Google Maps Android API V2 showing current location with marker(where am i in google android maps api v2)

I am beginner in android , i am developing an android app for displaying my current location on google maps.But as i run my application it display a message "Unfortunately stopped" on emulator as well as physical device.
i am attaching my code .plz have a look.
pls help me ....i am not able to resolve this

why Can't I see the map

I want to run demo Google map but it is not showing map. Here is my code.I have checked API key it is correct

This is old way for getting map. Google has updated it now.
use

provide your API key in manifest file as

Version 1 googlemaps officially depricated.so just use version 2 and add google-play-services libs.surely it will help to get googlemap.

Error is:
The application loc has stopped unexpected.

Android MapView Displays Black Screen

i am using google maps in my app. i am unable to get the map tiles. i just see a black screen. i have been struggling for 3 days now. i generate the map api key on my computer and i have added all the permissions in my menifest.xml file. but still unable to get map tiles.

It might not be related but i did this once when i was faced with a similar kind of issue. Under your application tag in manifest put
android:hardwareAccelerated="false"
Might not work but worth a try.

Do I need to have a google map app pre-installed on the device to be able to run an app using the google API?

I am creating an app that uses the google API. I would like to know if i install that app on a mobile phone, will it require a gooogle map app pre-installed in the device to be able to use the map or it uses the internet to get the map from google or any other methods?
