Debugging workflow with a Samsung GearVR - android

As I started working with the GearVR, I tried to deploy the app with the usb cable plugged into the GearVR case, which is not working for me. So I always unplugged the device and deployed directly connected to the phone. This is kind of annoying after a while so I thought wifi debugging is the solution, but it takes pretty long to deploy even small apps (more than 3 minutes).
Is there any solution to speed up wifi deployment
Is it possible to plug in the cable directly into the gearVR for debugging/deployment?

As far I know, Samsung GearVR is an Android device. You can do this with cable and you should be using cables. To get this to work, you must
1. Install the Samsung GearVR driver on your computer.
2. Enable DEBUGGING from Developer options.
To make sure that Unity will use cable for Samsung GearVR, it must be recognizable by Unity. Open command prompt with cmd the change your directory to AndroidSDK\platform-tools with cd /d G:\AppDev\AndroidSDK\platform-tools . Replace G:\AppDev\AndroidSDK\platform-tools with your android SDK location. then type adb devices. If no device is found then Unity wont' recognize it. Reboot your computer and try it again.

How to Connect Samsung Galaxy GT-N8000 with android studio

I have samsung galaxy note 10.1 and model GT-N8000, I want to connect it to android studio and want to run my own made app. But my android studio not showing anything and even pc do not detect it , not even popping up notification to show me that some thing is connected. I check this device to other computers but got same thing.
So what could be a problem. I have done resetting , but nothing is helpful, Updated driver, installed the google driver for usb, installed the universal driver. But nothing is really helping. So at least pc should detect it but its not.
Any solution. ? Please help
Make sure, that you chose Connect as Camera or PTP on your phone.
Go to developer settings and activate Adb-debugging or USB-debugging.
Also check, whether you have installed the correct drivers. Try to reinstall the correct drivers.
And make sure that neither your USB cable nor your USB-drive is faulty. If so try to use another cable and different usb-drive.
You could also try to connect your phone wirelessly to Android Studio
Couple of things you can try -
Go to settings, developer options and turn USB Debugging on. If it's off, Android Studio will not detect your phone.
If you PC is not detecting your device, either your USB cable is faulty or your USB drive. Only way to know is connect your phone to another USB-Drive or connect it using another cable.

Eclipse not detecting my Galaxy S3 GT-I9305 in list of devices

I know this question has been asked numerous times, but none of the threads have had an answer to solve my problem. It seems no matter what i try Eclipse just wont detect my phone, I have set it to debug mode in the settings, i've installed "Kies 3" on my laptop and it says i have the latest drivers already installed on my phone when i try to update it.
I've installed the google USB driver package from the sdk manager and have downloaded and installed the samsung driver from the samsung website. Windows recognizes the device and in the device manager under android phone it appears as "SAMSUNG android ADB Inerface".
Im running windows 7 and have even tried deleting all the mounted dive drivers from regedit as i seen suggested in another thread but still no joy! Really starting to get frustrated with this at this stage i've been trying for two days now to figure this out!
This is such a pain! I need to be able to debug on my phone too as i'm using features that the emulator can't handle (i.e. audio recording). I'm all out of ideas here so any help would really be appreciated!
Thanks
The method I followed to install my GT-I9300 drivers was this:
Download samsung drivers from this link:
http://developer.samsung.com/android/tools-sdks/Samsung-Andorid-USB-Driver-for-Windows
Then just connect your phone and make sure you have a stable Internet connection: It will download required drivers automatically.
Also, make sure you have enabled Android developer options in your phone settings. Enable USB debugging in developer options.
I usually get it to work, when I switch the USB mode in my smartphone (e.g. MTP to PTP). This way, windows starts downloading more drivers.
1) Try disconnecting device from PC, revoke USB Debug authorization from settings menu, and then re-authorize the computer you are working on once you connect it again.
2) Check to see if you see the phone in DDMS perspective (left hand side) - if so, try clicking on it and it should work.
3) try removing all drivers (Google, Samsung etc.) + scan "leftover" registery entries using a reg cleaning program. Then install ONLY Kies Light version and try again.
4) It once worked for me - try changing the USB cable (preferably, to an original one)
Let us know if something worked!
1) enable USB debugging in your phone's settings.
2) ensure that you have the proper drivers installed.
3) open adb in command prompt and run "adb connect"

can't get Lenovo a60+ to appear as an available android device in eclipse

Are there any alternative ways to get it to work?
Even the adb command of android sdk doesn't detect my phone. Then some said I need to install the phone drivers first, I thought the phone automatically does it when plugged in while usb debugging is enabled, but it appears that it doesn't.
I searched for the driver, but was unlucky, it was not included in the memstick that came with the phone. Even the lenovo website doesn't provide it.

Viewsonic Viewpad 10s not recognised by PC (over USB)

I'm about to start writing some Android applications, I have downloaded Jave/Android and Eclipse.
I have a test Android tablet (Viewsonic Viewpad 10s) which I will be running the software on.
I was hoping to be able to just plug the Android device straight into my PC to allow me to debug/run applications on the tablet.
I have purchased a male->male USB cable and plugged it into both devices, but nothing happens, it doesn't even come up with an 'unknown device' in the 'devices' window. Is there something else I need to be doing to get Windows to recognise this device? (I'm running Windows 7 (64bit)).
Alternatively, is this the best way to be running/debugging on the tablet? I was thinking that there might be a network debugging application, as both devices are on the network?
I'm totally new to Android, so might be missing something obvious. Although I have set the 'USB Debugging' within the 'Development' menu.
Thanks in advance.
Rich.
It's a Windows problem, Windows isn't capable of recognize your tablet on its own, you need to install the appropriate USB drivers for your device in order to use your tablet when it is connected to your PC.
Under a GNU/linux distribution like Ubuntu everything is much more easier and you can just plug in your device without installing anything, you just have to set the right permissions for the device once.
Unplug the device from your machine
Install the driver for your device : http://www.viewsonic.com/support/downloads/drivers/_download/tablet/viewpad10s/ViewPad_10s_USB_driver.zip
Plug your device in
look at the device for a notificaiton saying debugging enabled.
If you dont, you will need to open Device Manager, find the listing that your computer thinks the device is and right click and uninstall it. Then unplug and replug.

can't get ADB to recognize my galaxy

I've followed this post trying to run my application on my galaxy. My app is debuggable, USB debugging is checked on phone and I've manually installed USB drivers - my device manager shows me that I have Android ADB Interface installed.
Despite it all - when I am running adb devices it would only list the emulator.
Any ideas? thanks!
P.s. I am running windows 7 and the mobile is Samsung Galaxi 1900I
I use Droid X, in Win 7.
sometimes it is not work too (adb can't detect my device)
but the solutions is simple, just switch usb connection into Windows Media Sync (ie. from PC Mode) , it is work for me.
also make sure to set your device in Debug mode (USB Debugging)
Yotamoo, When you first plug in, Windows offers you some choices on how to deal with the new device; Open in File Explorer, etc...one of them is Windows Media Player. Choose that. I had similar problems and this solution worked for me and my galaxy S3...
hakim, why does this work?
Make sure you installed the USB Drivers.
Locate your phone in Device Manager and see if it working correctly.
These are the correct drivers.
Turn Debugging mode on on your phone.
You will be prompted to accept USB debugging on your device if it detects some application would like to use it.
After you agree it will pop up as a debug-able device.
I had the same problems.
Try to update your smartphone in the device manager (computer->properties).
