Ive got a TextView and some String Arrays. I want to add a Line (trough Java) everytime the next Item is displayed(Ive got a for loop, so it loops until every Item is displayed in the TextView). Does anybody know how to do that?

I want It to look like a ListView. But I dont want to use a listView insted because I want to set the Line just for certain events.

What kind of line? If you just want a vertical line in your text, add "|" between each word. If you want a new line, use "\n".
Have you tried adding a newline (\n) character each time you add one of your strings?

I found my own way to fix this. I set the textView.SetMaxLines to 1 and it solved the problem for me.
You can use setSingleLine method:
TextView textView = (TextView) findViewById(...);
textView.setSingleLine(true);
and setEllipsize to remove ellipsize:
textView.setEllipsize(null);
This is the main idea of what I am trying to do.
I would like to ask you what is the best way to make such a design. the problem is that these gray/black blocks might not show up (user will choose which should show up). So I would like to find out do I need to make these 3 text views inside linearLayout programatically? Is there anyway to create some sort of template which I would only have to edit by setting new texts for textViews and add them to some sort of layout?
Another option is to just have a LinearLayout and an xml for the row entry. Then you can do:

You will need a separate xml layout for the block row.
You can use a ListView with large dividers. Your dark gray blocks are the row views, and you can just append them to a dataset and update the adapter for the ListView. For the dividers, see setDivider() and setDividerHeight().
I'm building a very simple online chat room App. What I have achieved is something like below right now:

The new feature/problem I'm facing is that I want current user's talks to show on the right.
Like below(this is what David see on his screen):

Each line above is a TextView, and I'm dynamically creating TextView whenever there's new message, then adding them to the LinearLayout that contains these TextView. In order to make David(current user)'s talk on the right, I tried to set align right and I change the LinearLayout to RelativeLayout. But then I realize once I use RelativeLayout, all talks are in the same line overlapping each other since I didn't set their height.. Can anyone shed some light on how to achieve this please? My codes below:

You definitely need to use a ListView, as Chor WaiChun mentioned. However, the way you would do this with a relative layout would be to set the RelativeLayout.layoutParams for the view with a rule that sets it to layout_below the previous view. Just like you would in XML.
Also, even if you insist on adding 1 view per line (which as previously stated is wrong, use a ListView), there's no reason not to use the LinearLayout. You can have a LinearLayout with right justified text, just set the gravity to right.
I have a TableLayout in which I have one row holding two TextViews, the first one holds a String representation of a Date, the second one holds a title. My problem is the first one should always be 100dp wide, the seconde one should use the spaces that's left. The first TextView works fine and it will go to a new line if the string cannot be displayed in one line. But the problem is the second TextView, it is always too wide (its width expands out of the screen), no matter how I change its size, and I can only see part of the text that's inside it. Anyone knows how to fix this?

actually i have keep one scrollview. Inside that scroll view I set one textview at run time I want to set text in that textview. The string which I'm going to set is some what big in length so i could not get the string in a single line and i can get my string two or three lines. My scroll view layout width size is 250px. I dont want to exceed that size...My expectation is i want to see that string within that scrollview as single line if the string is exceeds the scroll size then it should horizontally scroll in text view. I tried some functions like setting horizontal scroll to scrollview and textview but nothing is work out.
Pls help me how to solve this problem.

you have to use these two Xml attributes in your TextView widget:
android:scrollHorizontally="true"
android:singleLine="true"
So your xml layout must contain something like this:

where did you add the textview..Inside scrollview we able to add only one view...
Take TextView and HorizontalScrollView. Just put textview inside the HorizontalScrollView. And yes make sure to mentioned android:singleLine="true" inside the TextView.
I had the same issue with a TextView inside a table and nothing detailed here solved the fact that it wouldn't scroll horizontally (automatically, which might not be the desired effect from OP, but it's quite unclear).
While comparing some code that did work, I found out the TextView must be selected for scrolling to start:
TextView text_view = new TextView(context);
text_view.setLines(1);
text_view.setHorizontallyScrolling(true);
text_view.setMarqueeRepeatLimit(-1); // At this point the view is not scrolling!
...
text_view.setSelected(true); // Get scrolling to start
Seems crazy, but it works.
for me, this one line in the EditText xml was enough:
android:singleLine="true"
You didn't specify if this was in XML or java code, but here's the java code to get that working:
// Allow textView to scroll
textView.setSingleLine(true);
textView.setHorizontallyScrolling(true);
textView.setEllipsize(TextUtils.TruncateAt.MARQUEE);
textView.setMarqueeRepeatLimit(-1);
textView.setSelected(true);
textView.setPadding(10, 0, 10, 0);
The only unnecessary item here is the padding, which I find to look best so the text does not touch the border of our 250px TextView.
