I'm writing an Android application under Python 2.7 using the Kivy library and buildozer to build/deploy it to the Android device. The device in question is an Asus ZenPad 3s 10, with the debugging options turned on. It is NOT rooted, as I understand this device can't be rooted at the moment.
I can build the apk, but when I run buildozer android deploy run logcat > log.txt, the application never gets past the Kivy splashscreen on the tablet, with the only message being "ETS Demo has stopped".
In the log, the cause of the problem seems to me to be given by the lines:
--------- beginning of crash
08-03 18:39:41.807 441 441 F libc : unable to stat file for the executable "/system/bin/sh": Permission denied
08-03 18:39:41.807 441 441 F libc : Fatal signal 6 (SIGABRT), code -6 in tid 441 (sh)
08-03 18:39:41.807 441 441 F libc : Unable to open connection to debuggerd: Connection refused
I don't know what these mean, and I haven't been able to find anyone with a similar problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here is my buildozer.spec file:

EDIT:
Here is a link to the full log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1jpg2jx2ddxqul0/log.txt?dl=0
I am building on Ubuntu 16.04. My hardware specs are as follow:
Memory: 16.6 GiB
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 CPU # 3.60GHz x 8
Graphics: Gallium 0.4 on NV126
OS type: 64-bit
The tablet I am trying to deploy to is running Android 7.0. I can't say much about the app as I am under an NDA, but it involves facial feature recognition using the mobile device's camera. I am not using scipy directly, but I included it in the requirements list because other libraries I am using depend on it.
I'm having issues getting an emulator to work on my system. I'll update the post as soon as I get it working.

i guess thats all the information i've got.
i've changed the versions in my main.py and in the specs and got nothing.
i'm gonna try to change my ubuntu version as well, and see what i can do
By default, buildozer looks for a line in your main.py of the form __version__ = 'something'. This is used to set the apk version, a required field.
You can either add this line to your main.py, or comment out the version check and uncomment the alternative version method on the next lines of buildozer.spec. This lets you set the version string in buildozer.spec itself.
Add __version__ = '0.1' at the top of your main.py file so you can package your application without any error.

maybe it would help to install these?
on ubuntu
sudo apt install build-essential autoconf libtool
should provide these to you.
AttributeError: 'AnsiCodes' object has no attribute 'LIGHTBLUE_EX'
this seems to come from buildozer logger, and its usage of colorama, maybe try to pip-install a more recent version of colorama?
pip install --user -U colorama
hope this helps.
I'm building mobile application however when I compile it, it crashed. This is my buildozer.spec doc:

You are using pip version 7.1.2, however version 8.1.2 is available.
You should consider upgrading via the 'pip install --upgrade pip' command.
I tried to pip --version it says the version is pip 8.1.2
I'm trying to package my kivy app and I'm having problems with buildozer. Some weeks ago it worked in a right way but today I got this error:

I've been reading about this error (https://github.com/kivy/buildozer/issues/205) and maybe the problem is with the version of the sdk and ndk. Here I attach my buildozer.spec file because maybe I'm doing something in a wrong way.

Well, after looking for the answer in some forums I have achieved the correct way to fix the issue. In the buildozer.specfile I changed the sdk version to the last version avaible:
# (int) Android SDK version to use
android.sdk = 24
After that I executed buildozer and tried to download the version I've specified in the .specfile, and this time the creation of the apk file was well done.
I've just started learning Kivy and am trying to compile my first application. It's a super simple application that I have copied from a beginner tutorial. When I use
buildozer --verbose android debug
I get the following error
# Package the application
# project.properties updated
# Run '/usr/bin/python build.py --name TestApp --version 1.2.0 --package org.test.testapp --private /home/aphid/orkiv/.buildozer/android/app --sdk 14 --minsdk 8 --orientation sensor debug'
# Cwd /home/aphid/orkiv/.buildozer/android/platform/python-for-android/dist/testapp
File "build.py", line 186
print '%s: %s' % (tfn, fn)
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
# Command failed: /usr/bin/python build.py --name TestApp --version 1.2.0 --package org.test.testapp --private /home/aphid/orkiv/.buildozer/android/app --sdk 14 --minsdk 8 --orientation sensor debug
I initially thought it may have been a dependencies problem, but I've checked and I'm pretty sure I have everything required (javac etc, along with 32bit dependencies). So at this point I'm lost.
I'm using Arch Linux and buildozer with python2.7.
Here's the buildozer.spec:

I've googled the hell out of this but can't even seem to work out exactly what the error means. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
It seems the problem is that using buildozer on Arch isn't as simple as just installing it. I followed the directions in this Github post for getting buildozer to work on Arch and that seemed to fix the problem.
So Yes I'm trying to build my first android app with kivy and buildozer. This is an error that I've searched for but haven't found a conclusive answer to. I'd give more details but I'm not sure how to read the output
Here is the end of the readout:

# List as sections
#
# You can define all the "list" as [section:key].
# Each line will be considered as a option to the list.
# Let's take [app] / source.exclude_patterns.
# Instead of doing:
#
# [app]
# source.exclude_patterns = license,data/audio/*.wav,data/images/original/*
#
# This can be translated into:
#
# [app:source.exclude_patterns]
# license
# data/audio/*.wav
# data/images/original/*
#
# -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Profiles
#
# You can extend section / key with a profile
# For example, you want to deploy a demo version of your application without
# HD content. You could first change the title to add "(demo)" in the name
# and extend the excluded directories to remove the HD content.
#
# [app#demo]
# title = My Application (demo)
#
# [app:source.exclude_patterns#demo]
# images/hd/*
#
# Then, invoke the command line with the "demo" profile:
#
# buildozer --profile demo android debug
Although Buildozer supports Python 3, it uses Python-for-android to compile your APK. Python-for-android does not support Python 3. You need to make sure your code works with Python 2.7 and run buildozer using Python 2.7 to compile for Android.
