Amazon Appstore DRM - How to implement? - android

I haven't been able to find out much from Amazon on how their DRM works or how to even implement it, nor can I find any documentation worth a damn on it at all.
Does Amazon alter the APK themselves or is this something the developer has to do?
Is there some decent doc (designed for developers) explaining it? Please post link if you have it.

You don't have to do anything but check the DRM checkbox when uploading your appliaction.

From the FAQ:
Can I apply DRM to my app?
For each app
that you submit to the Appstore, you
can choose to apply DRM or make your
app available without any rights
management constraints. If you do
choose to apply DRM to one of your
apps, you must use the DRM system
provided by Amazon through the Amazon
Appstore Developer Portal.
Have you already joined the developer program and tried to access the portal?
Here are more details. I'm still trying to figure out if any of this has even happened yet, or if it's just being hyped up.

Google Play Billing Library 1.0 (2017) - Is it easier to hack?

Up until now we were using the in app purchaces api using the IabHelper classes that Google was giving in the form of raw code so that we could "rewrite" it and make it difficult for a hacker to reverse engineer it, trace the code and remove it and then upload the app in the black market with everything for free.
Now Google has released the Billing Library with very easy to trace methods and callbacks. Right away I'm wondering what that means for the safety of our apps because I think it's not that good. Can someone explain what Google is thinking with this and how we can still ensure that the app will not be easy to hack?
ΝΟΤΕ
I'm aware that it's impossible to make an app hackproof. We can just make it more difficult to hack so that the average person can't do it. My question is about whether using the BillingApi from a library makes it easier to hack than the previous approach.
You can't be sure what your app isn't hacked. It's only a matter of time.
I suppose all time that my app is hacked and I don't allow do any purchases if root was found.
I suggest you see the Google SafetyNet helper docs.
Good link from Dima!
The library mostly does integration with Play billing. There should be an additional logic in your app to protect it against hackers.
I also recommend checking Security Best Practices from Google Play billing team.

Distribute Android apps within organization

I have to distribute Android apps within my organization. I have a google developer account. Below it tells to login to the admin console to enable private channel.
https://support.google.com/a/answer/2494992?hl=en
Problem -it does not sign me in as Google help states that
my.account#company.com, doesn't have an administrator but is instead managed by Google.
Requirement - So how can i get the administrator account.
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards
You can provide the .apk files directly to your organization.
Either you can allow to download a signed .apk file through a web site which will launch the install procedure or you can make an app market which provides a list of .apk files and installs them automatically, as Amazon's App Shop.
I'm not sure if Google account allows you to share app locally. But we use Hockeyapp to do the same. It works great. You can even integrate it to your app and upload the crashes too. Many other features. Take a look at this to know other solutions. It supports iOS as well as Android and offers a good user experience.
But you've to pay a bit for it. CashAnalytics is free. Do small research for yourself.
I have used crashlytics for this purpose in my last project.
It works great for beta distribution in development phase.
Also, it's crash reporting is excellent to guide you to the source code line causing crashes.

The terms of use prevents the use of robots or other web scrapers:
Blockquote
3. Your Use of Google Play

3.3 You agree not to access (or attempt to access) Google Play by any means other than through the interface that is provided by Google, unless you have been specifically allowed to do so in a separate agreement with Google. You specifically agree not to access (or attempt to access) Google Play through any automated means (including use of scripts, crawlers, or similar technologies) and shall ensure that you comply with the instructions set out in any robots.txt file present on the Google Play website.
You should take a look at this API for the Android Market

Or you could try to scrape the page (probably like this api does) but why do the work if it is already done...

Selling Ebooks in android using paypal option?

My app is basically supposed to sell ebooks and need to distribute via Android Market. For payment options, I would like to use PayPal. So, straight to the point, am I allowed to use paypal as payment option for digital goods(in my case Ebooks)? I had googled for it a while. But nothing worth referencing came up to me.
I also read through Android Market terms and didn't quite get it whether they allow such option for in-app billing. All I see from their docs is referring to Google Checkout. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well, just for information, I refer to http://www.google.com/mobile/android/market-tos.html .
Just to keep up, http://www.android.com/us/developer-content-policy.html#showlanguages this link may well more specific to my situation.
In general, you need to be careful - the TOS of the Android Market generally require you to use Google's payment processing options to charge users (see "Paid and Free Applications").
That said, they name two exceptions, one of which seems to apply in your case - "Where payment is for digital content or goods that may be consumed outside of the application itself (e.g. buying songs that can be played on other music players)". If your app sells ebooks in the form of standard files (like epub or pdf), you should be in the clear.
I believe you can sell digital content using paypal via your app - however I don't think you can use Google's In-App Purchasing system - that has to go through the Market Place, and is linked to a Google Checkout account.
So you'd need a separate delivery and authentication system.

How can I track Android install referrers with Amazon Appstore?

I am currently tracking referrers with Android Market and Google Analytics as described here:
http://code.google.com/mobile/analytics/docs/android/#android-market-tracking
Is there a similar solution that can be used for Amazon Appstore?
Does the Amazon Appstore prevent you from using Google Analytics? Well... not that I would be surprised, given how eager they are to pretend that Google Play does not exist.
In any case, Flurry is another popular analytics alternative for Android. I use it for Apps on the Amazon Appstore, so I know they don't have an issue with that. It also works well enough that I've never seen the point of moving over to the Google Analytics suite.
Edit: Your question is not 100% clear (since the link just points to Google Analytics), but is the problem that you want to be able to track referrers in the Amazon appstore app/website?
That is obviously a different cup of tea. But in that case, my advice is really simple: send a mail to the Amazon appstore crew, explain what you want, and ask them if they can provide this service. The Amazon appstore has some weaknesses, but the one big advantage that they have is that they have actual people willing to talk and listen to their developers.
You can use the URL structure defined at the following link:
https://developer.amazon.com/sdk/in-app-purchasing/sample-code/deeplink.html
Use the ref= tag as described at the bottom of the linked webpage
