Android: How to get rid of the header bar in App?

For some reasons when I launch the app in the splash activity and in the row activity, see images, there is a header bar with the name of the app "Baby Read".
I don't want the header there, how do I get rid of it?

Create a style for your splash Activity like this
<style name="AppTheme.NoActionBar">
<item name="windowActionBar">false</item>
</style>
after that set this style for your splash Activity in Manifest
<activity
android:name="activity name"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.NoActionBar"
/>
Update
make your style like this
<style name="splashStyle" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light.NoActionBar">
//add other attributes
</style>
if not work for you change the parent of your AppTheme to Theme.AppCompat.Light.ActionBar

You can use this in onCreate:
getSupportActionBar().hide();

No need to create anew theme (At least for this purpose)
Modify you app theme (Picture one)change parent="android:Theme.Holo.Light.DarkActionBar" for parent="android:Theme.Holo.NoActionBar"
On you manifest, in the application section (picture 2)add
android:theme="#style/AppTheme"
If by any change you are supporting APIs below 13 you can add
<item name="android:windowActionBar">false</item>
<item name="android:windowNoTitle">true</item>
to your app theme rather than changing the parent.
As a side note I would advise moving from Holo themes to Appcompat or even Material, but that´s out of the scope of this question

Same style for every row in Android's TableLayout

Is there any way in Android XML to set the same style (or style paramerers, like padding) for all rows in a TableLayout at once?
What I would like to avoid doing is:

<TableRow style="#style/MyStyle">...</TableRow>
<TableRow style="#style/MyStyle">...</TableRow>
<TableRow style="#style/MyStyle">...</TableRow>
...
</TableLayout>

You can define your own styles by creating XML files on the res/values directory. So, let's suppose you want to have red and bold text, then you create a file with this content:

<item name="android:textAppearance">#style/MyRedTextAppearance</item>
</style>

</style>
</resources>
You can name it like you want, for instance res/values/red.xml. Then, the only thing you have to do is using that view in the widgets that you want, for instance:

Creating style for checkbox

I'm putting some settings to the checkbox, and it works. But when I take them into a style and apply them, it doesn't. Per below, first button uses the style (NOT working), second one direct settings (works). What's wrong with my style file, per below? Tks

Android: Title not shown in Custom Title Bar with Custom ListAdapter View

I have created a custom title bar with the following.

In my list activity I have given the below code on onCreate method.
requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE);

But somehow while running the application I'm getting the title bar without any text in it at all. In my strings.xml for app_name i have My Notifications as text.

Then
In manifest file, use TitleBarTheme in application tag and for activity use like below:
android:theme="#android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar"
and in activity class use your code which is:
requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE);
getWindow().setFeatureInt(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE,
R.layout.myapptitle);

How to set the textsize, textcolor and other parameters for the imagebutton in android?

How to set the text size, text color and other parameters in one xml and than assign them to the imagebutton in android?
I can set the parameters manually for each button, but if there are more than 3 buttons it becomes a nightmare. What is the best practices for doing this?
