I want to zoom in out on any screen including home screen or any other app screen.I have tried to change Screen resolution by changing lcd_density in build.prop file by rooting device but it requires rebooting of device. Can't it be done just like iphone where text/screen zooming can be done at runtime without rebooting.
This is an accessibility thing, most Android have a setting for this under settings>accessibility
If you search around on the web it should be there.
I have seen some rooted devices that let you change the default text size can't remember what the app was called though sorry.

I want to prevent remote screen recording of my app using third party apps like Anydesk, Quicksuppport, Teamviewer etc.
I have used below flag for activity :
getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_SECURE, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_SECURE);
but the above flag doesn't work for all devices.
Any other work around for preventing remote screen recording?
The apps you mentioned are operating with either permission of CAPTURE_VIDEO_OUTPUT or CAPTURE_SECURE_VIDEO_OUTPUT. Unfortunately, if they own CAPTURE_SECURE_VIDEO_OUTPUT, then setting the FLAG_SECURE on your window has no effect from their viewpoint.
Sadly, I don't think there is a better (or more effective) way to achieve the desired behavior.
If you make your app a device administrator, then (on certain api levels) you will have the ability to disable screen capturing on the entire device, but setting this up is a lot of hassle, and it's probably not what you want to do in the first place.
I have developed an application that runs images and videos (with a default application to display them) for a certain time period.
However I want to run all these images and videos only in a landscape view. I want to lock this, irrespective of rotation settings. If possible, I would also like make it to only portrait view in future. Please advise.
It is not possible to change device orientation programmatically, you can redirect user to those setting but not possible to change from app side. e.g you can redirect user to GPS setting screen but not set it from app. Same concept apply for rotation as well.
The shortcuts for putting the Android emulator into landscape view do not work for me. Searching through related questions I see a lot of information about an old bug where the emulator would change orientations, but the rotation event would not be triggered. However, this is different, my emulator won't even change orientation (the keyboard shortcuts do nothing).
Attempting to turn off the portrait orientation in the emulator manager also does nothing, nor do any of the QEMU options relating to the display size (eg. I can't start it in fullscreen or change the geometry of the display at all).
This happens with both a 4.4 image or a 5.0 image. Keyoard support is on and works in general.
Is this a known issue, or is there some trick to getting newer versions of the Android Emulator to change orientation at all?
I have two questions that I can not answer to myself:
How can I change the size of my window, if I do not know the exact size of the phone screen? I.e. my aim is to fit all screen sizes.
Is there any difference between clicking with mouse and touching with fingers in the code? If I write code for clicking, will it work with touch?
On mobile, your app should automatically fill the phone screen. You don't need to worry about it. On desktop, you can use the --size=WxH option to test a specific screen size, or use the screen module (-m screen:nexus7 for example - run kivy with -m screen to see the available options).
No. All mouse/touchscreen interactions are considered touches in Kivy. So using on_touch_down/on_touch_move/on_touch_up will work regardless of the input device. The only difference is that with touchscreen you could have multi-touch - but if you write your app assuming single-touch it will work the same on both mobile and desktop.
I want to change the logo of my phone.
How do i change the booting logo or my android phone? For example, the samsung logo that comes up during boot.
I believe the original question pertains to the SAMSUNG (or your manufacturer's) logo that pops up first thing when booting, not the boot animation that runs afterwards. The boot animation can be changed, but the initial logo(s, as there can be two or more) seems to be somewhat evasive.
On some phones it may be found by doing a search on logo.bin ... on other phones it may be named boot.img ... on others you won't find anything.
Some devices may have a file called param.ifs - mine does not. If you find it ... this is the second splash that pops up right after the initial manufacturer's logo. This can be modified, as well as the boot animation. Know what you're doing if you want to change them.
Short answer: no.
Slightly longer answer: An application has no business changing system-wide settings like the boot logo, so even if you can, you really really shouldn't.
Even longer answer: While it is technically not possible to change the boot logo/animation in ordinary usage of the phone, it is possible to do if you have a rooted phone and don't mind installing a custom ROM. Depending on a whole lot of factors, it might be doable with just root access. For details on how to do this, visit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745297.
