LinearLayout not scrolling with ScrollView

I have a LinearLayout that has a lot of TextViews programatically put in. By a lot, I mean it extends beyond the bottom of my screen. I want to use a ScrollView to allow the user to scroll beyond the screen and see the rest of the TextViews. This is my activity_main.xml currently:

Try changing android:layout_width="wrap_content" to android:layout_width="match_parent"

NOTE: To see if it is scrolling or not try placing some views inside linearLayout like buttons otherwise you won't notice the screen scrolling

Relative Layout inside a ScrollView - Not scrolling

I have a relative layout as child of Scrollview. I already tried a bunch of answers in here but the scroll isn't working.

Another thing: i disabled the listview scroll to avoid conflicts.

You should change layout_height of the RelativeLayout to match_parent:

Also remove android:fillViewport="true" from ScrollView.
In my project I have several ScrollViews exactly like this, and they work fine:

One last thing I can propose is to remove ListView from the ScrollView as it can interfere with layout and scrolling.

Add this line to your onCreate()

I am not sure what exactly you are trying to accomplish, but you can get rid of the warning by moving FrameLayout content to a separate file and add it back to your TabHost by using <include> tag.
A possible version could look something like this:

I noticed that some people are suggesting to remove FrameLayout. Although, that could have solved the problem in other cases, TabHost needs TabWidget and FrameLayout to function correctly.

The warning you are getting is this one:
UselessParent
Summary: Checks whether a parent layout can be removed.
Priority: 2 / 10 Severity: Warning Category: Performance
A layout with children that has no siblings, is not a scrollview or a
root layout, and does not have a background, can be removed and have
its children moved directly into the parent for a flatter and more
efficient layout hierarchy.
It can be turned off in Lint.
Update: I missed that tabhost requires a framelayout to work. Disabling the warning or going with shoe rat's solution should still fix the problem. (ignore paragraph below)
Assuming you don't need the FrameLayout (i.e. to add stuff dynamically), you can try removing it and adjusting the LinearLayout accordingly:

There is nothing wrong with it and any activity using this layout will run without a problem. But eclipse will give you a warning:
This RelativeLayout layout or its LinearLayout parent is useless
As you can see, I only need one of the two container layouts above. Adding the RelativeLayout with id="rlInner" does nothing to change the layout. When eclipse finds a scenario like this, it gives you an appropriate warning to indicate the redundancy.
In your scenario, you can lose the FrameLayout altogether without disturbing the layout. And this would fix the warning.

Add an ID to the parent linear layout.
It's useless because the parent linear layout doesn't have an id. It means it would be difficult or impossible to add stuff in code outside the linear layout where you got the error.

Android two latyout horizantally

i want to put two layouts horizantally, small layout on the right and the big on on the left
i tried like this

A LinearLayout displays its children in the order in which you add them: top to bottom = left to right, for a horizontal view and top to bottom for a vertical view. Change the order of the views in the XML and they will change on the screen.

linear layouts not spacing correctly

Hey im having trouble with these linear layouts in android xml. initially i did them in a relative layout and it worked fine, but after some research i discovered that relative layouts inside of a scrollview doesnt work supposedly. so now after much tweaking my imageview shows up but has a huge margin above and below it and my textview doesnt even show up aside from being where its supposed to in the graphics editor but blank.
so whats wrong? should i even be using a linear layout?

Don't worry about weight right now, leave it removed. In your TextView, change "android:src" to "android:text" (without the quotes naturally). If that alone doesn't solve it, remove the textSize line and see what happens. If that works, then you can start playing with sizes (and weights if needed).
Also, textSize should be given in sp rather than dp. sp is for text, dp is for everything else, though that's not what is causing your problem.
