Eclipse will not debug anymore after a crash of the computer - android

Last night when I'm developing an Android app using Eclipse, the computer suddenly out of order and showed a blue screen.
After restarting, open Eclipse, and when I continue the development, I found out that Eclipse will not show any error message even if I type anything wrong.
For example, I type $^&((^(*&$GFKGHlkgvfekigfe in the activity, Eclipse shows nothing, just like the code is correct LOL
How can I re-enable the auto debug function? Thanks.

Or try to run Eclipse in clean mode. Please see the following discussion: How to run eclipse in clean mode

Try cleaning your project. In Eclipse, select your root project folder in the project navigator, then go to Project > Clean... > OK. You can also clean all projects by selecting the Clean all projects radio button in the clean dialog.

You able to Automatic Build by
Go Eclipse project menu
Choose Build Automatically

How to refresh A Project in Eclipse

I have been studying Android on Eclipse Mars for some time and i have been facing a constant problem everyday-the changes made in a folder/file are not recognized by some other folder/file. For example, if i create a new layout in the layout folder and then use it in the setContentView, it shows me an error ("layout-name cannot be resolved or is not a field). It works if i save the project, close it, and open it again, but this takes up a lot of time if i have more than one error, so the question-is there a way to save and refresh the project (without having to close it) so that the newly made files and folders are recognized by the java files?
Thank you.
You can refresh your project in Eclipse by right clicking on the project root folder in your Project Explorer and selecting "Refresh".
You may also want to consider checking if you have "auto build project" turned on. In your top toolbar go to Project -> Build Automatically.
If build automatically is turned off you will have to manually build your project, by Right Clicking on the project in your Project Explorer and selecting "Build Project".
However, I do agree with Pankaj Nimgade that Android Studio is likely a better entry point IDE for Android development.
Real advice: Switch to Android Studio as soon as you can. There you would sometimes have another problem called "sync" though. But it's a much better IDE and you are at least in line with Google.
on Eclipse, F5 should do the trick. Or right click your project and Refresh. Or Clean all projects. If you are still stuck, simply close Eclipse and run it again.

Run Button is Disabled in Android Studio

I can't click the run button. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Click Run on the menu and then Edit Configurations... then click on Android Application on the left and click the + button. Choose Android Application from the pop-up menu. Then pick the module (its normally app or something like that). Then click apply and ok.
If you have more errors after that, try to re-import the project in Android Studio.
When creating the Run Configuration, the dropdown for Module had only <no module> for me. Invoking menu File -> Sync Project with Gradle Files added app to the dropdown for Module. Then the Run button became enabled.
The above answer didn't work for me, instead closing the project and restaring the AS IDE worked for me.
Just click the dropdown button on left side of RUN button (in your image the dropdown which is in red box) select 'app' option from that and RUN button will be enabled.
Please refer below screenshot.
just to go File -> Sync Project with Gradle files then it solves problem.
for flutter project, if the run button is disabled then you have to
tools>> flutter>> flutter packages get >>enter your flutter sdk path >>finish
This should solve your problem...
Above answer didn't work for me, just do click File -> Invalidate/cache -> Invalidate and Restart.
open your existing application by selecting build.gradle file. it will automatically sync the project and run button will be clickable
Run 'app' button disable issue coming sometimes in Android Studio Dolphin
Sync your project with gradle files
It was quite silly for me, I just opened the Run > Run Configurations window
everything seemed to be fine there, I didn't change anything, when I closed the window the button was enabled.
If you have changed jdk version then go to File->Project Structure->Select SDK Location from left bar->update JDK Location in editbar in right bar.
If your IDE is in power save mode, then the run button etc. are also disabled.
You can verify this via the file -> power save mode, make sure it is disabled.
If you are on a Mac, try clicking on File, then click on "Sync project with Gradle files" .... Run button should turn green again in a few seconds.
if you're importing an eclipse project to android studio, you'll also encounter the same issue as above. Double Check if grade>app has
apply plugin: 'com.android.application' on the top as sometimes android studio imports it as a library.
You have to reconfigure the FlutterSDK path in Android Studio: Go to Setting -> Language & Frameworks -> Flutter and set the path to Flutter SDK
I just clicked on the debug icon and it started working.
Build->Clean Project
make the run button enable again in my case
For me increasing the version of compile SDK to latest solved my issue, Go to
build.gradle(app-level)
compileSdkVersion 30
Because My Emulator is Api-level 30
Select the project view in the android studio.
Remove all gradle folders.
Restart the android studio.
This will work.
The issue is happening since the gradle was configured for an android studio in another machine and the files pushed on the git and are using in your studio.
After removing these gradle files and restarting the studio, the studio will generate gradle files for your system. This will solve the issue.
I opened the wrong folder.... Verify is your root folder in Android studio has the build.gradle file.
If you are trying to run the Flutter Project in Android Studio, and the run button is disabled then here is the solution
Click on add configuration
and select Flutter and then select the main class in dataentrypoint
I'm using Linux where I had a symlink in my home folder pointing to a folder containing the Android Studio projects. Loading a project using the symlink failed, loading a project from the folder where the symlink is pointing to worked!
My solution was to go to that multiselect button, then "Edit Configurations" -> Go to "+" and select the module (in this case it would be an app if you do not have a multiproject -> then apply and OK
Happened to me twice, and then I figured out it happened after I upgraded my flutter version. When I opened (flutter SDK path) in (flutter) tab in (system preferences) I found it empty.
Solution was to point out to flutter directory on my disk from (flutter SDK path) in (flutter) tab in (Android studio preferences).
Run button is bounded with Configuration that is why you should check if your project is build, synced and indexed and after that you can select a Configuration
For me, more than 1 instance of adb was initialized and due to this run button was disabled. I had to open ActivityManager (on mac) and kill all the initialized adb instances.
go to Build-> Clean Project
Selecting a different build variant (in the Build Variants view), then reselecting the initial build variant, fixed this issue for me.

Adt eclipse phantom error

I was developing a simple app and eclipse says that i cannot run the app because there are errors. I try to find that error, but everything is perfect! Its a simple app(a counter)...
Please Help!
Print Screens:
[I cannot post images because of my low reputation(this is my third question)]
EDIT:
There is nothing wrong and it does not report any bug. When i click "RUN" it just says "Your project contain error(s), Please fix them before running your application".
Let's try to make a full clean of your project.
Right click your project name. Android Tools > Fix Project Properties. If you have multiple Library Projects linked to this project, follow the same step with them first.
Hit the top menu Project > Clean. Select the radio button Clean all projects and hit OK.
You should leave Eclipse doing its job (depending on the amount of projects and files, it may take a while). If this doesn't work, follow the same process, but as a third step, close Eclipse and restart it right after you hit the OK button. Eclipse is powerful, but a silly IDE sometimes.
If the problem is there after restarting, and you have some libraries attached, check inside the Project build paths (right click the project name, Project Properties > Java Build Path) have the proper JARs, only once, and before any Android Library

Exported Eclipse Android project won't run from Android Studio

I followed googles instructions and exported a test project from Eclipse by using the
Export -> Generate Gradle build files
opened up Android Studio and imported. After getting my support libraries working properly my project would compile with out any errors. My problem started when I tried to run the app on my device. When ever I try to run the app it directs me to use an AVD, never giving me the option to select my device. I obliged, created a new AVD but to no avail only to get build failed error. (I'll add the exact error when I can) NOTE: I can see my device is connected by clicking on "(6)Android" and the bottom left of the screen. I do see all logcat messages in verbose. I added android:debuggable="true"to my manifest but still nothing.
Confused I created a new project directly from Android Studio, hit run and bingo,...it gave me the option to use my device to run it or an AVD. Selecting either results in a successful launch of the dummy "Hello World" app. I think it may have something to do with build variants as my imported project doesn't specify "debug" vs "release" while the Android Studio generated project does.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I found the answer to my own question. Bit of a double whammy. Before installing Android Studio I updated my SDK via Eclipse (as recommended/required by google). Turns out by doing so a few items in my current projects got disconnected. ie. build paths, dependencies, ect. (you now have to place external Jar's in the src/libs folder)
Here is what I did to fix it.
In Eclipse, Preferences -> Java Built Path ->"Order and Export" tab. Make sure items are selected
If you have external Jars, manually copy and paste the jar in the libs folder of the project. (I did this in my Finder)
confirm the project launches via Eclipse
If it runs, export the project again by "Generate Gradle build files" (confirm overwriting existing files, if any)
5.Open Android Studio and re-import the project. Again, confirming overwriting of any existing files.
6.Next to the run bottom at the top of the screen click on the drop down next to your project name. Click "Edit Configurations..." and select "show chooser dialog" if not already selected.
clicked ok to exit,..and PRESTO!!! I finally have a successful project migration.
Hope this saves someone else time.
Cheers!
Yeah i have experienced similar stuff on Eclipse, its quite buggy. Since Android studio is based on it i would expect everything. Still the best solution to everything is to reload project, refresh project or restart IDE.

unable to export .apk from eclipse

Tried to export working android project from eclipse. The screen is frozen at page "Export Android Application". "Next" button is grayed out. Same project runs fine on emulator and HTC as well. Please help.
Restart Eclipse but if that doesn't fix it, try the following:
Under the Project menu, choose Clean...
Click Clean All Projects then click on OK.
I sometimes find that Eclipse gets messed up. Cleaning all projects in my current workspace usually takes care of it.
