In Nougat Capture Image from Camera and get file from Uri

In Android Nougat and above versions the method to capture image from camera intent is changed and following code is working fine for me.

In onActivityResult method I'm able to show the captured image in ImageViews as well.
Glide.with(parent).load(AppGlobal.URI_CAPTURED_IMAGE).centerCrop().into(profilePic_iv);
But when i use the same uri to get File then it says no file exists at given path. What could be the issue? How can i parse the Uri to get File. It seems to be version related stuff.
Sample uri is as follows:
content://com.example.demo.provider/external_files/Camera/IMG_20171213_015646.jpg

You don't. Moreover, you do not need to. Your file is whatever AppGlobal.getOutputMediaFile() returns. You need to hold onto that value (including putting it in the saved instance state Bundle, in case your process is terminated while the camera app is in the foreground). See this sample app for how to use ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE with FileProvider.

Open a file using intent

I would like to open a Text file launcher from my application.
I have a byte[]/base64 data, that needs to be launch in an app based on their extension. I tried launching a text file using below code, but im unable to do so. Could any one please help me on this? Here is my code:
Uri myUri = Uri.parse(mActionResponse.getAttachmentData()); //mActionResponse.getAttachmentData() will return byte []
Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_EDIT);
intent.setDataAndType(myUri, "text/plain");
context.startActivity(intent);
FYI i dont want to save the file in device storage.

Android Sharing Intent cannot start

I am writing an Android application to upload a mp4 format video from sdcard to youtube using sharing Intent. It ran perfectly at the first time when I installed to my phone. However, after I restart the app, I cannot share it again. If i share to whatsapp, "sharing fail" apear. If I click youtube, I got "no media uri(s)" message on logcat. Reinstalling on same phone or restarting the phone cannot solve the problem.
Even when I install the app in same code to other android device, it only runs perfectly once. When i restart the app, same problem happened.

Problem solved after adding sharingIntent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_WHEN_TASK_RESET);

Try the following to invoke the "share" applications:
//Use the URI that points to the video file, in my case, the video file is in local storage (sd card)

How to open the My Files folder in Android Programatically (using Intent)?

I am using the below code which opens up the Gallery, Music Player, Dropbox and Contacts, i want the My Files folder to get open programatically, please let me know if there are any specific intent parameters i need to pass to get the File Manager open.
if it is not possible through intent then please give me a snippet or an hint to open the My Files folder programatically.

You can use this code to file the files.

this will help you to browse the files from your storage.

Its best that you include a library in your project which handles this scenario.
This worked for me:
This library shows the list of third-party apps. It also has its own file browser for selecting files.

Bad thing is, most Android distributions may or may not ship with a file manager, and even so, may be not with the one which handles CHOOSE_FILE_REQUESTCODE.
So, you are left to create your own file picker activity. Luckily there are many ready made ones available:

If you want to open samsung My Files application try this below code.

Take shoot using camera in ICS

in my app, using Gingerbread, this piece of code works:
Intent intent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);
startActivityForResult(intent, CAMERA);
But in ICS (I tried on different ROMs), using
Uri selectedImageUri = data.getData();
returns null.
How can I make the first code work?

PS: I found this solution:
File dir = Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory(Environment.DIRECTORY_DCIM);
intent.putExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, Uri.fromFile(new File(dir, "avatar.jpeg")));
But if a device haven't a storage expansion? Plus I dont need to save the image.
