How I can do this? Behavior(scrolling and other) of this table-component must be as a ListView. Now I have a two-level ListView where "List 1 label" and "List 2 label" are parent nodes. I want place them to left side. Maybe I must use TableLayout where in right column place a ListView?
you can use listview as a main item. on the other side in the getview() method of adapter you can create a dynamic layout depending on the number of items to add to the right side. by going dynamic at runtime depending on the requirement you will be able to generate the ui and place it as a single item. or the other approach you are using is also correct i think, but in that case number of table rows to inflate would get fixed if you are not going for dynamic ui.

I'm making an app where there's one main activity that is a Fragment. I basically have a few tabs and each tab/page layout I want a different layout. For one of them, I want to know if I can dynamically create a table of, say 20-ish rows with X amount of columns. Instead of having to manually create each row inside the layout .axml file.
The reason for wanting to dynamically create it is that I'm obtaining some data from online that I want to automatically put inside a table.
You will only need to create 1 layout for the item and it will be your item 'template' to inflate it into your ListView dynamically. Take a look at this RecyclerView example (which is the improved ListView)
I would like to display 2 listview items in the same line, like favourite contacts in the default phone app. I do not need a full working solution, but only a guideline what to do.

There is a list of favourite contacts and there are 2 contacts (illustrated only by pictures) in 1 line.

You can write your own adapter to handle this, or you can use a GridView.
To use the custom Adapter strategy:
Create a row layout that has space for two elements.
In xml, for whatever you now consider one 'row', make a horizontal LinearLayout that can hold two of them next to each other. That's your new definition of a row.
In your Adapter, fill each row with two elements from your data set instead of the usual 1.
Take care to handle the case where the data set only has one element left.

I tried to create a class and extends the LinearLayout class and dynamically adds my Views (the compound controls class is my view also extends LinearLayout) to the main LinearLayout. So I got a list of my views which is scroll-able.
I'm not sure what you mean, but looking at what you have tried, what's wrong with using a ListView? As the name implies, it should do exactly what you want:

did you mean how to set the whole page(activity) into a listview?
listviews are scrollable in default (of course, you can see it if the list is long enough and you can set the whole activity as a list).. you can customize it also by using templates (xml)
and extending ArrayAdapter of your type (let's say ArrayAdapter<UpcomingEvents>) and supply data from db...

I'm using a ListView to show a list of items. These items are in a table format with columns and rows. Is there a table like adapter to make sure all the columns and rows line up? I know this brings in the complexity of how large each column should be, what to do with cut off text, and other things. I'm just curious if there is currently and adapter hiding somewhere for this task. Or maybe even another control?
The point of using ListView is to be able to scale to larger data sets by not having to create and layout views for all of the items up-front. Because of this, your request fundamentally conflicts with how ListView works -- ListView simply doesn't know how all of its items will layout, so there is no way for it to automatically make sure they align in some way.
You can ensure they align yourself just by writing the item layout appropriately. For example, very often in the UI you will have an icon followed by a label. If you ensure the icon is a specific size, then all of the list items will align. If you are dealing with elements that are more dynamic like text, you could do the same thing by enforcing up-front a specific width for those elements.
If you really want to have the UI compute the element sizes dynamically and align all of the rows based on them, that is what TableLayout does. It can do this because it always has all elements there to layout together. If you want to allow scrolling in it, you can wrap that in a ScrollView like another poster suggested. Just be aware that this approach will quickly fall apart as your number of rows increases significantly.
I was able to make TableLayout to behave like ListView (at least visually). Here is my answer.
There is GridView for that, but afaik it doesn't work with columns and rows. Luckily you seem to have been expecting some complexity :)
You can use a ListView or a ListFragment and populate items using each time a single TableRow inside a TableLayout (maybe using android:stretchColumns="0")
you'll have a TableLayout per line, so it's probably inefficient but it does what you are trying to do
I have created a custom adapter to display a list, there is an image that is displayed in each row ( the image is the same for all rows, except using an array i am assigning it different values depending on the position). An xml file defines the relative layout that i am using. My problem is that i can either get the entire row to be clickable or nothing at all, I only want this image to be clickable, instead of the entire row. How would i be able to do this ? i am new to android and am pretty much following different tutorials trying to create my list. Any help would be appreciated.

thats wat a row looks like...getting two texts from two different arrays and shows it, a third array is used to link to the image. I just want this image to be clickable instead of the entire row.

Android's list component manages clicks per row. This makes it very difficult to achieve what you want to do. Two solutions come into mind:
1) If your list is never very long you could simply use linear layout and scroll view to build the list. This approach won't work if you fill in the list dynamically and you can't be sure that there won't be a very large number of rows as it would use too much memory in that case.
2) Other option is to use ListView but make your text components and images different view types in list ie. break you row into three.
That can be achieved overriding list adapter's getItemViewType(int)

In this approach you can make the image rows clickable but the text rows not.
