I am using Google map API v2 in my android app. The map is working probably on all devices _ that I tested the app on it _ but Samsung S Duos with android version 4.1.2 though it works on Galaxy S3 mini with android version 4.1.2
When I run the app on Samsung s duos nothing looks wrong in the log Cat.. no errors no warnings.. it runs exactly as it runs on other devices but doesn't show the map.. only showing the zoom buttons and Google word at the bottom of the screen..
I figured out the problem.. it was a strange problem really! the date of the device was incorrect and that lead to an error in network connection.. the WiFi was connected but there was no really connection.. I fixed the date and the map was loaded :)
I wrote this to help anyone having the same problem! :)
I am noticing strange blue markings when I visit certain webpages on Samsung galaxy note 10.1 is running android 4.1.2. This is only happening on one website and not the other. I have attached screenshots of both. I think it could be due to certain CSS or JS. Not sure what is is. Please help.

It looks like you may have an advertising blocker running. Could there be a banner add that should be showing where those blue images are?
I believe the picture says everything. I have my app running on several devices, but ONLY with this particular device of friend of mine (a Galaxy S4) the InfoWindow miss the marker.
My guess it is something related to the very high density of his device (XXHIGH).
I also installed the sample map application from the SKD on his device and the result is the same, which proves that there's nothing wrong with my code:
Any ideas?
Thanks
I suggest posting this on gmaps-api-issues with a screenshot from maps sample app.

I am developing an android app so I am still in "debug mode" in terms of signing my app. The MapView that I am using used to work so far but since today (maybe yesterday) the map shows greyed out areas. (Compare the following image.)
Does anybody know the reason for this?
[EDIT]
I have installed my app on two other devices (Samsung Galaxy Ace and Galaxy S2). On the Ace it shows the exact same behavior with the greyed out "chessboard" tiles. On the Galaxy S2 however it does not.
I have also thrown away the debug certificate and generated a new fingerprint and API key. But that did not help.
Trying to narrow down the problem I found that it seems to be related to the streetview feature. When I started to code the mapview into my app I set the streetview feature to true:
mapView.setStreetView(true);
When I turn it off (set to false) the greyed out areas disappear.
I have not further investigated this but for now my problem is solved (so I wrote this as an answer).
On the Motorola Bravo, at the left bottom of a MapView, there is an ugly orange square rather than the google logo. I notice this not only on my app, but on say, Yelp -- see screen shot:
Has anyone else seen this, and is there a workaround? I don't know if it happens on other motorola phones, but I'm guessing it does because there is another, similar problem with a missing image on google maps, which is easy enough to solve and documented elsewhere as being on Droid phones as well.
Here is what i found out, hope it helps at least a bit.
I have a Motorola Milestone (it is the EU version of the Droid as you probably know) with vodafone branded rom (so no ported custom rom) and do not have this 'bug' at all.
Here are some screens of Google Maps and Yelp...
so I do not have this problem at all but that does not mean other Milestone users do not have it. Maybe it is because of a missing image in one of the operators firmware files - when they customize their roms, they may delete some google-specific images and then forget to replace them with their own images (or put an ugly orange png at this place).
So I'm afraid I can't help any further, but at least i could show that this is not necessarily a motorola problem but maybe a provider problem?!
you could have written that you already posted this to motorola developers forum so i would have saved the time to look at this resource ;) click
edit: i found a post at modaco forum where a user describes the orange square as a bug in a custom rom --> the post. this is on acer liquid.
