Possibility of converting iPhone application to Android without changing source code? - android

I once saw a website that provides a service of converting IPA files to APK. Supposedly, you just install their SDK in Xcode. You don't need to port the code from Objective-C to Java.
But I cannot find it again. Does anyone know of such a site/service?

Apportable offers to port iOS games to Android, but I've never used them myself.

I'm looking to do the same here and I came across this site:
http://www.yeecco.com
It offers a service to convert ipa files for Samsung store ready apps from what I can tell.
But I haven't used it because it doesn't seem too legit what with its poor spelling and grammar.

How can I recover YARV-compiled Source Code of ruby

I have developed an app using Rhomobile, which is a cross-platform native mobile applications using web-technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Ruby, but unfortunately now I don't have the source code as I've lost it, but I have the apk that I built at the time. several readings shows it is possible to recover it by reversing the apk which I did but then in the assets\apps\app I got YARV-bytecode which definitely requires to be restored to the ruby source. I saw some tools like reversal which advertised as YARV to Ruby but didn't worked for me. in the examples reversal given YARV-bytecode appeared there are somehow different to those I found from the apk I pulled from.
Mine is a shown below:
How can I recover it?
Please help this.
No it is not possible to recover the code.

Converting android app to ios

I have one simple question, that is can I convert my android .apk app into ios using any software? If yes, then please give me the name of that software. If any alternative method for that please guide me.
Google has a tool to convert the back-end, nothing for front-end though
http://www.xda-developers.com/google-tool-helps-developers-port-android-apps-to-ios/
There is a new startup that clains to convert the APK to IOS.
It's called MechDome.
The goal is very simple and attractable:
Reduce time to market by eliminating cross-platform development. Automatically convert your existing Android apps to high-fidelity, native iOS apps.
There is nothing out there that would convert apk into ios app. To my knowledge there is also nothing out there that could translate android code to IOS. The operation is simply too complex for a simple tool to manage.
However, there are tools you could use to make your apps (developed by you) work across multiple platforms. I'm sure there are more, but here are 2 of them I found in minutes (look into them if you are interested): Apportable, Phonegap (discontinued as of 2020/03. It was made obsolete by ProgressiveWebApps - PWA).
In past decade or so WebApps have been picking up for anything that is not too graphically demanding as they can run on anything that has a Web Browser. With this style devs pretty much open their website in a platform-specific executable and it looks like an app.
As for your existing app depending on complexity of your software you have to rewrite from a little to a lot of code to adapt to IOS APIs.
In short: No. Unless your app is build on multiplatform framework, converting means manual adaptation.
There is no known way to convert an android app to iOS. MechDome which is a Developer Tool that Automatically Converts Android Apps into iOS Apps seems to have stopped as of 30/03/2021. link
However if it is your plan to launch android and iOS app from one coding project, use Flutter which allows you to launch on both platforms simultaneously.
Flutter is Google’s mobile UI framework that provides a fast and expressive way for developers to build native apps on both iOS & Android, using a single codebase.

Best language for multiple platform software

This time I'm trying to make a software that can be used on iOs, Android, as standalone software, as a web app, and I want to know if there is a way to make a base code in one language and with little effort and minimum changes use it to compile it for all the platforms. I was thinking in c++, but is there a better option?
Thanks in advance
Phonegap gets you three out of four http://phonegap.com/
Seems rather obvious to point out, but you Adobe Air can do each item in your list using the same code. The language behind it is Actionscript and is object oriented. From the same code, you can output Flash for web, Android apps, iOs apps, a standalone Air application for desktops. You can develop in Air using a Mac or PC.
(If you are using a PC to create apps, for uploading to iTunes, you need a Mac, but you can rent a virtual Mac from http://www.macincloud.com, which works on a PC. You will have to use the Mac to create your certificates and upload the IPA file onto iTunes, but it works perfectly without the expense of buying a Mac.)
You could also consider going as a service on the web. Otherwise, c# is a good all way to go. There are sites that will alter different sources of code to different outputs.
jQuery mobile also good framework for multiple mobile platforms. link to website. We are using this for same purpose. So far everything good.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this yet, but Unity should be your go-to for cross-platform app creation. Nominally, Unity is for cross-platform game development, but its expansive libraries allow for robust general-purpose program development. Unity provides you with great tools for building UIs, and it has an active community of developers.
Using C# will get you Android, iOS and Windows Phone if those are key platforms for you. Using Mono / Xamarin you can develop apps in C# / .NET.

Code generation for iOS and android

I'm searching for a framework to create apps for both Android and iOS from one codebase. I'm aware of Appcelarator and PhoneGap etc. However I need a different kind of product. I'm not sure if it exists. I can't find it here or on google.
We are a team of Android and iOS developers and aren't afraid to build natively. What I want is a tool to help me jumpstart development. Preferably a tool where I can create the basic UI and Models and generate native code to use as basis for further development.
Does such a tool exist?
Have you seen Mono??
iOS
Note: Make sure you following the instructions on the MonoTouch website re installation
Development tools (Free): XCode + Interface Builder (http://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios)
MonoTouch ($399USD): http://monotouch.net/
Register for developer program/app store ($99USD): Register
Android
Note: Make sure you following the instructions on the MonoDroid website re installation
Development tools (Free): Java JDK, Android SDK
MonoDroid (public beta): monodroid-download
Register for developer program/market ($25USD): Register
Don’t forget for the iOS component you’re going to need to go buy a Mac to use.
Have a look at LiveCode 5 from RunRev.
http://www.runrev.com/
Have you checked out DAPP? I like it quite a bit.
http://dapp.kerofrog.com.au/
Yes you can Generate the code for both Android/ios and many more languages using the Tool Swagger
Please Check the tool, this tool gives the basic UI and Models and generate native code to just like your Requirement.
But You have to right the Swaggger Specification file(it will be on Json or Yaml) for that. And after Writing Swagger Specification file You can downlaod the code for Android/ios and other language as well. So kindly follow the document of swagger. You will get clear idea about that.
Here i list down usefull links of swagger :

There's a tool called Genexus for Smart Devices, which is a code generator that supports iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows 8.
However, you need to learn the tool, and I've found it useful only for simple CRUD apps. It does enable extremely fast development of said apps, it's a good fit for simple LOB apps. I've tried it and deployed to Android (haven't tested on iOS or other platforms).
http://www.genexus.com/SD/mobile-application-development?en
If you're experienced with iOS and Android, you'll probably get frustrated though (and I'm sure the code it generates isn't pretty).
I've used the generator for desktop and web .NET and Java, and works reasonably well (with those caveats), so I'm sure the Smart Devices generator will continue evolving.
Take a look at Flutter, from their docs:
Flutter transforms the app development process. Build, test, and deploy beautiful mobile, web, desktop, and embedded apps from a single codebase.

How develop Android applications?

I'm really new with this thing of "Android development" and I was really excited when I found Appcelerator Titanium, but now I got the big surprise, it doesn't work on my computer. What other alternatives are there for Android development specially if they include HTML, JavaScript and CSS for creating such applications?
Everything you need to know is on the official site http://developer.android.com/
There is a very popular alternative for making Android and iOS apps with only HTML and JavaScript. It is called PhoneGap:
http://www.phonegap.com/
I think it is exactly what your looking for.
I hope this helps.
My first port of call would be to try and get on the trial of Google App Inventor. It's a really neat way of making Android apps. You can find out more here: http://appinventor.googlelabs.com/about/
A list of various alternative web-tech-based development frameworks is here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_phone_web_based_application_framework
having said that, I have succeeded in running Titanium on Vista and Ubuntu, so if you post the error you are getting someone might be able to help.
App Inventor is fun, although it isn't Javascript based.
You may want to try out Unify, a framework for developing web apps for major platforms (in the moment iOS, Android, webOS - more coming in the future). It is open source and has been released a few days ago. :-)
http://www.unify-project.org/

Get the SL4A app for android. It lets you run python scripts on your android.
Also, look into webview. It let's you load html.
