Google Maps of my country only? - android

How can I use Google maps in Android app so that it only shows my country?
I mean so that the rest of the world is not featured in the application.

Check out one of Mike Williams' great GMaps tutorials - he shows you how to limit zoom and pan in your map.
If you want some areas to be non-visible, you can try this one: I think that's closest to what you want (the example actually does a similar thing to what you want, using USA as the example).

Android Custom Dijkstra Map

I need to implement a map for a shopping mall in my app. This map needs to have a way to visually mark the fastest path to go from one place to another.
I currently have two options in mind. I could use the Google Maps API, overlay the shopping mall's picture and try to use some algorithm to mark the best route. Or, I could just place the picture and manually make an algorithm to mark the path (probably Dijkstra).
Yet, it's my first time working with Android, and I don't really know which one could work the best, and which libraries I could use.
I'd appreciate any tip or suggestion.
Google map has an android api that you can directly embed google maps into your application. You can also draw overlays using its api. Take a look at

Set default floor shown - Android Google Maps V2

I'm using Google maps V2 in Android. As you know, nowadays Google lets us see floor plans inside some buildings. I'm displaying my position inside my University in a map, but last one only let me see first floor by default (for example if i'm in the second i have to change it manually). I searched in forums and i checked GMaps V2 documentation, but i didnt find any solution..
Do you know any map option, parameter or something else to set the default floor level?
Regards.

Implementing an indoor map

I would like to implement an indoor positioning system on an Android device (galaxy tab)
I have a picture of the map I intend to use. However I am not sure what is the right way to do
this.
I want my application to have some of the abilities of google maps, such as zoom and scroll, and the ability to use overlay items.
However, as I understand, it is not possible to use google maps with a custom map.
What is the right way to do this? Is there a library which enables us to zoom and scroll images/maps?
Can you use the overlay package without google maps? If not, how can you present a location in such a map?
Thanks in advance
Ariel
Have a look at these two Android apps:

To develop a full-blown indoor navigation system, have a look at these platforms:

Googling aroud for "indoor positioning" and/or "indoor navigation" you will find many more solutions.
If it was a large location - say a shopping centre - you could possibly map it out in a KML layer and add it to google maps but I'm not sure how well that would work. Google maps does not allow the user to zoom in very far - probably not far enough for your needs if you want to map down to the room level.
Here is a tutorial on "Map your business inside and out".
The google maps API v3 supports "custom maps"

Converting from google maps to open street maps (osmdroid)

I built my application using Google Maps and it is using:
-BalloonItemizedOverlay
-BalloonOverlayView
-ItemizedOverlay
and what it does:
-Displays multiple points on map, each one clickable and balloon appears with relative text + description.
-Displays and updates the marker/point of user's position.
The only reason I want to switch to Open Street Map is because I would like to use the feature "caching map tiles" (presaving maps) which as far as I have looked it up is not allowed with Google Maps.
Can someone help me convert my application thoroughly to use OSMdroid instead of GoogleMaps? Providing me with some guides (very few support for OSMdroid at the moment...)
I have already looked up a lot of codes but they mostly differ in comparison with Google Maps and I can't seem to get it all right. I have managed to display user's location on the map but adding BalloonItemizedOverlays and so on is a hassle.
Anyway just help me out in any way you can - proposals on how to do it, sites with guides, anything :)
Thanks

I think these two tutorials should get you started with Balloons and Customized Balloons
Itemized overlay with osmdroid is quite easy to use, you should give it a try and you will get the feel of it once you try it our.

Integrating Google Maps data to a game. How?

I have a Game idea which uses Google Maps data, and I wanna know how I can do this.
The idea is:
A online war game that is based on the localization of the players' phones, which I would use Google Maps to get the cordinates and draw the map on the screen, so I can draw icons on the map (ammo, medicines and etc). And when the player's cordinates meet the item's cordinates it goes to the player, for example.
Simplifying, what I have in mind is: I need to get player's cordinates and map images from Google Maps. How I can do that?
Sorry for the bad english.
Thanks,
Luís Henrique.
I recommend starting with this tutorial.
http://www.vogella.de/articles/AndroidLocationAPI/article.html
That will get your feet wet in loading up maps.
Then use this tutorial at the bottom it will reference itemized overlay which will enable you to add all the weapons and respond to events when you click on it.

Your game sounds fun!!!
You can check cloudmade's specialist tools
Also there is static maps api from cloudmade
U can check a list of apps/games made using this here
