I had uploaded my app on google play yesterday, today if I search for my app's title in google play, my app appears after 80 to 100 apps??
Why is it so, any suggestions ???
Regards
Thats because of your app name, rating, #downloads.
1. Make sure your name is not used by others or at least not too often
2. Make sure you receive as much stars / ratings as possible (ask users to rate inapp). The better/more rankings you app has the more its likely that your app will be displayed first
3. The downloadcounter also affects the sorting.
It is possible that the name you gave to ur app can be common and app appearing in the market is shown by default according to their tag.try to give uniqueness to ur app and than try.It also depend on the number of times downloaded by users, likes, comments made on them,etc,etc... As the rates of your app increases it will automatically be up in chart.
the ratings are based on popularity, no of hits etc. You should also try to promote your app.
The documentation talks about it.
Preparing promotional materials.
To fully leverage the marketing and publicity capabilities of Google
Play, you need to create promotional materials for your application,
such as screenshots, videos, graphics, and promotional text.

I published 2 android apps recently First app Second app and they are found by searching on google play. But when i search them on google search they don't show up. What can be the problem ? Also is there a way that google play will show my app a bit earlier, like finding some keywords to use or something ?
.
And will be thankful if someone lets me know if the apps look alright.
While publishing your app, you are notified that it takes time for the app to appear throughout the Play Store. Sometimes it appears on desktop version n later on mobile app. It takes about 3-4 hours before everyone gets it.
No, Google specifically prohibits the use of misleading keywords to increase your app's rank in the search. Make sure you include only relevant keywords in the description. The title can also contain extra words so that users find your app faster (e.g. Google's Hangouts app title on the Play Store is Hangouts (Replaces Talk))
Sometimes many applications in google play may have similar name of your application.
Give some fancy unique name to your application .

I want to publish my application in Google Play for a certain country to have some statistics and feedback.
When it's improved I'd like to publish it worldwide. But I'm afraid my app will lose a chance of being placed in Top new free listing at Google Play.
So does Google Play place my application to "Top New" page in the country I just added to distribution list?
I failed to google an answer so it would be great if anyone here knows.
Thanks in advance!
Nobody knows for sure what qualifiers Google uses to place apps in the top category, so I sincerely doubt you'll get a canonical answer here. You could try writing directly to the Google Play team, but I wouldn't rate your chances of getting a response very high.
AFAIK though, Top New categories are only for apps which were recently published, and not recently adding a country. Moreover, you need a minimum amounts of download in a quick time (1 day? 1 week?), and good ratings overall to get listed in the Top New Free section.

I published the below android app in the market 2 days ago. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatappnext.topmusicvideos.
Even if i search by the exact app name the app is not appearing in the first page of Google play page. However when i search for other apps they appear as the first result in the Google play page when i search using the exact app name. Am i missing something. Kindly help me figure out if i am doing something wrong.
Well, I just understood that you are asking for the bad ranking of your app in the search results.
The ranking algorithm doesn't order the results only by app names, it also includes app ratings, number of downloads, and probably some other stuff. The app name and description are used to filter the results and remove irrelevant ones, but I'm not even sure if they are used to order the results.
In fact, it is probably a bad idea to use three very common keywords as your app title. Google tries very hard to downrank this kind of titles, because they try to order the apps by quality rather than keywords.
It would be too easy to make a poor app and appear first in the search results just because the other ones don't use the right keywords. I don't say that your app is bad, but google algorithm might think so.
It may take some time for your app to get indexed in the search results. The site updates their listings in a few days. Wait for sometime and it will appear.
I found it by application package name and even by application's name :)

I just published my first application to the android marketplace. However, when I search, I have to enter the exact name in order for it to come up. Is there a way to enter app tags?
In the market app, my app doesn't even show any 'related' apps either.
How can I make my App more readily viewable?
Thanks
Adding a tags section to your description is helpful and will get your app to show under more search phrases. The catch is, there is more to Google's algorithm that generates hits for your app. Here are some caveats that I've noticed after doing some simple research:
The title of the app gets a higher priority than the description. So a tag in the description called "free wallpaper" isn't going to generate a higher return match than an app named "free wallpaper" unless other factors contribute and make it higher.
The number of app downloads generate a higher percentage.
I'm sure there are others but these were the main two contributors I could deduce from my research.
I added a "TAGS:" section to the bottom of the description. In it I just list single terms separated by commas.

How do you improve the position of an app in Android Market search results? The apps don't seem to be sorted on downloads.
Edit: The scope of this question is limited to working with the Android Market search engine, of which there's little or no information. I changed the title to make it clearer.
:-)
Make an app everyone wants, that gets high user ratings and lots of downloads
Update your app frequently, since it shows up at the top in the "Just in"-tab on every update
Use your Social Media Network (Create Facebook groups, start promoting smart on Twitter). Set up a user wiki where everyone can add content, discuss your app and get a real buzz around it.
Buy Google listings
Create a Blog discussing the app and its outstanding performance
EDIT: Almost forgot: Your app should be free, with a possibility to go pro (= paid).
I would add to the answers:
make your app in a way that can be extended with plugins by 3rd party coders, that means they create and submit their apps to the Market as extensions to your app, and that will raise the results
