I follow this link https://github.com/harism/android_page_curl now I want to modify size of the curlview,I already try to change android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" in main.xml file but it is not working.
So, Please tell me How to change curlView height,width and background.
Thanks
For width and height change, you could put that custom view in a Linear Layout and change Linear Layout properties like below.
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:layout_marginRight="50dp"
android:layout_marginLeft="20dp"
android:layout_marginTop="20dp"
android:layout_marginBottom="20dp"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:orientation="vertical" >
<com.mobinius.hungama.curl.CurlView
android:id="#+id/curl"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent" />
</LinearLayout>
For background color
mCurlView.setBackgroundColor(0xFF202830);

I have the Layouts as you can see in the picture (sorry I cannot post them normally yet):
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28640502/Unbenannt.bmp
However, when I execute the app I can only see the camera preview and not the text nor the SeekBar. I know they work, because when I reduce the size of the camera I can see them and interact, but if I want the camera to be like background and then the children over it, it doesn't work.
I have been checking a lot of threads with similar problems but I don't find the solution:
1, 2, 3... Any idea? Thanks a lot!
Here is my xml code just in case:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_weight="0.55"
android:orientation="vertical" >
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/camera_preview"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_gravity="fill">
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="horizontal" >
<TextView
android:id="#+id/show_height"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_margin="5sp"
android:layout_marginRight="10sp"
android:layout_weight="0.12"
android:text="H" />
<SeekBar
android:id="#+id/select_height"
android:layout_width="0dp"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="bottom"
android:layout_margin="5sp"
android:layout_weight="0.91" />
<TextView
android:id="#+id/show_distance"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_weight="0.06"
android:text="Dist" />
</LinearLayout>
</FrameLayout>
</LinearLayout>
try to input both of your layouts in relative layout for example
<LL>
<RL>
<FL>
</FL>
<LL>
</LL>
</RL>
</LL>
this is hapenning because of overlaiyng of LL by FL
You could use the bringToFront() method of the View class.
SeekBar seeker = (SeekBar)findViewById(R.id.select_height);
seeker.bringToFront();
Alernatively you could use the sendToBack() function to put a view behind other views.
Also remember that a view's z-index is determined by the order in which the view is declared in the xml layout file.
I'd also suggest changing the camera preview layout and it's first child layout to be siblings. The one added last in the xml file will be on top.
I am displaying a textview(I intend this to fill the entire screen excluding the button below it) and a button(small one at the bottom) in an activity. I want textview to be placed aove the button. I don't want to hardcode any height/width.
Hence
For button I have kept height ad width as word_wrap
For textview I have kept width as fill parent.
What I want to know is that, is there anyway by whcih I can specify textview height to be screenheight-button height. I want to this in xml file but not dnamically inside my code.
To achieve this you have to create something like this :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" >
<TextView
android:id="#+id/textView1"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_above="#+id/button1"
android:text="TextView" />
<Button
android:id="#+id/button1"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"
android:text="Button" />
</RelativeLayout>
and you have a textview which will stay above your button and will fit the entire screen.
Use RelativeLayout, set textview's dimensions as fill_parent, then place button below it,
set button's android:layout_below="#+id/textview" and button's dimensions as wrap_content.
Check the result in visual designer or in device, it should work
You can use layout_weight attribute
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent">
<TextView
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="0dip"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:text="TextView" />
<Button
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="Button" />
</LinearLayout>

. ;.---- help me get the clear view of gallery in header without hidding at bottom or simply how can i increase height of header layout.
As WarrenFaith said, we can't help you without the XML code. The basic answer with the informations you gave is layout_height but you can have set fill_parent and layout_weight to other fields and it would not be the same. Please provide some code
#MGSenthil: everybody was once new here. Simply work with and not against us :)
Back to topic: What do you mean with because the height of header can't being changed in any sense? Please clarify if you cant change the height because it didnt work or if you cant change it because it has to be this size?!
If you want to have this header with a specific size, you should consider to remove something of the content so it fits.
I never used a custom title, but you should check if its not better to request NO_TITLE and simply add your header to the main.xml layout? You should be able to increase the height of your header that way.
I know i am doing a small mistake.
I am using LinearLayout and i want to place the "icon-image" at "Center".
I am using the following code:
<LinearLayout
android:id="#+id/LinearLayout01"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
<LinearLayout
android:id="#+id/LinearLayout02"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="horizontal"
android:layout_weight="0">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/ImageView01"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:src="#drawable/icon"
android:layout_gravity="center_vertical|center_horizontal|center">
</ImageView>
</LinearLayout>
<LinearLayout>
............
</LinearLayout>
</LinearLayout>
As you see above, i have also set layout_gravity.
Now my problem is, if i set android:layout_width="wrap_context" instead of "fill_parent" in Child Linear Layout (i.e. LinearLayout02) then it works fine. but then whats should i do to set icon-image at Center while setting fill_parent?
Pls anybody focus their knowledge and let me help to find out the mistake.
Pls help me.
Thanx,
Paresh
Add this to LinearLayout02 to specify that its contents should be centered horizontally:
android:gravity="center_horizontal"
I am using two ListView in a screen. I want to divide the height of each ListView but I want it to be screen independent. For this I need to know the Height of the screen. I am using xml to do this.
Can any one please help me to achieve this?
Thank You
Deepak
Try this:
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:orientation="vertical"
>
<ListView
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:layout_weight="1"
/>
<ListView
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:layout_weight="1"
/>
</LinearLayout>
The important parts are having the ListViews android:layout_height="fill_parent" and android:layout_weight="1" and the LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical"
Documentation for more information about the layout_weight attribute.
Try setting the layout height of the views to "fill parent" and layout weight to 1.
