I have downloaded SDK to the Eclipse and installed the ADT Plugin but when I want to create a new Android project all I get is : File -> New ->(No Applicable Items).
How can I solve this?
Thanks.
Make sure that you are using the right perspective in Eclipse. Window -> Open Perspective -> Other...
Click on new "project", then you can select what type of project. I myself could not find out how to, it is a confusing layout and a bit poorly presented. Once you pick the project you simply click on an "Android" folder of options and can start programming away. Hope that helps!
I used to work with Eclipse Helios
And in that it was straight forward
File -> New Android Application Project
In my new Company they Work with Eclipse Juno
and for Eclipse Juno I have to go little deeper in Menu
File -> New -> Project -> Android -> Android Application Project
You may have installed Eclipse and the Android SDK, but don't forget about the ADT Plugin. After installing it, these instructions are particularly straightforward in getting the ADT Plugin to work in Eclipse.
In general, this link provides the steps to take following downloading the SDK. Perhaps you installed it but never imported it into Eclipse (this link also encapsulates the second link I've posted when hitting "Next" on the instruction page twice).
change the workspace address. I got the same problem but it works after i change it.

I have downloaded ADT Plugin for Eclipse. I don't see Android anywhere either when creating a new project, Preferences or "Customize perspective"
I have searched for the answer but I couldn't find it. The only thing that I didn't try is opening "command group availability" tab mentioned in forum not showing Android And AVD manager in eclipse because I can't see it at my setup.
I'm using Eclipse Neon.2 with JDK jdk1.8.0_121. I didn't add a PATH variable in my system. Not sure if I have to or not.
Android ADT doesn't seem to work for me in Neon too (same errors and long time search on startup without results)
There is a new Eclipse Android dedicated IDE now at https://eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-android-developers-includes-incubating-components/neon2 Must be installed in a separate folder with separate workspace (and renamed if needed) and all existing Android projects can be moved there. Afterwards i uninstalled ADT from the original Eclipse folder.
There is Installation Instructions for Google Plugin for Eclipse 4.6 (Neon)
https://developers.google.com/eclipse/docs/install-eclipse-4.6
It appears that either Eclipse Neon.2 stopped supporting ADT or that it has issues with it. I went back to Eclipse Neon.1 and I can find Android references all over, so I think the issue is something to do with Eclipse Neon.2.
Thanks to all of you who tried to help.
UPDATE:
It appears that for Neon.2 there is a separate package for Android that you can find here:
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-android-developers-includes-incubating-components/neon2
Since my new Update, I cannot create a new Android Project.
I could not upload a picture of this, due to a lack of reputation points. But every-time I try open new project, android studio is asking:
java
java fx
-------
maven
gradle
-------
groovy
griffion
-------
static web
--------
empty project
I already installed everything new, looked for the SDK, gradle. Before the Update, if I'm starts new project android studio just asked the api or if I wanna use a blank activity, but now I have this problem.
I hope someone could help me, because its really annoying.
Before getting to the menu you posted above, you should see the "Configure" option. From there, go to "Plugins" and check "Android Support". Then, it will ask you to restart, and Android Studio Setup Wizard will install that plugin so that you can create a new Android Project as you've described above.
"Location of the Android SDK has not been set up in the preferences in 64 bit Windows" - I know this problem has been addressed before several times, but rather than comment on an old question I decided to make a new one because still it's not solved.
Recently I changed my system from 32 to 64 and currently I cant Run my ADT. When am using 32 its works fine. I installed 64 bit ADT (Build: v21.1.0-569685) and updated everything. Now My ADT contains 6.41 GB.
Now when am trying to run Eclipse I got a popup like
When I am searching this I got a solution like Window -> Preference -> Android -> SDK Location Set the path of the Android SDK in your computer there.
But when I am trying for this OK button is not enabled.
When I am trying to Access AVD again a popup came
When I am trying to create a new Project, another Popup is shown like
When I am trying to update - Mo Updates Found message is showing
Can anybody offer some advice on this problem?
How to Update your ADT to Latest Version?
In Eclipse go to Help
Install New Software ---> Add
inside Add Repository write the Name: ADT (as you want)
and Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
after loading some time you will get Developer Tools and NDK Plugins
check both if you want to use NDK in the future or check Developer Tool only
click Next
Finish
Now My Problem Solved :-)
The issue may arise if you are running IntelliJ Idea or any other IDE that uses / shares the same Android SDK. After running IntelliJ Idea, and thereafter running Eclipse, the Eclipse IDE fails to get the path of the SDK. In Eclipse go to Window > Preferences > Android and change the back slashes to forward slashes. For e.g, D:\eclipse\android-sdk to D:/eclipse/android-sdk and press Apply.
I have faced the same issue
Solution: go to the below URl https://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140702.zip Extract the folder and now go to the preferences and select the SDK folder from the Extracted Folder, and apply it . the problem will be resolved
Go to preferences, find "Android" on the sidebar and then there will be a box for SDK location, point it to the SDK. Read over http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html if you're still stuck.
OR
Go To Eclipse >> Windows >> Preferences and click on the left tab Android and you will see the below image with some text above as
“This Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 14.0.0 or above. Current version is 11.0.0.v201105251008-128486. Please update ADT to the latest version.”
And Update..
Go to Eclipse >> Help >> Check for Updates.
Please don’t forget to close Eclipse after the Updates complete.
How to update your ADT to the latest version:
In Eclipse go to Help ---> Install New Software ---> Add ---> Add Repository
Write the Name: ADT (as you want) and Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
After loading some time, you will get Developer Tools and NDK Plugins
Check both if you want to use NDK in the future, or check Developer Tool only
Click Next
Finish
It means the "Android SDK" folder is empty, that's why it does not want to add it to Eclipse. Here are the contents of the Android SDK folder:
Windows: https://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140702.zip
Mac: https://dl.google.com/android/adt/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20140702.zip
Download and extract the contents to a new folder and name it android-sdk and link that directory to Eclipse and you are all set!
I recently reinstalled my OS, and used to have a PhoneGap / Android project. Now I want to use it again, so I reinstalled Eclipse and the ADT plug in. So far so good. Now the instructions say:
"Choose New > Android Project"
However, Android Project doesn't show up under new projects, like it used to.
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/html5/articles/getting-started-with-phonegap-in-eclipse-for-android.html
I downloaded phonegap-2.6.0, but perhaps it isn't connected to Eclipse... what do I do at this stage to get Android Project to show up?
If there is no 'Android Project' under the menu it is not about PhoneGap it is maybe about ADT, are you sure you installed it correctly ?
And, also you can create Android Project with PhoneGap by using 'command line', then you just go to the same menu:" New > Project " then choose Android Project with existing source choose the path you created before by command line and that's it.
edit1: Make sure you locate true directory for 'android-sdk-mac_x86'
edit2:this is how you create Android project by using Terminal
/path/to/cordova-android/bin/create /path/to/my_new_cordova_project com.example.cordova_project_name CordovaProjectName
I had a similar problem. For me, Eclipse wouldn't respond when I clicked Finish when importing source from a phonegap project.
I later found that I had mentioned an incorrect path to the android-sdk.
Check if that is your problem.
If it is, here is how you change it:
In Eclipse IDE, click on the Window menu and then Preferences.
A pop-up will be opened.
On the left pane, click on Android (click on it, not on the + sign beside it).
In the field SDK Location, click Browse and point to the location of your android-sdk.
You are done!
Hope that helped.
EDIT:
I am using Eclipse Juno, but the options must hopefully be pretty much the same for other versions too. Please comment if this is incorrect.
I'm not able to create a new android project in eclipse.
Whenever I try to create one & reach last screen of the wizard & hit finish button, a empty project (just folder structure) project with the same name gets created in navigator window but the wizard does not go away.
It still has that finish button & nothing happens on clicking it again.
The project created in navigator should have at-least few files for me to start working on it.
Any help?
I'm using eclipse indigo on ubuntu 12.04

Fwiw, I had this problem and I ended up reinstalling eclipse and the sdk, but I instead of installing them separately, I installed bundle:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/bundle.html
and I don't get have this problem anymore.
