How to install android system images from a local image - android

I have been trying to download a system image for AVD in android studio. in the sdk manager. But it is painfully slow for some reason. It shows in log that it is downloading from a specific link, so I went ahead and downloaded that via some other tool.
Now my question is, now that I have downloaded the zip. How do I make it so that the SDK manager will look up a local resource instead of the remote image?

Moving the extracted folder into ANDROID_SDK_HOME\system-image\android-25\ does the trick.

Where to extract downloaded System Image File of android to run in android emulator

I wanted to run android 12 in android studio emulator.
When I started downloading the system image file from android studio, due to some network issues it failed many times. So I thought to download the system image file manually from this link https://dl.google.com/android/repository/emulator-windows_x64-8807927.zip that was shown in android studio when I tried to download the system image file before. Now I have downloaded the system image file manually but I don't know that where I have to extract it. First I tried extracting it on /Users/USERNAME/Library/Android/sdk but it didn't worked. So please tell me the location to extract the files. I will be grateful.
I think you should unzip it and let it lie where it is. Then go to your device settings and change your emulator's system image to S(android 12). That is what worked for me.

Install Android SDK sources-30_r01.zip and platform-30_r03.zip manually (Windows 10)

Android Studio SDK Manager cannot download https://dl.google.com/android/repository/sources-30_r01.zip or https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-30_r03.zip because of the company's SSL interception (it runs a scan on some files before it lets you download them). But I can manually download these files by putting the links in a browser and waiting for the scan to complete.
How can I make Android Studio SDK Manager install these zip files from disk, rather than trying to download them, on Windows 10? I have tried to find out on the internet but all of the answers are either out of date or do not quite apply to this situation. Thanks.
I had SDK problem similar to yours. I followed the steps;
Download https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-30_r03.zip
Go to the directory
C:\Users\computer-name\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\platforms
Unzip platform-30_r03.zip ( will create an android-11 folder)
Delete platform-30_r03.zip after file extraction is complete
Restart Android Studio

Is there anyway to download emulator image to configure it manually for Android Studio?

I want to animage for Android Studio Emulator but I don't want to do that from AVD Manager. I want to download it from a website so I can use this image in any other computer by copying and pasting it instead of wasting time every time I format my computer and reinstall Android Studio.
Is there anyway to do that? Or it must be downloaded and configured by Android Studio?
by the way, I use version 3.4.
The emulator images are in ~/.android/avd You can copy subdirectories (along with the .ini files) from there.

How can I use the system image downloaded from IDM in Android Studio?

I've downloaded system image for Nougat (7.0) version in Android Studio, but during the middle, my bill has gone so the download stopped. However it said download complete. So,I clicked finish. Then I download the same system image by copying URL to IDM, where I finished the download completely. So, instead of the system image that I've download in Android Studio, I want to use the system image from IDM. I don't know how to do it.
SHORT AND EASY PROCESS:
In the avd choose the system image you have downloaded and start downloading it in Android Studio. But as soon as the download starts cancel it. This will result in the creation of the folder in which the image will be copied by Android Studio. Now go to your Android SDK directory. Then find the folder system-images but then you will have to find .installer in the directories. Delete it and paste the extracted android system image. Restart your Android Studio. That's it.
LENGHTY PROCESS:
Go to your Android SDK directory. Then find the folder system-images. Then create a folder but be very careful in naming it. The API of the android system image should be its name. Then again create a folder and name it ( The type of system-image ) then if its 86x then again create a folder and name it 86x. Now here extract your files.
In my case the the place where the img files are, is:
E:\Android_SDK\system-images\android-28\google_apis_playstore\x86
An image which might help you.

Android SDK - Install system image packages offline

due to IT restrictions I cannot use to package-install-automation of the Android SDK.
To be able to create an emulator in Androids' AVD manager, I first of all need a system image for my target device.
But regarding the below screenshot I haven't installed any.
So can anyone tell me:
1. where to get an system image for Android 6.0 API Level 23
2. how to install this system image manually/offline
Thank you in advance!
Firstly select the system image to be downloaded in android studio sdk, then it will start downloading the image and will say Downloading from <url>. Copy that URL and download from some download manager like IDM and after downloading, extract the files in system-images folder.
The directory structure pattern is sdk-folder/system-images/android-<api_number>/google_apis/x86 (or armeabi-v7a).
So, extract in correct pattern and then open the android studio sdk, you will see that the package is installed.
Now, you can make a virtual device from the downloaded system image.
SDK manager does not work for you?
In any case, there are several sites which can be used to download Android SDK system images:
https://web.archive.org/web/20191210131925/http://ady.my/viewer/system-image/
http://www.hariadi.org/android/manual-download-of-android-sdk-components/
Or alternatively Hard way :
for Windows, using the SDK Manager,
First make sure you have download caches enabled, then fetch/reload the packages. Then go to My Computer and open folder .android: =>
C:/Users/your_username/.android/
(Make sure you have enabled "show hidden files" option)
In there try to locate several xml file in cache dir. Those xml files contains URLs and other data of all the sdk package. Every package available in sdk manager can be downloaded through appropriate URL from there.
Open XMLs in IE and try to find what you need. Then you can use URLs from there and you're good to go.
Hope this helps
you can follow this link for manually installing the System Images for emulator, i just installed Android 6.0 (sysimg_x86-23_03) so that i can still render Marshmallow layouts in Eclipse.
These are the sites from where you can download them offline.
Mostly you will require Intel x86 System image or Intel x86_64.
First, but on this site every version of System image is most recent so you can download :
Intel x86-23_r0X from here (Revisions are from 03 to 09)
Intel x86_64-23_r0X from here (again, Revisions are from 03 to 09))
Hope i helped those who are looking for solution for older Intel System Images for Android 6.0.
For those with difficulty in finding the correct path to install. The path will depend whether the image is a playstore image or not.
You can figure out by looking at the images download link:
If the download link is inside the folder google_apis, e.g:
https://dl.google.com/android/repository/sys-img/google_apis/<api-file-name>.zip
Your folder structure should look like:
sdk-folder/system-images/android-<api_number>/google_apis/
But if the download link is inside the folder google_apis_playstore, e.g:
https://dl.google.com/android/repository/sys-img/google_apis_playstore/<api-file-name>.zip
Then your folder structure should look like:
sdk-folder/system-images/android-<api_number>/google_apis_playstore/
