I own a reward app and the dev of the app has abandon the project.
So im alone in this and i dont know how to integrate 2 advertising networks into my app...They share the SDK for monetization and i must put it in the android studio and make build the apk again to update it in google play.
I cant figure out how to do it..I would like to use their offerwall only.
if it seems hard to understand pls tell me to send the info you need.if it is simpler to do it someone for me i have no problem.
It sounds like you want to take someone else's code, which they worked hard on. You then want to change the advertising network id so you get the money. You then want to upload the result to Google Play. This sounds an awful lot like stealing someone else's work. I'm not going to help you with this, and I doubt anyone else will on Stack Overflow either.

I'm thinking about sending my apk to a few willing friends to have them help test my app. Some of them are developers, some are not. I would like to make it extremely easy for them to be able to send me a logcat of a crash.
I suppose I could give them a zip with a batch file, adb, and whatever adb needs to run. The batch could use adb to get a filtered logcat. However, I don't know much about logcat's command line flags. What do I need to know about logcat to make this happen? I'm not even sure this is the best approach. This requires them to have their drivers installed and working and android debugging on... Things that some of my friends probably wouldn't do.
I think I could add my app to the market with a beta build, but this isn't something I've ever done before. Would using the Android Market to distribute the beta allow me to knit-pick my friends and only allow them to get my app? Will they be able to send me feedback if they do this?
Are there other approaches I don't know of? I would love if there's an on-device solution that doesn't require them to plug into a computer or have a rooted device.
I think Google Play Testing is okay for your. You can give access to Google+ Group (only your friends) or ony to several email addresses. For example, you can collect feedback in group. For more details check this link: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/3131213?hl=en
I think it's really the most easiest solution.
I released my first android app yesterday, and got the direct link to the app working after 6 hours. But Its been > 24 hours now, and it still doesnt show up in the search on playstore.
I have been searching in the playstore both from my android device, as well as from desktop browser. The app simply isnt there.
Is this common? Is there something I can do to check the status/find out whats happening?
Thanks a lot
EDIT: the direct link is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidinput
EDIT: The issue was indeed that the name "Droid Input" was too general. Changed it to Moused . Hopefully it makes it a tad better once the update is pushed to prod. Thanks for all your help!
Sometimes newly published apps take time until they appear in search results. The app needs to be indexed in the Play Store before it starts appearing in search results. Also, make sure the app name has enough unique keywords so that it's easier to spot while searching.
All my apps were searchable minutes after the direct link started working. Can you post the name of your app.
Check those in Developer console
published area
minimal Android os
make sure it's published in developer console
If it's all right, don't worry, just wait to published
If your app have any problem google will send email to you
First of all,
you must check if you have no other updates,
second check if the website is not under going several changes if so than you might have to wait a couple of days
check your device for any out of the normal activity
if this is not resolved make sure to contact the company and explain them your issue,
regularly it shouldn't be happening to only you so there might be others with the same issue as you, it is unlikely that it could be your device but there is always that possibility that it might.
I released and Android app, and I want to be able to collect comments in some sort of programmatic fashon. I've looked around the the web and can't seem to find any Google API or any 3rd party service. Does anyone have any suggestions or know something I don't?
I was thinking about writing some sort of HTML scraper to just extract them from the developer console, but I wanted to get some feedback before I start that little adventure.
Thanks
You can use the unofficial Android Market API (It is still called like that).
It scrapes the content from the play store, so you can do all kind of things with it:
E.g. get the description, app logo, comments etc.
Recently I published my new application in Android Market. This application contained Android Licence. This Licence was working perfectly fine, when I put my own apk on my phone, there is a dialog that will pop out saying I need to buy this application on the market. However, today I saw my application on some forum and when I tested it, the license was not working, I can get in to the application without buying it. Is there something I am doing wrong?
And also can you give me some tips that can help me to stop this hackers. I am thinking to have a Push Notification on my main activity which will pop out only when I have a new updates therefore people who are not registered can't get this new updates. But the real problem is I don't know how to accomplish this. If you have a better solution can you please tell me, I am planning to publish my new app soon but I am thinking to delay it for a while because of this kind of piracy that is going on. Please help me, I have been working on this new application for several months and I don't want this kind of piracy to happen again.
I don't think you can get your licensed application through the market without buying it. I'm not sure why you would want to, since you can just compile it and install it yourself with ADB.
However, I wouldn't worry too much about people pirating your software. Any good or even marginally skilled cracker is going to be able to remove any security you have anyway. In my experience (from both ends of the playing field), the game always comes down to cat and mouse, and you will end up wasting time instead of adding features, fixing bugs, etc.
Look into ProGuard.
It comes free with the Eclipse/Android stuff.
ProGuard presumably makes it more difficult for people to decompile and modify your application package to defeat the licensing check.
I do not know how well ProGuard actually is at discouraging piracy.
I'm confused about AdMob. I just signed up and I want to put ads in an app. I went to add site/app thinking this was it. There is a question and field that says Android package url. I clicked the question mark and it talks about formatting it like this market://details?id=. First, it talks about how it will link my app to ads so if someone clicks on it then it will go to my app in the marketplace. Well I haven't put the app in the market place yet and I don't think that is even a correct URL and I trying to get adds in my app not me make an add about my app. Can someone please enlighten me on how this all works and how to get it set up where I can have ads on an app. Thanks
When signing up for AdMob they want to see where your application currently is, but this isn't an essential part of the process from your point of view.
Basically, for AdMob (as well as a whole slew of other similar sites) you download a small SDK that you include in your Android application. This SDK usually has a View that you can plop on one of your Activities. You give that control some information, like a private AdMob key (so it knows which person you are) and then that control will provide an ad from the server. Note: it usually doesn't work right off the bat and there is a "development mode" setting you can set to always pull back a fake ad while you are just working on it.
You may also want to sign up for multiple sites and check out AdWhirl which allows you to manage the ratio of ads you display from each site, since you will find that some sites will generate more revenue for you than others.
Good luck!
Though its an older post, but still if it helps anyone who wants to display ads in their app. Based on many of findings with friends I would suggest to look for other ad network than admob. Imagine you set all things right, follow rules correctly, feel happy about your earnings through ads on your admob console and then suddenly one fine day you get an email from google admob that your account is suspended for invalid activity. Well what does it mean? In simple terms, it means google don't tell you what did you do wrong and will keep all your earnings. It's natural for every newbie developer to settle with admob being google's own ad network. But dont fall for this trap, if you don't want to lose your money better avoid admob.
It would be nice if readers share their experience with other ad network. It can help all of us I think.
Edit: I put this in a comment originally, but seemed suited better as an answer.
Google keeps switching the location of the Admob integration instructions which is driving me nuts. It has moved 3 times in the past 6 months. It originally was nicely done in wiki format, then moved to a PDF and now it is part of the Google code website which is here.
On this site you will find what you need, but unfortunately, you will have to dig a bit to get everything you need.
