Well am building this app, now am at the point where I wanna use the java email API to send email, but am getting a few error such as "The import javax.mail cannot be resolved" I really tried everything here but cant seem to fix it .
if anyone could help I would really appreciate it.. am using eclipse by the way..
Thanks
Android does not include the javax libraries.
To send email on android app you would have to create an intent and let the email app handle it. Here is an example I found via a quick google search http://www.helloandroid.com/tutorials/how-send-email-your-application.

today I'm working with network in Android.I want to get mail from Gmail/Yahoo account and show them in textbox. Can anyone teach me how to fetch mail content ? I need a point to do it.
You can use javamail – android jar files to get and send email from android. From following you can also find a example to send email using android. This work is based on the opensourced version of JavaMail and activation (JAF) available in the glassfish repository, and some parts of Apache. You can find these files to download from this link https://code.google.com/p/javamail-android/downloads/list.
For Receiving email you can use following link. this link will be helpful for you http://www.javatpoint.com/example-of-receiving-email-using-java-mail-api
Getting error "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax.activation.DataHandler" while Sending automatic email on background..I have added activation.jar ,additional.jar.mail.jar already ,but getting same error again,,plz tell me proper solution..
Thanks in advance..
The Android SDK makes it very easy to send emails from an application, but unfortunately, that's only if you want to send them via the built-in mailing app. For most situations this works fine, but if you want to send something out and don't want any input/intervention from the user, it's not as easy.
so please follow this link

Try going to Project -> Properties -> Java Build Path -> Order & Export and ensure Android Private Libraries are checked for your project and for all other library projects you are using.
I use parse sdk and scringo in my app , parse works fine for my login with facebook so app_id is set correctly , but when login via scringo it just shows please wait
any help !!
Logcat
Scringo(11060): You need to set the facebook app id in the manifest. See https://developers.facebook.com/docs/tutorials/androidsdk/3.0/upgrading-from-2.0-to-3.0/#login
how to go ahead with facebook sdk and scringo , the site is not informative and even the api docs dont explain much , no reply over email so i have to turn to SO for help
EDIT:
I use broadcast receiver now as per their guides , how to login correctly
http://www.scringo.com/docs/android-guides/popular/handling-login-status-changes/
What you're describing is a problem common to all Facebook libraries, you need to create an application on Facebook and get an id/key (http://www.scringo.com/docs/android-guides/popular/connect-to-social-networks/), most libraries then require that you set it in the manifest. I haven't used this library, if you want to try using https://github.com/sromku/android-simple-facebook I can provide more help (if you need it, Simple Facebooks guide is pretty good), otherwise this hopefully makes it clear what you're missing
According to their quick start guide, Scringo it turns out also has it's own App Ids which you get through a dashboard, take a look here: http://www.scringo.com/docs/android-guides/quickstart/
I had the exact same issue.
I fixed it by adding my scringo app id in the scringo.properties file under the assets folder of my project:
scringo.app.id="your_scringo_app_id"
Hope it helps.
I'm trying to configure Solcalendar to sync with owncloud 6.0.0.
I used "Custom" option and type there
http://hostname/owncloud/remote.php/caldav/calendars/[myUsername]/[myCalendarNAme]
And of course my login anc password.
I get the message "Check ID and password and try again". Any ideas what can be wrong here?
Syncing with Lightning (Thunderbird) works well using that link.
I had the same prob. Solved it (on Android) by installing an additional CalDavsync App called https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.gege.caldavsyncadapter&hl=de
Probably that is helpful for you.
Hello all and first thing to apologize for my poor English.
I wanted to comment my problem on the attempt of the integration retweet on my android application.
So far I managed to authenticate with OAUTH and even I have been able to send a tweet.
My problem starts when I want to be able to send retweet from a ID that I have saved in a class.
I have tried almost everything, Ive been dozens of hours looking for information on this, but without knowing if I on the right track.
trying to create a getRetweetsById function
trying to make http GET to the address:
https://API.Twitter.com/statuses/retweets/21943348.json
... getting the same response in all cases
It doesnt work.
If someone could guide me which is the appropriate method and the steps i should follow I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks and best regards
