Sending # as dtmf in android - android

I'm trying to make a call directly like this
String url = "tel:" +"029870125,198#";
Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_CALL,Uri.parse(url));
but the problem is that Android is sending 198 as dtmf, but the # is not being sent. Is there any special mechanism needed to send # as dtmf?

Intent intentCallForward = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_CALL);

intentCallForward.setData(uri);

Pass sms body to default sms app

I found multiple threads here about this, but none of them are working for me. This is my code:
public void sendSMS (String number, String body) {

It opens stock SMS app and passes the number to send, but text body is empty.
I also tried this Uri.fromParts(body, number, null) but then the app just crashes.
Replace your code with below code. You are not passing correct keys to detect number and text body for the sms.

I searched various answers but all of them are outdated.
Whenever I tried using send to it only opens contact chooser.

Update:
The aforementioned hack cannot be used to add any particular message, so here is the new approach. Pass the user mobile in international format here without any brackets, dashes or plus sign. Example: If the user is of India and his mobile number is 94xxxxxxxx , then international format will be 9194xxxxxxxx. Don't miss appending country code as a prefix in mobile number.

At a contact list in my Android app, there is an option to launch WhatsApp implemented as follows:

How can we choose among all apps installed at an Android device that use the phone number as and identifier (Hangouts, SMS, Skype, Line, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp, etc)?
Fortunately Android Intent.createChooser is smart enough to figure out the apps that understand the phone numbers as an identifier :-)

Intent.ACTION_DIAL with number ending with #

So I'm trying to send a number via Intent.ACTION_DIAL ending with # i.e for example *123#. But when the Android Dialer app is started, there is only *123 (# is missing).
I'm using following code to trigger the Dial Application of Android.

You need to properly encode the hash tag (#). In your URL requests it should be %23, so replacing it with %23 will do the trick.
Uri number = Uri.parse("tel:*124%23");

To start launch the sms activity all you need is this:

You can add extras to populate your own message and such like this
