iTunes provides a Lookup Service for gathering metadata as JSON of an app given an app ID.
Is there a similar service for Android? It needn't be a web service or necessarily return JSON, a Java API or similar would also be useful.
Since Android has many stores, there may be many lookup services. If so, as many APIs as needed would be useful.
It seems that there is no tool that exists for Android at the minute.
Maybe this one can help you http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/search/index.html.

I am new to android programming and database. I have very little experience with database. I am trying to make users login from different phones. I think I read that SQLite will not be suitable for this. Basically, I want the user's data to synch with different phones.
I want to know what type of database I could use. Thanks!
You need use a database in the cloud, a server, not in Android.

So, I have server application written in Scala using playframework. Now I need to make client for Android (in Scala) which will interact with server by HTTP requests. I have not much experience in Android development. And because of it I have the question. Is there any framework for this kind of things?
Data from the server to the client transmitted in a Json format.
You can have a look at Proguard for Scala and this documentation.

I'm developing android client which is capable of upload system db contacts information (name, phone_number, email).
Could someone suggest the best technology in point of best performance (in client) with about 1000 contacts.
SOAP or REST, XML or JSON.
I would go for a REST service, as it is more lightweight as SOAP. Also, you don't need a stateful service for this. Next to that I would use JSON, for two reason. Almost always smaller than xml, and great Android support for parsers.

By in-app tutorial I mean this
Do those in-app tutorials have special technical term to use, so it's possible to filter all those unrelated results?
How to implement them? Tried looking it up in Google, but obviously got keyword collision leading to unrelated results.
You can get some useful results with the search terms "android app onboarding".
Btw. extensive in-app tutorials are probably not a good idea, especially when they are mandatory.
