Show "All Instances" missing in eclipse debug view - android

few days ago, when I was debugging an Android project under eclipse I've found some great functionality: "All instances..." and "Instance count". I wanted to share my findings with rest of my colleagues, but none of them had this functionality in their eclipse install (we all use eclipse 3.7).
What's even more weird now I'm also missing this functionality.
As far as I can tell this functionality is build within eclipse from version 3.3 and available to projects using Java 1.6 and above as mentioned here and here (we're using 1.6).
See bottom of this link to see what functionality I'm talking about. It even has it's own shortcut in options (ctrl+shift+n) so I think there must be a way to use it again.
I was looking for it while debugging and while the debugger was in "stopped" state.
Anyone can help me put eclipse in right view/perspective/state to see this functionality again?

After some more digging I came to following conclusion:
DalvikVM does not support "instance retrieval".
On eclipse help page mentioned in EDIT section it written:
This command is only available if the Java virtual machine you are currently using supports instance retrieval.
Maybe there is an option to enable this option in DalvikVM, but I doubt it unfortunately.
Also when debugging on phone "Drop to frame" functionality is missing.

Having some trouble with android studio probably has a simple answer

I'm trying to install android studio, but while I was installing it I got this exception:
My question is what is the Android Emulator Hypervisor? what does it do or enable me to do? I tried looking it up online but I kept getting into these rabbit holes of information that kept expanding and expanding. I just want a concise answer for my small brain and maybe a quick and clear explanation to fix this.
The emulator essentially creates virtual machines running specific Android versions in order to run your apps. The Hypervisor driver is something that can help a lot with performance. If you want to check out the details, this documentation page might be a good start.
To fix your installation issue you only need to follow the link given in your error message, there's not much need to understand hypervisor workings.

Best way of version control, stable builds and exporting/ a project on multiple devices

today it's a shorter question I'd like to ask, to hear your opinions as I suppose some do this differently than others.
First of all,, I have an Android Studio project and am rather a novice on this subject of Android Development. That's why slight changes in the java or xml files could and did make my latest app unstable/ crashing.
Therefore I was asking myself wether Android Studio offers a way to backup stable builds - I could imagine this like a save-as option where you backup the working version and continue working on the the one but have a stable one backed up.
I know there's the export project function but I tried it out a couple of times and having worked on a project on the same device before, prior to reimporting a project causes an error and that's not the way I guess you should handle it in this situation.
I was looking at Google Cloud for using both version control and the option to commit new versions to the trunk and update them at a different location (different device). If that's the solution you propose, I need to look more closely into the documentation to get it up and running (set up the repository already but no clue how to commit changes/ versions).
So, long story short, what tool/ option do you prefer to have an export and a version control option unified for Android Studio?
Interested to hear and thankful for any advice on that!
There are multiple solutions,
Just find your solution/project in your file explorer and back it up, if you need it again just open the project with Android Studio. (not the most popular one)
Use a version control system like git. Link to tutorial (This is the most popular one), If u are unfamiliar with git, just google it and there are tons of examples and documentation. With git you can tag commits and after u mess up revert to the tagged commit
Git is the simpliest.
It's supported by AndroidStudio and later on you can upload your project to GitHub to access it from anywhere.
You can use it with terminal and shorcut keys, incons as well.
You also can make separate branches in order to make and test more versions parallely.

Android game crashed after displaying unity's splash screen

I found this question on different forums but they didn't helped me to find solution of my issue. I had port unity(5.4) game on my android device (OS 4.4). When i opened the game it crashed after displaying unity's default splash screen. I wonder, it was working fine on unity's editor but didn't worked well on device.

90% it's native plugins. Try to remove all your native android plugins. You can find them under Plugins/Android folder. You also need to remove all links or scripts that uses those plugins. Don't forget to make a back up. If your app won't crash, replace them with some others or connect with plugin development support.
I found the solution. I followed following steps.
Solution
Go to 'Player Settings' -> 'Other Settings'. Uncheck Auto
Graphic Api. Remove 'OpenGLES2' from list.
Test your game on better android device. In my case i tested on Samsung Glaxy S5.
If solution doesn't work
Remove all objects from scene. Port the project and test, if that
works, it means you need to remove unnecessary objects from scene
that need a lot of render power to load on mobile device.
Make sure your Android SDK is uptodated a long with JDK.
Just make sure Virtual Reality support is unchecked

Trouble with Visual Studio 2015 and Xamarin (Android Development)

I need some help with the designer of the visual studio/xamarin on the android.
I'm kinda noob with development, but I was hoping to do some examples, but the designer isn't showing up...
The tutorial videos, from the Xamarin itself, only says it need to create a new project and play with the designer, but when I do that, the designer is empty and I can't do nothing...
Here some pictures from what I have and from what I see on videos:
There's a couple things I'm thinking here. It's quite possible that your installation of Xamarin didn't go according to plan. Check your detailed Visual Studio version information in "Help -> About -> Copy Detailed Info".
Additionally, you might also be running on an outdated version of the Android SDK or there might be an issue with your Java config. Ensure you've got the Android SDK installed and updated and that you're using a current version of the Java SDK.
I also see there's a white box showing up on your Designer screen. Does that ever populate with an error? Usually, that will show some info on what exactly is going wrong.
Lastly, you can also check your logs in the following directory for more hints as to what's going on:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Xamarin\Log

how to debug android sdk code while debugging my app?

I am developing android app for a a couple of months and still in the learning process.
I often feel the need to drill down deeper into code for certain issues that don't make sense to me. For example when I see crashes in apps and the stack trace is shown,, containing SDK classes Looper etc...
So I was wondering if it is possible to debug through sdk code while debugging ?
currently I am writting for platform API 7 and 8. when we download the SDK is the source code SDK source accessible as well ? and if so can we debug it ??
