Shake animation is "sliding underneath" other widgets android - android

I am new to animations. I have a spin Animation on a button. The problem is when that button animation is executed the button intersects other buttons in the layout. So during animation the moving button cannot be seen since it is being covered up by other buttons. Any idea on how to make my animation stay on the top layer of the layout? I would like to figure out a solution that is API 8 compatible.

So i have played with it over the past few hours and discovered some more things. Lecho intuition is correct, the z order is the driving factor in whether a widget goes "above" or "below" another one. The problem I am facing is could be because of two things:
The button that is at the front of view view (and i want to move it back) has text that is edited near the end of the activity. Does adding text forcing the widget to redraw change the Z order of that view???
The button text is changed in the onResume() and it seems that I'm not able to change the Z-order of the buttons in that method???
answers to these above 2 questions would solve my problem

Just my idea. In android z-order is determined by order in which views are added to XML. Maybe animated button was added to xml before the other one so it is "deeper". Try to put animated button later in XML or use method bringChildToFront(buttonView) on your layout or add your button to layout from code.
Edit:
Ad 1. Adding text seems to not change the Z order. When I change text and call button.bringToFront() the Z order is changed but not when I call bringToFront() or setText() alone.
Ad 2. In onResume adding text doesn't change Z order but method bringToFront() seems to works as expected.
I am not able to test those methods together with view animation right now.

SlidingDrawer underlap in RelativeLayout

I used a SlidingDrawer like in this tutorial
It works in a LinearLayout, but there is always a whitespace depending of the hight of the slider and all other stuff show up below the whitespace.
The soloution should be to use a Relative Layout. This deletes the whitespace but the handlerbutton from the slider seems to be under the content in the scrollview and don't do anything by clicking on it. See the screenshot

The slider should overlap the scrollview when its whiped out
In view hierarchy terms, views defined at the beginning of your layout XML are "deeper" than those defined later.
In your case your ScrollView is added to the hierarchy after your SlidingDrawer so what your seeing is to be expected.
Move your SlidingDrawer to below your ScrollView and it should be above it.

How to switch between 2 TextViews places on the layout?

I have an OnClickListener that listens to Button A clicks. I also have 2 TextViews below the Button.
I want that on every click on Button A, the 2 TextViews will switch their places between them, like this:

This should work.
Toggling behavior can be achieved by this application. For example:

textHolder.getChildAt(0).bringToFront();
ViewGroup.getChildAt(0) always returns the first child of the ViewGroup. So everytime you call bringToFront on the first child will be bring to front.
All previous answers do not work because you use a relative layout where a linear layout will suffice.

This will place A under B. You can do the same for reversing.

Characters appear in the order as i click

For example. There is picture on the top of the screen below that there are some empty boxes and below the boxes there are some buttons. Every button has a character for text("a","c","t"). You click on a button and the button's text appear in the box. You can click them in the order you want to but the answer is "cat" so when you put the characters in the correct order then you got a toast.
I tried to do it with TextViews and Buttons. I can make the button disappear when i click on it and a textview appear in the same time. But every textview has a fix place on the screen, so i need to put every character in every box invisible and when i click on the "c" character it appear in the first box and the other "c" characters stay invisible. But if i click on the "a" first, then it appears in the second box because there is too much variation to do all. I'm not good at explaining but if anyone has an idea how to do that easier please response!

You might want to try a slightly different approach.
If I understand you correctly, you want to "type" a word out using given lettered buttons. Like one of those hangman style games.
Why not append the text views on the fly.
Something like

</RelativeLayout>
This way you can customise the number of rows/columns based on the length of the word you're playing with. And GridView will automatically give you a neat layout and spacing.

Android scrollTo(0,0) action on click

Hello I am really new on android development and I would like to ask a simple question.
I have a button (buttonR2C1).
When I click the buttonR2C1 I change the text of my textView (the textview is included inside a scrollView).The problem is that the position of the scrollView remains the same.
I would like to add an action that brings my ScrollView in position 0,0 by using the scrollTo action.
Can anyone help me achieve this?

You have to use the scrollTo method of the ScrollView, not the TextView, like
final ScrollView scr = (ScrollView) findViewById(R.id.scrollView1);
scr.scrollTo(x, y);
To scroll exactly to your TextView, you'll have to get the position of the TextView.

EditText Field Is Crashing My Android App

Hi all i have updated my post to show the full xml file, which will show if i am doing something wrong.
i implemented a custom dialog with an edit text field and it keeps crashing. I will
also like to access the values filled in the text field. Any idea where i am going wrong? Thanks.

You have two items in your ScrollView. According to the doc :
A ScrollView is a FrameLayout, meaning you should place one child in
it containing the entire contents to scroll; this child may itself be
a layout manager with a complex hierarchy of objects.
So you should had another layout, like a linear layout :
