flutter in vs code gives me "Could not locate aapt. Please ensure you have the Android buildtools installed.
No application found for TargetPlatform.android_arm64.
Is your project missing an android\app\src\main\AndroidManifest.xml?
Consider running "flutter create ." to create one."
Although my build tools are up to date.
Going into the folder where the android sdk is located and under the 'build-tools' delete everything inside it, then using android studio re install the build tools this will fix the issue

I'm on Android Studio 4.1.1. I created a new project and haven't added anything to the starter code and whenever I click build or run, I get this error:
Installed Build Tools revision 32.0.0 is corrupted. Remove and install again using the SDK Manager.
I am using android studio for the first time and wanted to print a simple hello world program , and this is becoming pain in the ass.
Please try the following instructions (assuming you are working on MS Windows):
Firstly, locate your SDK folder, e.g. %ANDROID_SDK_ROOT%.
Copy (NOT Rename) %ANDROID_SDK_ROOT%\build-tools\32.0.0\d8.bat to %ANDROID_SDK_ROOT%\build-tools\32.0.0\dx.bat
Copy (NOT Rename) %ANDROID_SDK_ROOT%\build-tools\32.0.0\lib\d8.jar to %ANDROID_SDK_ROOT%\build-tools\32.0.0\lib\dx.jar
Verify if build issue has been fixed.
trying to develop a simple app for Android device. Have installed android studio 3.1 on Windows 10 machine and trying to build "hello World" app. keep getting error = "Cause: aapt2 is missing on 'C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\build-tools\27.0.3\aapt2.exe'". aapt2.exe is not in the 27.0.3 folder only aapt.exe.
What am I missing? Shouldn't this just work ?
The SDK manager sometimes messes up when downloading build tools. It's not necessary to re-install Android Studio - just delete the build tools folder/version that's missing the executable and re-download that.
Open File > Project Structure and select app under Modules category from left bar. Then select a higher Build Tools Version from properties tab. The error must be gone.
In gradle.properties file put this line: android.enableAapt2=false
It worked with me
I'm on windows7 x64, installed today's latest stable release of android sdk studio (through android studio bundle, since it's shipped together now apparently). I have properly configured the environment variables as you'll see above.
This is what I get when issuing the following command
$ cordova build android
ANDROID_HOME=G:\installs\Android\sdk
JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121
Error: Could not find gradle wrapper within Android SDK. Might need to update your Android SDK.
Looked here: G:\installs\Android\sdk\tools\templates\gradle\wrapper
And indeed, the "templates" directory doesn't even exist in my sdk install.
I've already tried the suggestions (setting the right path, uninstall/reinstall) of this question here but nothing applies to my case, and I find that manually copying and pasting packages is not really a solution, since there's a package manager in place.
If anybody has an answer as of today's android install, would be very much appreciated.
If still not working then copy all file from gradle\wrapper from Android Studio installation folder
C:\Program Files\Android\Android
Studio\plugins\android\lib\templates\gradle\wrapper
and paste it in your Android SDK gradle\wrapper then run same command.
E:\android-sdk\tools\templates\gradle\wrapper
This is a known issue; see CB-12544. For now you'll need to downgrade.
I downloaded Android SDK r25 manually and placed templates folder inside Android/sdk/tools. This solved the issue for me.
You can get it from https://dl.google.com/android/repository/tools_r25.2.3-macosx.zip
For Windows:
https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html
Go to the section :"Get just the command line tools"
There is a link 'sdk-tools-darwin-3859397.zip' for Mac, Unfortunately that didn't have the templates folder with Gradle Wrapper. So for Mac users, i will suggest not to go for this zip.
I'm trying to build Terminal Emulator for Android. I'm running Android Studio 1.4 in Kubuntu 15.04. I also tried building it in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with the same results. The project requires the latest Android NDK, SDK 22, and SDK 11 which I've downloaded and configured in Android Studio. My system gradle version is 2.8, and Android Studio has downloaded some other versions internally. I'm using jdk1.8.0_65, which is set to JAVA_HOME and configured in Android Studio. I've built several other projects with my configured Android Studio and only seem to have a problem with this project. I need to use this project as a base for an app I'm developing.
I end up with same error, posted below, no matter what route I take to fix it in Android Studio. This is generally what I've done to try and get the project to work. I open up the project unmodified in Android Studio. I click Build >> Rebuild Project. I get an error telling me ndk implementation is deprecated. I add a file gradle.properties to the root directory of the project with the line android.useDeprecatedNdk=true and rebuild. It gives me an error: Task 'generateDebugTestSources' not found in project. I execute Sync Project With Gradle Files to resolve it. Then I end up with the following error and can't get past it.
Gradle 'Android-Terminal-Emulator-master' project refresh failed
Error:exception during working with external system:

Gradle sync failed: exception during working with external system:

Things I've done to try and get the project to build:
Modify all of the project's build.gradle files to use the experimental plugin
Use different versions of Android Studio
Switch from openjdk to Oracle's jdk
Upgrade gradle to the latest version
Set gradle to default wrapper (default) and also set gradle to different versions
invalidate cache, remove ~/.gradle, and rebuild project
Make sure PATH includes the gradle and jdk bin directories and is in ~/.bashrc, ~/.profile, and ~/.zshrc
remove proguard from libtermexec library
reboot computer
I should note that the project builds without issue on the command line. I'd really like to get the project to build in Android Studio for development.
Install Arch and run Android Studio there.
I decided to try building Terminal Emulator on my Arch server, so I installed a xfce (Desktop Environment) and Android-Studio through pacman. I followed the same general path to get things setup, and the app built without issue.
The idea log Android Studio generated for the failed build on Windows and Ubuntu didn't point to any clear problem, even with --stacktrace enabled with gradle. I'm not going to waste my time figuring out why gradle doesn't want to build apps in Ubuntu or Windows.
I'm just trying out Android Studio. I imported a project from Eclipse, but every time I try
to run it I get this error:
"Cannot run program
"Library/JavaVirtualMachines?jdk1.7.0_10.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java"
(in directory
"/Users/myname/Library/Caches/AndroidStudioPreview/compile-server"):
error=2, No such file or directory.
I just installed the latest JDK using the JDK 7 Update 21 dmg. Is it installing the jdk in a place where Android Studio won't find it? The dmg didn't have any options for where to install the jdk other than "Install for all users of this computer," which I did.
When I was using Eclipse I had no problems with running my programs.
Furthermore, the Project Structure option was no longer available after I updated earlier today. Instead I just get the message, We will provide a UI to configure project settings later. Until then, please manually edit your build.gradle file(s.)"
I'm not sure what to do to get my programs running again. Do I need to locate the jdk files and move them? Could I tell Android Studio where the files are actually installed?
The solution was easier than I thought: just go to File/Other Settings/Default Project Structure and click SDKs. There the JDK home path can be changed.
Yes changing the JDK path will work. If that doesn't fix your problem, as it didn't for me at first, uninstall your JDK and redownload and install it. Once I reinstalled mine, it worked flawlessly.
