer version of android
latest is r24.4.1 in this version android 6 now available
you can see this link for detail of all sdk tools version

Android SDK Manager doesn't load the latest Android SDK Platform (API 17)

When I go to Android SDK Manager from eclipse and trying to Install new packages it doesn't allow me to install any of them.
Most of these new packages depends on installing "Android API 17 SDK platform". But the "Android API 17 SDK platform" doesn't load in the list on the Android SDK Manager for me to install.
Following is a screenshot of the message it displaying to avoid installation.
Would be grateful if someone can guide me through this. Thanks.
Clear the Cache under Tools ---> Options or disable it entirely. I've had problems before with packages not showing because of Cache.
After that Make sure the correct Sites are enabled and the Filters under Packages are correct. Then Reload the List or Restart SDK Manager.
Your still using Platform tools v12, the current one is v16. Probably because of Cache you cant update the tools and in the old tools some things wont show at all. If none of this works install the current v21 SDK with v16 Platform tools from the Android developer homepage.
This is probably a form of this known issue in R20:
http://tools.android.com/knownissues
"Explanation: The SDK Manager in Tools 20.0.0 now has a cache
mechanism -- it keeps a local copy of small manifest XML files to
perform a faster start when opened. There's also a mechanism to
automatically update the cache. However in Tools 20.0.0 and 20.0.1,
that refresh is broken and in some conditions the manager will not
show new tools that are available unless a reload is performed.
Clearing the SDK Manager cache or manually forcing a reload forces the
manager to get the latest manifest."
Maybe yo should uncheck the "Show" "Installed" at the left bottom, and it shouldshow "SDK Platform".
Try to reload the sdk manager from Packages -> Reload. and then try to install the sdks.

Install old system image with Android Tools R21

I'm stumped after doing a fresh install of Android Development Tools r21. http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
I've installed this and I am looking to create an AVD for Android 2.1 (API 7) to test some things, but I cannot find an option to install the Android 2.1 system image. In fact, nothing prior to Android 4.0 is an available system image for an AVD.
I've installed the SDK Platform but it doesn't include the system image. Based on the Official Add-on Sites, I tried to go to https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/sys-img.xml but this is essentially an empty XML file.
I've also checked the ADT Known Issues http://tools.android.com/knownissues
Finally, from How install old ADT13 in Eclipse I gleaned the possible add-on site of https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, but that doesn't pull anything into the SDK Manager either.
Does anyone know how to get this working?
Android SDK Manager
Android SDK Manager - Add-on Sites
I've solved my own issue. Apparently starting in Android Developer Tools R21
System images of Android 4.0 and newer
Installed by checking the ARM EABI v7a System Image box in the Android SDK Manager
System images of older than Android 4.0
Installed by checking the SDK Platform box in the Android SDK Manager
This was the source of confusion.
Additionally you must restart Eclipse to get it to be an available option, which I didn't do.

How to install older versions of Android via the SDK Manager?

I downloaded the Android SDK from here, as suggested by all tutorials.
I downloaded Android v4.0.3 (API 15) via the SDK manager, but it won't allow me to download older SDK/API versions, e.g 2.2?
I found this Stack question, but when i try and download one of the packages, it just 404s.
I have a single repository setup in the SDK Manager:
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml
What am i doing wrong?
My SDK manager shows that it is using
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/addon.xml
for back versions of the SDK. Make sure you have the latest version of the Android tools (it's up to 20 as of a few days ago).
So you can't check the boxes next to the other api versions ?
In the Android SDK Manager you should be able to download it.
For 2.2 that is api 8, so you would check the folder or just the sdk platform for api 8 and install.
Download the lastest version of SDK manager by using Eclipse Help->Check for updates. Once the sdk manager is updated, it will show all the older sdks

android target api not visible

i have installed android sdk.
i have also downloaded and installed the adt plugin in my eclipse ide.
now when i go to preferences to set the path for android sdk, when i set the path and then press apply-- automatically the target api should be listed below. But they are not being listed below for some reason.
what could be the problem?
thank you in advance
Within eclipse, go to Window > Android SDK and AVD Manager then choose Installed Packages from the left hand side. Do you see things like SDK Platform Android 2.3, API 9, revision 1 listed? If not then you need to download them. Select Available Packages then expand Android Repository then select the SDK versions you want to download.
