Now I need to cancel the pending alarms from another class. Can I just use this code?

As long as the PendingIntent are equivalent as the one you used to register the alarm, it doesn't matter where you call cancel() from. Two PendingIntents are equivalent (equals() returns true) if the underlying intents and request codes are the equivalent.

You can cancel the alarm like this:

Also, you should remove Intent.FILL_IN_DATA from your call to getBroadcast() in the code where you set the alarm.
Cancel your PendingIntent too.
pIntent.cancel();
Make sure context used in creating intent is same.
If not possible to use same Context, then create intent as a global Static variable and use later.

I am using PendingIntents for multiple Alarms. How can i properly use TAGS, so i can later cancel only the Alarm that i don't want to use anymore?
Right now i'm seting Alarms with the code above. But if i set more than 1, using the code appears bellow i stop all upcoming Alarms. Instead of that i want to be able to identify somehow this PendingIntents and cancel only the ones that are not required.

To support multiple alarms send a different request code each time you call it in the getBroadcast method. To cancel just send the same request code.

Say this piece of code is executed more than once. This results in that many alarms being created (I find this info from dumpsys where it says X# wakes - X# alarms).
I've been told that setting the same request code and same intent cannot start the alarm the second time.
My widget should refresh its textviews every day at 0:00. In the widget_provider.xml I set android:updatePeriodMillis="1000" but I read that the minimum update period is 30 minutes and I have to use alarmManager for this. So i want an alarm that triggers the refresh every day at 0:00. UpdateService.class handles the refreshing (setting texts for textviews based on date. The class is just not called until around half an hour after midnight)

Is this the right place for this code? Why doesn't it work? I am using toast messages in UpdateService.java, but i never get the toast in the onStart(Intent intent, int startId) method apart from the first time, when the app in installed.

First, your repeating time should be 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000, as it is in milliseconds.
Second your start time could be found using the time left until the next 0:00:
final long MILLIS_IN_DAY = 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000;
long timeUntilMidnight = MILLIS_IN_DAY - (System.currentTimeMillis() % MILLIS_IN_DAY);
Then set your alarm by adding the time left to the current time:
alarmManager.setRepeating(...System.currentTimeMillis() + timeUntilMidnight, MILLIS_IN_DAY...);
Make sure you don't set multiple of the same alarm. I like to call
alarmManager.cancel(pendingIntent);
before setting it again just to be sure.
I'm writing something like a reminder for users. Users will set reminders for their events, when the time comes, a repeating alarm will be set to trigger a status bar notification. But the alarm seems non-stop after I selected the notification or cleared the notification. I am not sure where to cancel this repeating alarm. Below are some of the codes:

I tried various methods and couldnt get it to work, so I decided to do a dirty trick. When I want to cancel my repeating alarm, I use the same method that created my alarm (and hence replacing the old one) and then cancel it right away. With this method if the boolean variable is set to true it creates an alarm ow it replaces and then cancels the replacement which has the same id:
