I got all excited with the leaked froyo update.zip that hit the net a few days ago, and installed it on my phone. Since then I've had many issues, the big one being ADB not discovering my phone. I'd like to revert my phone back, but can't find a signed update.zip on the nets that will do it.
Does anyone know how I can revert my N1 from FRF50, back to ERE27? My phone is not rooted.
Well, clearly no one in this space can help me. I sent a letter to Google, and this one the response.
Hello Brenton,
Thank you for your email. I understand you'd like to revert to the old
update.
Unfortunately, you cannot revert back to old update. We're unable to
provide release dates for Android 2.2, but please rest assured that we're
working hard to provide the update as soon as possible.
You'll get an automatic notification when the over-the-air (OTA) update is
available for your device. For more information on installing the OTA
update, please visit

We appreciate your patience.
Sincerely,
Shital

i have uploaded an updated version of my app in google play store, immediately after doing so i went to play store to check it, so it shows the older version. if any user who has not yet downloaded my app will he get the updated version of the app or the initial version of the app?
any ideas please suggest as i am a complete newbie to android.
i have tried finding posts related to it but no results so guys please help.
should i deactivate the older version of the app, what happens if i do so or i do not.
Whenever you upload a new app, google has to check it first. They don't want any virusses in it.
So after the checks have been completed, you app will be shown in the Play Store. Everybody who downloads your app before the checks have been completed, will download the older version. However, when the checks have been completed, everybody who has turned on the auto-update for apps, will download your new version automatically
Just upload, an wait a couple of hours!

I published an app yesterday and see it when I type https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=packagename into my browser. It's clearly on the play store, yet I cannot find it when I search the store from my phone or my computer. I was able to download it onto my phone using the URL above. Is there a setting I'm not selecting or something that would be causing this?
Google Play can be notoriously slow, both for the Developer Console and the Front End for users.
I've seen apps go live and not turn up on my Developer page or in search results for close to 48 hours. There is no way you did anything wrong, as Google Play doesn't provide any option for you to omit apps from your search results which you may have accidentally enabled.
I'd recommend waiting for a day or two more. If it still doesn't turn up, you could try contacting Google Play support, but I wouldn't get my hopes high about even receiving a response.

I've got an app that needs developing cross platform with sporadic updates depending on season and to go with PR, etc.
I know I can set an initial availibility date for iPhone distribution and I can do the same for updates. However I cant seem to find if I can do this with the PlayStore. I'll need to time the initial release then time updates depending on seasons and would like to do this in advance.
Anyone know if its similar? If you know if similar can be done on Windows Phone OS too that would be an extra bonus! hehe
You can't. You have to submit your APK a few hours before you want the App to be available in the Play Store. Play Store does not provide a "publish from date".

Is there somekind of log (like an OS event log or something) that could maybe give me an idea as to why an application crashes on start?
The specifics (irrlevant to the question itself):
I have recently purchased a copy of Final Fantasy Dimensions for my Android phone (Motorla XT615 with Android 2.3.7) and everytime I click on it I get a flicker (black-screen) and then it goes back to the home screen.
Does anyone have any suggestions or am I way off base with this one?
Thanks,
There are apps a user can download from Google Play that can grab log files to be sent to a developer. For example: Log Collector and CatLog.
Note: With Jelly Bean and later, root access is required for an app to access the logs of another app, so the log-grabbing apps listed above may not be useful for the average Android user.
If you have Android development tools available, see How to get Android crash logs?
You could read the log using apps such as CatLog or Log Collector, but it probably isn't going to help you find the FC issue, unless you actually had the code for it right in front of you, which you wouldn't have unless you were a dev of the game. But, anyways, good luck!
