Detect mobile application users by google analytics - android

we have a mobile website. for example link is m.xyz.com. and a android hybrid app in which we are loading m.xyz.com in webview.
We have implemented google analytics tacking in this website to track page view.
In Google analytics, it is showing all users (mobile browser + android app).
we need a real time user in GA of android application and mobile website.
Is it possible? if yes let me know possible ways.

Unfortunately, you cannot create a custom "real-time" report, but with a little tagging, you can utilize the "Traffic Sources" real-time report.
In your android app, instead of referencing "m.xyz.com" in webview, reference "m.xyz.com?utm_source=myapp&medium=webview", then in the real-time report you should see traffic from Medium "webview" and source "myapp".

we have tried to accomplish this task, but due to time constrain we have not completed our research on this.
Finally We have choose option to publish same website on new subdomail (m2.xyz.com) with new tracking code.

Does Salesforce Marketing Cloud support Android App Links

I know Deep linking with iOS application is supported by SFMC and I found documentation at here
But I am unable to find any documentation which provides details on supporting deeplining for Android application. Does marketing cloud supports android app links at all? Thanks
I think it still don't, but you might want to check with support once. See if you could use some work around' like https://app.urlgeni.us/
I would say is partially supported as depends on the platform, not really on the email coded as is exemplified here:
However, if other apps installed on a user's device can handle the same intent, users might not go directly to your app. For example, clicking a URL in an email from a bank might lead to a dialog asking the user whether to use the browser or the bank's own app to open the link.
So that depends on the configuration of the itents of the app to catch that request and how the user has configured the default handler on the device's system settings.

Map adClick --> appInstallation using Firebase

I'm new to Firebase. I've been using Analytics in the past and AdWords as well (on web projects) but never managed to put my hands on Firebase yet.
A customer is asking me to map how many users will be installing his forthcoming app coming from each separate ad he published online, in order to understand which ads are the most profitable ones.
This seems to me to be a fairly normal use case but, believe it or not, I wasn't able to retrieve a proper guide about this topic. In my mind I imagine some kind of console in which I can see for each ad URL or ID the number of clicks and PlayStore/AppStore views and - possibly - how many of those clicks converted to an app installation.
The app will be published on both Android and iOS.
Could anybody help me getting any information about this topic?
Thank you
Marco

Use Google Assistant to directly talk to my Android app and execute a very simple task

I am working on a project to integrate the Google Assistant with an existing Android app. The requirements are simple. Assuming my app is named TestApp and I want it to just change the background color of the app home page, I want to be able to say,
"Hey Google, Change background to black on TestApp".
I was given links to ActionsSDK, but looking into it, I see that it is only a stand-alone app that extends Google Assistant and has nothing to do with android itself.
The closest API I found that does what I need is the Voice Interactions. This is very similar to what I need done but it only allows preset voice triggers such as "call this person..." or "set alarm at...", but cannot do "change background..." like in in my example. According to this link, custom voice actions aren't allowed.
So my question is, is it possible to directly interact with my app and have it do a very simple task?
Thanks
You may want to connect an Android app property with your Actions project to sell your digital goods in the Play store. Implement digital transactions to sell your Play store items as part of a conversation with your Action.
To connect an Android app with your Actions console project, you will first need to connect a website to your project. Follow the instructions provided above in Connecting a website.
Once you've connected a website, under Android app, click the Connect App button and follow the instructions shown. Once you have completed the instructions over in the Play console, it may take up to 24hrs before the connected Android app is reflected in the Actions console.
Try this in Action on google
Right now there is no way to do communication between Android App and Google Assistant. If your GA is built upon Dialogflow API (specifically not using action-on-google), then you can use Dialogflow Android client in your Android App to communicate with Dialogflow Agent.
I wrote an app for my own use to brighten the screen when I was in bright sunshine and could not see the screen by asking the assistant to launch the app. Then on launch I executed code to make the change. A cheesy work-around I know :-)
you can try using this
[1]: https://docs.slanglabs.in/slang/
This will allow you to perform several actions through voice inside your app. You can use the console to add actions and utterances and there are some sample apps which might help you.
I have used it in a lot of my apps.
Feel free to reach out in case you need help, good luck!

Why do I see results on my Google Analytics portal even before I run my app?

I got a new Google Analytics ID for my Android app (a game) in development (unreleased) around a week ago.
Only today, I integrated Google Analytics SDK into my game, tested it and made it send events.
For the first time, I opened my Google Analytics portal for my game and much to my astonishment, it has recorded app "views" and "sessions" from last week even before I integrated the SDK into my game (which is still unreleased).
It has recorded 40 "new users" yesterday. It doesn't make any sense.
Is there an explanation for this?
PS: Under "top device models", it shows iPhone which is impossible since my game doesn't work on iPhone.
I did check to ensure that this is the right GA ID and there is no doubt that my game is correctly associated with the GA ID.
What you are seeing are the activities of spam "visits", where the hits don't actually visit your site but rather simply, and agnostically, target your property ID. So whether you have a web app or a native mobile app, you may be hit with these "visits". You will need to set up filters to prevent these activities from affecting your data, including a filter to only allow hits from a white listed set of valid hostnames and a filter on the campaign source. This article has some great tips on how to set those up: http://www.analyticsedge.com/2014/12/removing-referral-spam-google-analytics/

Modify the Facebook account or privacy settings via an Android App

I am developping an Android application that uses a Facebook component. It would be something to simplify the management of the Facebook privacy settings with the user only having to push 2 or 3 buttons to apply a whole set of privacy parameters to his/her account.
For example, by pushing the button "paranoid", my settings change as:
default privacy for new wall posts = only me
secure browsing ON
...
And by pushing "free givaway":
secure browsing OFF
default privacy for new wall posts = everyone
...
Just an example.
I'm just beginning, so I had a look at the Facebook SDK for android, implemented the few examples like the Hackbook, etc.
But I'm still wondering how to manage privacy settings. I understand it would be a security concern to let an app manage that kind of thing, but why not?
Since I couldn't find a clear answer inside the bowels of internet, my questions are:
Is it doable? Or even partially?
If not, why? Will it be possible in the future?
If yes, how? What part of the API should I use?
Thanks.
This is not doable via the graph API because managing settings isn't available to write/update. I am almost positive this will never be available via the API. The Facebook native app may or will allow this but Facebook itself makes that app and doesn't use their own api for their app.
If you really wanted to do this, you could break Facebook's terms of service and do this via scraping Facebook's desktop site.
