Rotating ZoomControls - android

Ok, I've tried extending the ZoomControls class, I've followed the docs, I've read past examples of rotating views, but nothing works. Here's my class:
package imgViewer.Viewer;
import android.content.Context;
import android.graphics.Canvas;
import android.util.AttributeSet;
import android.widget.ZoomControls;
class TransformingZoomControls extends ZoomControls {
public TransformingZoomControls(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
// TODO Auto-generated constructor stub
}
#Override
protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) {
//canvas.save();
canvas.rotate(45,20,20);
super.onDraw(canvas);
//canvas.restore();
}
}
main.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:orientation="vertical">
<FrameLayout android:layout_width="match_parent" android:id="#+id/frameLayout1" android:layout_height="fill_parent">
<RelativeLayout android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="#+id/imgAccessBtnsContainer" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal|bottom">
<ImageButton android:src="#drawable/icon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="#+id/btnPrevImg" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" />
<ImageButton android:src="#drawable/icon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="#+id/btnNextImg" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_toRightOf="#id/btnPrevImg" />
</RelativeLayout>
<RelativeLayout android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="#+id/rotateBtnsContainer" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="left|bottom">
<ImageButton android:src="#drawable/icon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="#+id/btnRotateLeft" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" />
<ImageButton android:src="#drawable/icon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="#+id/btnRotateRight" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_below="#id/btnRotateLeft" />
</RelativeLayout>
<imgViewer.Viewer.TransformingZoomControls android:id="#+id/zoomControls" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" />
</FrameLayout>
<ImageView android:id="#+id/imagePanel" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent">
</ImageView>
</LinearLayout>
As shown in the code block I've even tried not using Save/Restore in the hopes of something actually showing some change but no dice. Is is simply impossible to override this class??

Android - Add subview after animation

I'm trying to add a subview below another view after an animation. anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong?
this.animate().translationY(newY - 170).setDuration(500).withEndAction(new Runnable() {
#Override
public void run() {
clearAnimation();
RouteBreakDownLayout routeBreakDownLayout = new RouteBreakDownLayout(mContext);
RelativeLayout.LayoutParams p = new RelativeLayout.LayoutParams(ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,
ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
p.addRule(RelativeLayout.BELOW, R.id.selected_route_layout);
routeBreakDownLayout.setLayoutParams(p);
addView(routeBreakDownLayout);
}
}).start();
Here is the XML for the layout. I have a scrollview embeded which will hold the content that needs to be animated in.
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"

android:showDividers="middle"
android:divider="?android:dividerHorizontal"
android:animateLayoutChanges="true"
android:paddingLeft="16dp"
android:paddingRight="16dp" />
</ScrollView>
</RelativeLayout>
What goes wrong for you in your code-snippet?
Here's working example I came up with:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="#+id/containerRelativeLayout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<View
android:id="#+id/headerView"
android:background="#00FF00"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="25dp"/>
<View
android:id="#+id/detailsView"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="40dp"
android:clickable="true"
android:background="#FF0000"/>
</RelativeLayout>
And MainActivity is
package klogi.com.animationstestapp;
import android.support.v7.app.AppCompatActivity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.view.ViewGroup;
import android.widget.Button;
import android.widget.RelativeLayout;
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
final View detailsView = findViewById(R.id.detailsView);
final View headerView = findViewById(R.id.headerView);
final RelativeLayout container = (RelativeLayout)findViewById(R.id.containerRelativeLayout);
container.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View view) {
detailsView.animate().translationY(-detailsView.getY()).setDuration(500).withEndAction(new Runnable() {
#Override
public void run() {
Button additionalButton = new Button(MainActivity.this);
additionalButton.setText("Additional button");
RelativeLayout.LayoutParams additionalButtonParams = new RelativeLayout.LayoutParams(ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,
ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
additionalButtonParams.addRule(RelativeLayout.ALIGN_PARENT_BOTTOM);
additionalButton.setLayoutParams(additionalButtonParams);
container.addView(additionalButton);
}
}).start();
headerView.animate().translationY(detailsView.getHeight()).setDuration(500).start();
}
});
}
}
It works just as expected.
Have you tried to add your control(RouteBreakDownLayout) without animation? Does it work? It can be something like control is actually adding, but it's out of the viewport, etc. - so far, I can just guessing.

Not-clipped childview of RelativeLayout is not clickable

I have the following activity. It is an simplification of a draggable map. The problem is that mytext2 is not clickable, even if it is visible. Can anybody tell me how to make it clickable? And for some reason the inner-RelativeLayout gets not bigger than screen size, even when i set this high dp.
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#0000ff"
android:clipChildren="false"
tools:context="${relativePackage}.${activityClass}" >
<RelativeLayout
android:layout_width="100000dp"
android:layout_height="100000dp"
android:background="#00ff00"
android:translationX="-100dp" >
<TextView

android:translationY="100dp" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/mytext2"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="#ff0000"
android:text="#string/hello_world"
android:translationX="200dp"
android:translationY="100dp" />
</RelativeLayout>
</RelativeLayout>
class
package com.example.relativatest;
import android.app.Activity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.Menu;
import android.view.MenuItem;
import android.view.View;
import android.view.View.OnClickListener;
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
#Override

super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
findViewById(R.id.mytext1).setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {

}
});
findViewById(R.id.mytext2).setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {
#Override

}
});
}
}
Use this code.
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"

I want to draw using canvas over an existing xml background how can I do it?

This is the class where i draw the picture onto this canvas, and on this class I’m trying to set the canvas's background to an existing xml layout that I designed.
The idea of what I want to do is like this made-up function: canvas.setBackground(R.layout.game); on the onDraw method.
The java class:
package com.example.snakesnladders;
import android.content.Context;
import android.graphics.Bitmap;
import android.graphics.BitmapFactory;
import android.graphics.Canvas;
import android.view.View;
public class MyBringBack extends View {
Bitmap playerW;
public MyBringBack(Context context) {
super(context);
playerW = BitmapFactory
.decodeResource(getResources(), R.drawable.white);
}
#Override
protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
super.onDraw(canvas);
canvas.drawBitmap(playerW, 0, 0, null);
}
}
The XML file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#drawable/easymap"
android:orientation="vertical" >
<TextView
android:id="#+id/whitePlayer"
android:layout_width="32dp"
android:layout_height="32dp"
android:background="#drawable/white"
android:visibility="gone" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/blackPlayer"
android:layout_width="32dp"
android:layout_height="32dp"
android:visibility="gone"
android:background="#drawable/black" />
<Button
android:id="#+id/btRoll"
android:layout_width="160dp"
android:layout_height="50dp"
android:layout_alignParentLeft="true"
android:layout_alignTop="#+id/cubePic"
android:background="#drawable/buttonshape"
android:text="Roll"
android:textColor="#FFFFFF" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/cubePic"
android:layout_width="100dp"
android:layout_height="100dp"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
android:layout_alignParentRight="true"
android:layout_marginBottom="42dp"
android:layout_marginRight="22dp"
android:background="#drawable/cube" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/tvTurn"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignBottom="#+id/cubePic"
android:layout_alignRight="#+id/btRoll"
android:text="Your turn!"
android:textColor="#color/green"
android:textSize="32dp"
android:textStyle="italic" />
</RelativeLayout>
quick and dirty: Insert the the MyBringBack view in your xml and set height and width to match_parent as last element with a transparent Background
Upüdate your MyBringBack with these constructors:
public MyBringBack (Context context, AttributeSet attrs, int defStyle) {
super(context, attrs, defStyle);
initView();
}
public MyBringBack (Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
initView();
}
public MyBringBack (Context context) {
super(context);
initView();
}
private void initView() {
//DO WHAT YOU WANT ON INIT
playerW = BitmapFactory
.decodeResource(getResources(), R.drawable.white);
}
And XML Like this
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#drawable/easymap"
android:orientation="vertical" >
<TextView
android:id="#+id/whitePlayer"
android:layout_width="32dp"
android:layout_height="32dp"
android:background="#drawable/white"
android:visibility="gone" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/blackPlayer"
android:layout_width="32dp"
android:layout_height="32dp"
android:visibility="gone"
android:background="#drawable/black" />
<Button
android:id="#+id/btRoll"
android:layout_width="160dp"
android:layout_height="50dp"
android:layout_alignParentLeft="true"
android:layout_alignTop="#+id/cubePic"
android:background="#drawable/buttonshape"
android:text="Roll"
android:textColor="#FFFFFF" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/cubePic"
android:layout_width="100dp"
android:layout_height="100dp"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
android:layout_alignParentRight="true"
android:layout_marginBottom="42dp"
android:layout_marginRight="22dp"
android:background="#drawable/cube" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/tvTurn"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignBottom="#+id/cubePic"
android:layout_alignRight="#+id/btRoll"
android:text="Your turn!"
android:textColor="#color/green"
android:textSize="32dp"
android:textStyle="italic" />
<your.package.MyBringBack
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:id="#+id/my_bring_back"
android:background="#android:color/transparent" />
</RelativeLayout>

How to resize an ImageView in Android?

I am trying to do something similar to the image below in Android. The problem is, whenever the screen size changes (when the user rotates the device), the checkboxes and the button disappear from the screen. This is my layout
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent" >
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/preview"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:contentDescription="#string/content_description"
android:layout_height= "1.5in" />
<CheckBox
android:id="#+id/location"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_below="#+id/preview"
android:text="#string/location_text" />
<CheckBox
android:id="#+id/timestamp"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_below="#+id/location"
android:text="#string/timestamp_text" />
<Button
android:id="#+id/buttonUpload"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentRight="true"
android:layout_below="#+id/timestamp"
android:layout_marginRight="19dp"
android:gravity="center_vertical"
android:onClick="uploadClicked"
android:text="#string/upload_button_text" />
</RelativeLayout>
I need to display the image and all controls and support all screen sizes. How do I make the size of the ImageView dynamic?
I never got the scaleType thing to work for me.
I subclassed ImageView:
package your.pkg;
import android.content.Context;
import android.util.AttributeSet;
import android.widget.ImageView;
public class AspectRatioImageView extends ImageView {
public AspectRatioImageView(Context context) {
super(context);
}
public AspectRatioImageView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
}
public AspectRatioImageView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs, int defStyle) {
super(context, attrs, defStyle);
}
#Override
protected void onMeasure(int widthMeasureSpec, int heightMeasureSpec) {
int width = MeasureSpec.getSize(widthMeasureSpec);
if (getDrawable() != null && getDrawable().getIntrinsicWidth() != 0) {
int height = width * getDrawable().getIntrinsicHeight() / getDrawable().getIntrinsicWidth();
setMeasuredDimension(width, height);
} else {
setMeasuredDimension(0, 0);
}
}
}
And used that instead of the regular ImageView:
<your.pkg.AspectRatioImageView
android:id="#+id/photo"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"
android:layout_alignParentTop="true"
android:adjustViewBounds="true"
/>
This scales to the full width of the parent View and maintains the aspect ratio while doing so.
If you used a LinearLayout instead of a RelativeLayout, you could make the ImageView expand to take all the empty space in the screen. The scaleType attribute will let you specify how to stretch the image.
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent" >
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/preview"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:contentDescription="#string/content_description"
android:layout_height="0dp"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:scaleType="fitCenter" />
<CheckBox
android:id="#+id/location"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="#string/location_text" />
<CheckBox
android:id="#+id/timestamp"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="#string/timestamp_text" />
<Button
android:id="#+id/buttonUpload"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_marginRight="19dp"
android:layout_gravity="right"
android:onClick="uploadClicked"
android:text="#string/upload_button_text" />
</LinearLayout>
Based on all the feedback. This is what I used:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<ScrollView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="#+id/scroller"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:fillViewport="true" >
<RelativeLayout
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent" >
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/preview"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:contentDescription="#string/content_description"
android:layout_height= "1.5in" />
<CheckBox
android:id="#+id/location"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_below="#+id/preview"
android:text="#string/location_text" />
<CheckBox
android:id="#+id/timestamp"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_below="#+id/location"
android:text="#string/timestamp_text" />
<Button
android:id="#+id/buttonUpload"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentRight="true"
android:layout_below="#+id/timestamp"
android:layout_marginRight="19dp"
android:gravity="center_vertical"
android:onClick="uploadClicked"
android:text="#string/upload_button_text" />
</RelativeLayout>
</ScrollView>

Android Horizontal orientation while rotation some parts missing

I am currently working on a application .when i installed my_app in android mobile while rotating in horizontal view my buttons are missing,please help!! Thanks in advance
My java coding is:

if(test.equals("1"))
{
iv1.setImageResource(R.drawable.untitled);
iv1.setAlpha(100);
}
else
{
//iv1.setImageResource(null);
}
//Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), test.toString(), 2000).show();
Button btn_undo=(Button) findViewById(R.id.button1);
